Welcome to the RP Roundup, my daily fantasy baseball article reviewing every reliever performance from the previous day.
LAA 7 – DET 1
| Los Angeles Angels | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Drew Pomeranz – HLD (7) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 3 Whiffs | 56% CSW |
| Jose Fermin – HLD (2) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 1 BB | 1 K | 2 Whiffs | 38% CSW |
| Sam Bachman | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 2 BB | 1 K | 5 Whiffs | 38% CSW |
| Ryan Zeferjahn | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 2 BB | 1 K | 3 Whiffs | 32% CSW |
- Sam Bachman’s command had been better lately, but he abandoned the sinker after a leadoff double here and threw 10 sliders and 8 changeups, with the locations being all over the place.
| Detroit Tigers | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Drew Sommers | 0.1 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 1 Whiffs | 40% CSW |
| Brenan Hanifee | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 1 Whiffs | 50% CSW |
| Ricky Vanasco | 2.0 IP | 4 ER | 4 H | 2 BB | 1 K | 5 Whiffs | 30% CSW |
- We saw Drew Sommers first appearance of 2026, as the big lefty only faced one hitter, but the stuff looked solid overall. This team could use a trusty left-handed reliever, as Tyler Holton has fallen off.
MIN 2 – CHW 6
| Minnesota Twins | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Andrew Morris | 1.1 IP | 0 ER | 2 H | 0 BB | 3 K | 5 Whiffs | 38% CSW |
| Travis Adams | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 1 Whiffs | 25% CSW |
| Taylor Rogers | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 0 Whiffs | 43% CSW |
| Anthony Banda | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 1 BB | 0 K | 0 Whiffs | 14% CSW |
| Yoendrys Gómez | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 2 K | 2 Whiffs | 29% CSW |
- Technically not a save chance, but it’s still good to see Yoendrys Gómez in the ninth inning with a four-run lead. Are the Twins finally ready to let someone run with this closer role? Gómez isn’t someone to get overly excited about, but he could have some value if he locks down this role.
| Chicago White Sox | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Jordan Leasure | 1.0 IP | 1 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 1 Whiffs | 13% CSW |
| Tyler Davis | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 2 K | 5 Whiffs | 54% CSW |
| Grant Taylor | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 2 Whiffs | 29% CSW |
- Jordan Leasure’s fastball velocity was down 1.5 MPH here, and he’s still well off the fantasy radar, but at least we saw Grant Taylor’s velocity back to normal here.
ATL 10 – BOS 2
| Atlanta Braves | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tyler Kinley | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 2 Whiffs | 29% CSW |
| Reynaldo López | 2.0 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 0 Whiffs | 26% CSW |
| Dylan Dodd | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 2 K | 3 Whiffs | 22% CSW |
- Dylan Dodd has only thrown 9.2 innings this year, but he’s looked dominant so far with a 28% K-BB and both Stuff+ (111) and PLV (5.24) back it up. Don’t sleep on him becoming a significant holds league option eventually.
| Boston Red Sox | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tyron Guerrero | 0.1 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 1 Whiffs | 25% CSW |
| Danny Coulombe – L (2) | 0.0 IP | 3 ER | 1 H | 2 BB | 0 K | 0 Whiffs | 10% CSW |
| Greg Weissert | 1.0 IP | 2 ER | 1 H | 1 BB | 0 K | 2 Whiffs | 12% CSW |
| Jovani Morán | 2.0 IP | 1 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 2 K | 6 Whiffs | 29% CSW |
| Ryan Watson | 1.0 IP | 2 ER | 2 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 2 Whiffs | 25% CSW |
- Within this pretty depressing group of relievers, there’s a glimmer of hope in Jovani Morán still. He left a cutter (the only one he threw) up to Harris that he turned on for a HR, but other than that, he looked solid again. The changeup is elite; he just needs to pick and choose his fastball usage/location.
TOR 2 – BAL 1
| Toronto Blue Jays | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Braydon Fisher | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 2 Whiffs | 50% CSW |
| Jeff Hoffman – W (4) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 2 K | 5 Whiffs | 33% CSW |
| Tyler Rogers – HLD (10) | 0.2 IP | 0 ER | 2 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 1 Whiffs | 20% CSW |
| Louis Varland – SV (8) | 1.1 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 2 Whiffs | 46% CSW |
- No strikeouts from Louis Varland is a bummer, but he still pushed through with no runs allowed. Nothing to worry about, though, the stuff looked great, and the Orioles were just super aggressive against him.
| Baltimore Orioles | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Grant Wolfram | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 0 Whiffs | 12% CSW |
| Anthony Nunez – L (2) | 1.0 IP | 1 ER | 1 H | 3 BB | 2 K | 4 Whiffs | 29% CSW |
| Cameron Weston | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 1 BB | 1 K | 1 Whiffs | 24% CSW |
- Anthony Nunez allowed a leadoff double on a hanging sweeper before losing his command completely. The first walk was an intentional one to Vlad Jr., but he had trouble finding the zone against the lefties here in Varsho and Pinango.
CHC 7 – PIT 2
| Chicago Cubs | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Hoby Milner – HLD (4) | 0.2 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 3 Whiffs | 29% CSW |
| Caleb Thielbar – HLD (2) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 2 BB | 2 K | 7 Whiffs | 37% CSW |
| Trent Thornton | 2.0 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 1 Whiffs | 18% CSW |
- Caleb Thielbar looked better here, throwing all three of his breakers almost equally, and it’s nice to see him throw the sweeper more, as it may be his best secondary offering. Right now, he only throws it to lefties, though.
| Pittsburgh Pirates | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mason Montgomery | 1.2 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 2 K | 2 Whiffs | 30% CSW |
| Brandan Bidois | 1.0 IP | 2 ER | 3 H | 2 BB | 1 K | 2 Whiffs | 29% CSW |
| Yohan Ramírez | 1.0 IP | 1 ER | 1 H | 1 BB | 1 K | 2 Whiffs | 25% CSW |
- It’s not even a good changeup, but we saw three more from Mason Montgomery here, and just the willingness to show it is kind of exciting. He even opened his outing with one and threw one 3-1 to Suzuki here that had him way out in front. He probably doesn’t need the pitch, but it can’t hurt if he uses it wisely.
HOU 5 – TEX 1
| Houston Astros | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Nate Pearson | 0.2 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 1 BB | 2 K | 5 Whiffs | 40% CSW |
| Steven Okert – HLD (6) | 0.2 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 0 Whiffs | 10% CSW |
| Enyel De Los Santos | 0.2 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 1 BB | 1 K | 2 Whiffs | 19% CSW |
| Bryan Abreu | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 2 K | 2 Whiffs | 50% CSW |
- I wish this Bryan Abreu outing were the one that we could finally get excited about, but it wasn’t (see below). Just a case of him facing a bad lineup and getting lucky, as the stuff (velo still way down) and command (3/12 pitches in the zone) were still bad. With Josh Hader not looking like himself in his potential final rehab outings, it could make things interesting here, but the only reliever who truly shows closer stuff right now is Nate Pearson (the command is not trustworthy yet, though).

| Texas Rangers | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cal Quantrill | 2.0 IP | 0 ER | 2 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 3 Whiffs | 24% CSW |
- Cal Quantrill is fine as a mop-up reliever, but there’s nothing to get excited about here with a below-average arsenal.
