MLB Rumor Roundup: 6/6

Diving into recent talk, transactions, and trends around the league!

Welcome back to another week of Rumor Roundup, where we dive into all the recent talk, transactions, and trends from around the league, balancing both fantasy baseball implications and real-world baseball analysis through the lens of a front office.

Featured Story

This week wasn’t big on news regarding injuries, and that’s a good thing! By far the biggest update fans around the league received was that Blue Jays’ RHP Dylan Cease was slated to make a rehab appearance with their Triple-A squad.

Cease, 30, has pitched to a stellar 3.05 ERA/2.59 FIP with a monster 26% K-BB rate this season through 62 innings prior to dealing with a hamstring injury. He tossed four innings and struck out six batters on Friday against Boston’s Triple-A lineup — though it certainly wasn’t his best stuff. The important thing is Cease bounced back well and is on pace to return to Toronto’s rotation some time next week, per multiple reports.
