Closing Time 3/12 Update: Top 50 Closers for 2024

Ranking baseball's closers for the 2024 season.

While we shouldn’t be reading much into certain Spring Training numbers, especially given the small sample sizes for relievers, there have been some newsworthy storylines in the closer world that warrant a small update as we enter the thick of draft season. As far as strategy goes, I’m still looking to get two closers from tier 2, and another one or two from tier 4/5. That feels like the best value to be had this draft season, even though it feels like there are a bunch of “safe” closers. we all know there is no such thing. You just have to hope for the best. Ryan Helsley (velo is down), Pete Fairbanks (just made his first appearance Monday), and Tanner Scott (has walked everyone this spring) are still my favorite targets at their current ADP, and could be had at perhaps an even bigger discount because of how their springs have been going. For each issue, I’m not concerned quite yet, as we still have 2+ weeks until games matter.

No concern for Tanner Scott’s control issues? Expected him to be bumped down some…

    j. Duran?

  3. Dale says:

    Drafted last night.

Came away with E Diaz, Doval, Fairbanks, Alvarado, and Mason Miller.

    Think I’m good.

Might need to trade one for a starter.
