Fantasy Baseball Relief Pitcher Roundup: 9/10

Welcome to the RP Roundup, my daily fantasy baseball article reviewing every reliever performance from the previous day.

TBR 1 – ATL 3

Kevin Kelly may need a break down the stretch here; the only issue is that could be said about Bryan Baker as well, and they already have Garrett Cleavinger on the IL.
Casey Legumina — Sinker down 1.5 MPH (91.4 vs. 92.9 season avg)

Atlanta Braves

Raisel Iglesias – SV (32)	1.0 IP	1 ER	1 H	1 BB	1 K	3 Whiffs	22% CSW

Didier Fuentes — Four-Seamer down 1.0 MPH (96.2 vs. 97.2 season avg). The velocity fluctuates for him, not a huge concern.
Raisel Iglesias, just hang in there for two more weeks.

HOU 2 – PHI 1

Bennett Sousa — Four-Seamer up 1.3 MPH (95.3 vs. 94.0 season avg)
Bryan Abreu — Four-Seamer up 2.2 MPH (97.8 vs. 95.6 season avg). This is what we’ve been waiting for…right? He still led with his cutter over the fastball/slider here, which isn’t ideal, but it worked, and the fastball/slider were great.

Philadelphia Phillies

Smith took a 0-0 hanging splitter deep to the left here off Jhoan Duran for the game winner. The splitter reliability has been a minor concern, but he did throw more four-seamers here than splitters, at least. He just threw the one mistake splitter.

TEX 3 – SEA 4

The stuff looked much better for Robert Garcia here, with the changeup generating both whiffs.

Seattle Mariners

Andrés Muñoz had no command of any of his pitches here, but still found a way to close this one out.

COL 3 – NYY 10

Colorado Rockies

Brent Headrick — Four-Seamer down 1.4 MPH (92.8 vs. 94.2 season avg)
Luis Gil — Four-Seamer up 1.2 MPH (96.6 vs. 95.4 season avg). Gil’s three-pitch mix is better than anyone else’s in this bullpen; the command just needs to be much better. He has the makings of a great reliever, though.

PIT 2 – CHW 0

Pittsburgh Pirates

Mason Montgomery – SV (12)	1.0 IP	0 ER	1 H	0 BB	1 K	1 Whiffs	36% CSW

Mason Montgomery — Sinker usage 50% (+37 pts vs. 13% usual); Four-Seamer usage 21% (-32 pts vs. 54% usual). He just keeps cruising. His ten saves since the start of August are tied for the second most in baseball.

Bryan Hudson — Four-Seamer down 1.9 MPH (90.1 vs. 92.0 season avg)
Jordan Hicks — Sinker up 0.8 MPH (99.9 vs. 99.1 season avg). Sinker was able to dominate in this one.
