Two-Start Pitchers: 9/4 – 9/10

• José Berríos is the poster child for inconsistency (case in point, back to back 5 ER starts), but as the pool of usable pitchers gets smaller seemingly week by week, he’s an auto-start against two of the four lowest scoring teams in the majors.

• Justin Steele and Merrill Kelly aren’t considered fantasy aces, but when the book is closed on the 2023 season, their pitching line will look awfully close to that of the upper echelon of arms. They’re two of the best values from the end of drafts this year.

Most Likely 

• It’s hard to envision a scenario where you’re not starting Tanner Bibee, but the rookie has, at times, looked shakier than his results suggest.

• With consecutive starts of 6 IP and no runs, Jesús Luzardo looks to have weathered the toughest stretch of an otherwise strong campaign. His strikeout upside is more than enough to have him in your lineup, even if the Dodgers and surging Phillies pose a signficant test.

Questionable

• Bryan Woo is this week’s Two Start Streamer of the Week in an albeit difficult set of road matchups. For those willing to sacrifice strikeouts for a potentially safer play, Kyle Hendricks has re-soldified himself as a viable option against average lineups.

• For those willing to take on a gamble, Brandon Pfaadt and Andrew Heaney are potential one-start streamers. You could make the case that Pfaadt is an option for weekly-lineup leagues as well.

Avoid

• Cleveland boasts little threat offensively, but Reid Detmers hasn’t proven to be trustworthy, even in favorable matchups. His stuff has looked tremendous since spring, but it never came together in 2023. You’re best served looking for single-start streamers or relying on higher-floor arms.
