The division reports debuted last year. The goal of this article series is to provide a quick overview of all dynasty-relevant information from each division. Each team has multiple minor league levels, each containing plenty of impactful prospects which can feel impossible to keep up with. This article series, which will be updated once per month, will help dynasty managers stay up-to-date on performances, injuries, promotions, and more. New this season is the inclusion of tiers in the rankings. Next to their rank, each prospect is assigned a tier. The tier range is 1-5.
- Tier 1: A potential difference-making dynasty prospect. Somebody who would rank in the top-20ish prospects for dynasty baseball
- Tier 2: A still very good dynasty prospect who holds plenty of value. This prospect would typically rank in the 21-75 range
- Tier 3: A mid-tier prospect who could be valuable but has questions and concerns present in his profile ranking in the 76-150 range
- Tier 4: A prospect who is worth knowing, but is reserved for deeper leagues. This prospect would rank 151-250
- Tier 5: The rest of the prospects fall into Tier 5
As a Phillies fan, the National League East is definitely one of the most fun divisions in baseball, at least to me. The NL East sent three teams to the playoffs last season, while the Marlins and Nationals are attempting to rebuild. With two teams rebuilding, and the other three teams looking to build sustained success, there are plenty of prospects in this division with dynasty significance. This article will keep you up to date on all of the latest news from the five farm systems in the NL East.
NL East
Notable Prospect Assignments:
- The Phillies announced that Justin Crawford is going to be starting the season in Triple-A. Crawford hit .313 with nine homers and 42 steals between High-A and Double-A last season. The weakest position on the Major League depth chart is center field, making Crawford’s reassignment to Triple-A all the more notable. If the combination of Brandon Marsh and Johan Rojas struggles, Crawford could find himself in the majors this season.
- Moisés Chace is expected to start the season in Double-A. There was some thought that the Phillies would start Chace in Triple-A, but they will play it slow and send him back to where he finished the season strong in 2024. Chace has major breakout appeal as his control improved following a midseason trade to the Phillies last year.
- The Phillies have not announced many assignments to this point. However, the expectation is that Aroon Escobar will start at the Complex Level. Escobar is a popular breakout pick amongst many in the dynasty community, and hopefully we will see him reach full-season action this season.
- In addition to Crawford, Otto Kemp and Gabriel Rincones Jr will be at Triple-A in 2025. All three are not on the 40-man roster but could be impactful bats if one of the Phillies’ regulars goes down with an injury at some point during the year.
Notable Prospect News:
- Andrew Painter continues to progress well from Tommy John Surgery, although the team is being overly cautious with their top prospect. He threw live batting practice for the first time on March 13th. Painter is expected to throw in extended Spring Training action, setting him up for a potential Major League debut later in the summer.
- The first name not on this list to know is Carson DeMartini. DeMartini was the team’s fourth-round pick this past season and has adjusted his swing since joining the Phillies’ organization. He hit a home run in the team’s Spring Breakout game and has the power to turn into an impactful dynasty asset.
- Pitching prospect Alex McFarlane also put his name on the map in the Spring Breakout game. McFarlane missed the entire 2024 season recovering from Tommy John Surgery. His stuff looked electric in the Spring Breakout and he could be a fast riser this season.
Notable Prospect Assignments:
- Jett Williams is heading back to Double-A Binghamton to start the season. 2024 was a lost year for Williams, in large part due to a wrist injury. Even when healthy, Williams did not seem right at the plate. Despite being lower in my ranks than others have him, Williams is still a noteworthy dynasty prospect to keep tabs on early in 2025.
- The team has yet to announce assignments for many of the prospects above. The assumption is that Drew Gilbert will head back to Triple-A and is first in line for a promotion if something happens to one of the Mets’ regulars. Gilbert spent most of last season in Triple-A and finished with an underwhelming .205 batting average. He remains highly regarded on many major publications, but the Mets will surely want to see more before adding him to their Major League roster.
Notable Prospect News:
- Pitching on the backfields, Jonah Tong was reportedly hitting 98 mph on his fastball. A jump in velocity on his four-seamer could elevate Tong to the next tier of prospects. His curveball is already a plus, and any additional velocity could spell trouble for hitters. Tong will likely start the season in Double-A.
- Matt Allan is healthy again and reportedly throwing heat on the back fields of Spring Training. Allan has not pitched in a professional game since 2019 while recovering from multiple arm injuries. He has long been viewed as a prospect with impressive stuff, but has fallen off many prospect radars due to his injuries. If healthy, he is a name that could fly up boards this season.
- Boston Baro’s stock seems to be rising in dynasty circles. The eighth-round pick from 2023 hit a home run in the Spring Breakout game and has the tools dynasty managers look for in sleeper picks. He makes good contact with lots of line drives and has solid speed. The counting stats have not shown up yet, but he could take a significant step forward in 2025.
Notable Prospect Assignments:
- Both Drake Baldwin and AJ Smith-Shawver made the Major League ball club. Since this article focuses on each team’s farm system, players currently on a Major League roster are not included in the rankings. Baldwin would have ranked as the top prospect in Atlanta’s system while AJSS would have ranked eighth. Both hold varying levels of fantasy relevance to start the season.
- Hurston Waldrep will start the season in Triple-A. Waldrep pitched seven innings at the Major League level last season, but will get some more seasoning in the Minor Leagues. Waldrep’s splitter is a plus offering, but the rest of his arsenal has more questions than answers. He should find himself back in Atlanta at some point in 2025.
Notable Prospect News:
- Didier Fuentes’ Spring Breakout performance is not the only reason he ranks second on this list. Fuentes put together a spectacular 2024 season and simply continued this success at the Spring Breakout. Fuentes’ size is a concern for many, but he has the potential to be a significant dynasty asset. His assignment is yet to be determined, but there is a high likelihood he starts the season in High-A.
- Nacho Alvarez Jr left a Spring Training game back in February with an injured wrist and was just placed on the 10-day IL. Alvarez did not appear in another game for the big-league club despite reports that his wrist was feeling better. This injury is clearly lingering and could impact his performance moving forward.

Notable Prospect Assignments:
- Deyvison De Los Santos only got 11 at-bats with the Major League club in Spring Training. De Los Santos was viewed by many to have an inside track at the starting first base or DH job for Opening Day, but did not get much of a shot. Instead, DDLS heads back to Triple-A where he will look to improve his contact skills. The power upside is huge, but there is significant hit tool risk in his profile.
- Agustin Ramirez will be joining De Los Santos in Triple-A. Ramirez hit .235 with two homers this spring and will now head to Triple-A to start the 2025 season. Despite scouts’ concerns over his defensive abilities, the Marlins seem intent on allowing Ramirez to develop as a catcher. There is not much talent ahead of him on the Major League depth chart, making it likely we see Ramirez in Miami at some point in 2025.
- Robby Snelling and Dax Fulton will both be starting the season in Double-A. Snelling finished last season in Triple-A, but the Marlins will play it slow as Snelling will be 21 for the entire season. Fulton missed the entirety of the 2024 season recovering from Tommy John Surgery.
- Top prospect Thomas White will start the season in Double-A. White ranks amongst my highest-ranked pitching prospects in all of baseball and will start the season one level higher than he finished last year.
Notable Prospect News:
- Jakob Marsee has returned to game action. Marsee was dealing with an oblique injury that kept him sidelined for the majority of Spring Training, but he is now healthy once again and looking to find more success in his second season with the Marlins organization. He will likely start the year in Triple-A where he spent the entirety of the 2024 season.
- PJ Morlando will miss the start of the season after undergoing surgery. The surgery was an ulnar nerve transposition in his non-throwing arm that will keep him out potentially through May. Morlando got just one plate appearance last year before getting injured and is now sidelined again. The start of Morlando’s professional career has been one to forget. He just misses cracking the Marlins’ top ten prospects.
- Karson Milrbandt’s 2025 Spring Breakout performance lands him at 10th on this list. Milbrandt was a forgotten name after posting underwhelming numbers his first two professional seasons. However, he is firmly back on radars now. His fastball sat 97 with over 17″ of iVB. His cutter also looked like an effective out pitch. We need to see more sustained success, but this was certainly a positive sign heading into 2025. He will start the season in High-A.
Notable Prospect Assignments:
- Despite hitting .364, Brady House did not do enough to make the Major League roster. House lost his path to playing time when the team signed Paul DeJong to a Major League contract. House has the power and draft pedigree to intrigue dynasty managers. However, his hit tool has been suspect throughout his professional career. Hopefully, his strong Spring Training carries over into the Triple-A regular season. Fantasy managers should expect House to debut this season.
- Andry Lara is going to start the season in Triple-A. Despite not cracking this top-10 list, Lara ranks toward the top of the Nationals’ pitching prospects. He put together a strong 2024, throwing 134 innings with a 3.34 ERA. He will look to continue his success in 2025 and could find himself pitching in Washington later this summer.
- Robert Hassell III is looking to reclaim fantasy relevance. The former top prospect has plummeted down rankings over the last few seasons, but hit .370 this spring. He heads to Triple-A to start the season but could be first in line for Major League at-bats should one of the Nationals’ regulars get injured.
Notable Prospect News:
- Cade Cavalli has progressed to live batting practice. Cavalli underwent Tommy John Surgery back in 2023, shortly after making his Major League debut. He returned to game action but made just three starts before being shut down. Cavalli is expected to return to the Nationals’ rotation at some point this summer. At 26, it is fair to wonder what version of Cavalli we will see, thus the reason he ranks only 10th on this list.
- Daylen Lile received high praise during Spring Training. Lile has not advanced past Double-A, but caught the eye of many on the Major League staff. Lile just missed cracking this list, as he has not hit more than nine home runs in a season. If he can show off increased power, he could become a dynasty-relevant prospect.
