MLB Rumor Roundup: 7/12

Diving into recent talk, transactions, and trends around the league!

Welcome back to another week of Rumor Roundup, where we dive into all the recent talk, transactions, and trends from around the league, balancing both fantasy baseball implications and real-world baseball analysis through the lens of a front office.

Featured Story

Athletics outfielder Tyler Soderstrom was activated off the injured list this week. Soderstrom, 24, was lighting up the competition in the month of June, slashing .284/.408/.543 with a 160 wRC+ and one more walk (16) than strikeouts (15).

Soderstom is still shaking off the rust a bit in terms of his overall production (2-for-10) since making his return, but he does have a double and homer in July over that same span. Here’s a look at how he’s performed this month since coming back from injury:

BA xBA SLG xSLG wOBA xwOBA
.200 .432 .600 .706 .392 .523

Soderstom is still making quality contact, torching baseballs, and making good swing decisions. He’s a budding star and it’s good to have him back on the field.
