Top Priority Players to Add
Josue De Paula, OF (LAD) — 16% Rostership
JDP, just 21 years old, skipped Triple-A and made his major league debut with the Dodgers. He went hitless but made some hard contact (90.8 EV / 98.7 max), plus tallied a walk – something he’s accustomed to doing (BB% over 14% at every level since making his pro debut in 2022). This is a talent that slashed .303/.401/.547 with a monster 145 wRC+ with Double-A this season…there’s a reason an elite organization like the Dodgers were willing to skip levels and allow him to jump headfirst into major league competition.
Tyler Mahle, RHP (ATL) — 50% Rostership
I don’t know how you can be serious about winning your league championship, yet not roster a red-hot target like Mahle. Since joining Atlanta at the deadline:

Yahoo and ESPN Most Added Players
Cesar Perdomo is a 24-year-old rookie lefty that’s managed to post a 0.90 ERA over his first 10 major league innings. Despite being undersized, Perdomo owns whiff rates greater than 28% on all three of his offerings, including a changeup that boasts a 33% put-away rate and a .183 xwOBA.
Kyle Leahy is a must-add and has been for some time. Connor Prielipp and Randy Dobnak are cautious adds. Dobnak has three consecutive games with 6+ innings (but one with 6 ER), and Prielipp has been very boom-or-bust lately (14 earned runs between 2 starts; the next three have yielded 5 total).
Victor Mesa Jr. has hit safely in seven consecutive games and has homered in three straight. Easy add.
Clay Holmes, Tyler Mahle (previously mentioned), and Ian Seymour should be rostered or immediately added into your “claim” list. Walbert Ureña comes with ups and downs, but he’s tossed back-to-back outings of seven and eight innings with just two combined earned runs allowed. Kyle Harrison is going to be used in more of a bulk role, so if you’re into getting more production from less of a traditional starter type, you can add him.

Cal Quantrill, RHP (TEX) — 40% Rostership
Just don’t look at the underlying stuff with Quantrill. Over his last nine outings, the 31-year-old boasts an elite 1.64 ERA to pair with a 19.8% K-BB rate and 0.79 WHIP. At this point in the year, we’re not looking too much into the long-term fit with pitching options – Quantrill may fizz out at some point sooner or later in the future, but he’s good for a stream in his matchup against the Diamondbacks.
Jacob Lopez, LHP (ATH) — 30% Rostership
Like Quantrill, Lopez won’t rack up much swing-and-miss. However, he’s been able to go at least six innings in all but one of his last six starts dating back to August 10th. If you want to push the sample size back another month to July 10th, Lopez is rocking a 2.67 ERA/2.98 xERA with a 1.08 WHIP through 57.1 innings. This is a solid stream if you’re into a high floor target to win your ERA category.
