Starting Pitcher Streamer Rankings Fantasy Baseball: 6/27 & 6/28 & 6/29

Best SP streamers and rankings for today & tomorrow & day after.

SP Streamers for today's, tomorrow's and the day after tomorrow's games for fantasy baseball.

Every day of the 2025 baseball season, I'll be looking at today's and tomorrow's slate of scheduled starting pitchers and ranking their matchups for your fantasy baseball streams.

There's a lot that goes into this and you can hang out with me on Playback.tv/pitcherlist to talk about the specific ranks as I make them every weekday morning from 10am - 12pm ET. If you have questions about these ranks, please ask during the morning Playback AMA. Those are my office hours as I generally don't answer comments on the site.

There are four tiers to these rankings with 12-teamers in mind:

Auto-StartJust do it. Don't overthink this, start the man. This includes "if I have them rostered, I'm starting them" pitchers.

Probably Start - I'm likely starting these arms, though I recognize there is more risk than we'd like there to be. Either it's a tough matchup for a good-not-elite pitcher or a weak lineup for a volatile arm. These pitchers have a 50% or greater chance of performing well in my view and I'm starting them in the majority of situations.

Questionable StartThink of this tier as "I don't want to start these pitchers in a vacuum, but you could do worse." Streamers found in this tier are not pitchers I'm targeting and are only if you are in dire need of one. To play it safe with streaming, just start the Probably Start streamers.

Do Not StartThe reward is not worth the risk. Don't do it. Seriously, these pitchers have a very slim chance of success or sometimes none at all.

Obviously, there will be circumstances where pitchers should move between teams for your situation specifically and these new tiers should act as a little more help than the straight table from last year.

Please keep in mind that streaming is far from a perfect play. In fact, if they work out over half the time, I'd consider it a success. These matchup rankings & streamer picks are going to be wildly different than the actual results throughout the year, so please, have sympathy before the scathing comments and tweets. I'm only trying to help!

There is a second table (and now third for PL Pro members) for tomorrow's starting pitcher matchups as well, helping everyone get a jump on their nightly pickups. Please note that these matchups are subject to change, though, and there will be times when I have the incorrect pitcher going. I thank you for your future understanding.

And of course, there are my streaming picks of the day. Please keep in mind that for my streaming record, I am forced to pick a streamer every day even if they are in the bottom tier. Those highlighted in Green are that day's streaming pick in the second tier and I'd roll with them everywhere. Those in Yellow are in the third tier and should be okay if you're searching for something on a given day, but I don't recommend streaming unless you're in need. Finally, those are Red are those I really don't want to start (they are labeled as "Do Not Start", after all) but have no other choice. Don't stream Do Not Start pitchers unless you are truly desperate. A streaming pick is defined as "rostered in 20% or fewer leagues" according to Fantasy Pros. This really emphasizes the point that I'd be happy if over 50% of these worked. I could do the whole sub 30/40% rostered, but there's no fun in that and it applies to a smaller audience.

As I do my rankings, I thought it would be helpful to showcase a table of how we're ranking offenses, granted by our PLV powered Projections (in alphabetical order by tier):

PLV Projections Team Offense Ranking (6/23 Update)

Remember, these offensive rankings are based on each offense's Process+ so far this year and how we project their lineups moving forward. It means you're going to see a little different offensive rankings than you may see elsewhere and there will always be some surprises. This is based on skills, not purely results!

To spice up these streaming recommendations, I've included our new daily fantasy baseball projections powered by PLV, and I'll be competing against PL Bot to pick the best streaming option each day.

These projections are different from your typical projections as they incorporate our pitch quantifier PLV, assessing pitcher and hitter skills at a much more granular level than your standard box score.

To get access to PL Bot's picks each day, sign up for PL Pro here.

The streaming record is determined by "Was this a productive game for 12-teamers if I started them?" Roughly a "PQS" with a Win and a strikeout per inning with a sub 1.20 WHIP, with a minimum of 5 IP. Close calls are decided by Playback chat.

Note: If no pitcher under 20% rostered would have qualified for a "Streaming Win," no loss is granted.

(Opener) - Outlines that a pitcher is being opened for that day & the pitcher listed will follow the opener.

Friday 6/27 Starting Pitcher Streamer Rankings

Auto-Starts

Logan Gilbert @ TEX - One more start to get his "AGA" tag back.

Dylan Cease @ CIN - It's Cease. You know the drill.

Sonny Gray @ CLE - It's a good matchup and he's been more Sonny than Gray.

Ryan Pepiot @ BAL - Pepiot is cooking right now.

Probably Starts

Will Warren vs. ATH - It's the Athletics away from "Sacré Verde" and Warren's win chance + whiffability makes this a fun one.

Merrill Kelly vs. MIA - Kelly is cruising and the Marlins aren't scary.

David Peterson @ PIT - Peterson's command undulates between games, though even on his off days, he can take down the Pirates.

Landen Roupp @ CHW - It's the White Sox and Roupp could rack up double digit strikeouts.

Jose Quintana vs. COL - Quintana's command is solid and it's "Rockie Road".

José Soriano vs. WSN - Soriano is on such a tear. I'm a little worried we're see his former questionable command with his sinker, but you can't say no.

Cade Horton @ HOU - The toughest on here and I'm a believer in Horton's breakers and cut-fastball.

Questionable Starts

Tomoyuki Sugano vs. TBR - Sugano's splitter and four-seamer command have been great to LHB, but I question his attack to RHB.

Dustin May @ KCR - It's the sweeper and not a whole else at this point. The sinker isn't hitting the edges as it sits under 95 mph. Where's the development?!

Sawyer Gipson-Long vs. MIN - SGL will likely get opened for and I hope we see more of the legit talent inside across more than 65 pitches. I'm wondering if he'll blossom in the second half (give him proper starts!) or if he'll be a 2026 target.

Eury Pérez @ ARI - It's the Sneks, even if I love Pérez's four-seamer, with the slider taking a step forward to RHB last time out.

Brayan Bello vs. TOR - Bello has been better lately with his changeup and sinker. The new cutter is helping, too, though the track record is short.

Mick Abel @ ATL - I believe in Abel over time and his breakers should be better than they were last time out.

José Berríos @ BOS - He's "The Great Undulator".

Luis L. Ortiz vs. STL - Ortiz had success last time and who knows what this "PEAS" will do here.

Do Not Starts

Noah Cameron vs. LAD - It's the Dodgers. I just can't.

Mitch Keller vs. NYM - He's better for QS leagues with a good chance of six frames. Not a great chance to be productive otherwise, though.

David Festa @ DET - Festa bombed last time out and his overall command hasn't locked in yet.

Aaron Civale vs. SFG - I'm still waiting for the breakers and cutter to work well together.

Brandon Walter vs. CHC - We've seen some success from Walter, but this is the Cubs.

Kyle Freeland @ MIL - Freeland has had some success in his road starts and Milwaukee does have an impact of strikeouts by 10%.

Nathan Eovaldi vs. SEA - It's a clear "Still ILL" for a pitcher who hasn't had a rehab start.

Nick Martinez vs. SDP - Martinez was discussed as a bullpen option moving forward. I wouldn't expect him to soar here.

Jake Irvin @ LAA - Irvin isn't in his groove. I hope he is here, though.

Bryce Elder vs. PHI - Elder couldn't handle "Rockie Road" or the Marlins.

Mitch Spence @ NYY - It's the Yankees and how long will he go?

Friday 6/27 Starting Pitcher Streamer Rankings

Saturday 6/28 Starting Pitcher Streamer Rankings

Auto-Starts

Robbie Ray @ CHW - Aces gonna ace.

Bryan Woo @ TEX - You are so close to getting that "AGA" tag back.

Spencer Schwellenbach vs. PHI - This is it. Your moment. Take down the Phils and please get whiffs with the secondaries.

Jesús Luzardo @ ATL - I'm not worried about starting Luzardo these days.

Andrew Abbott vs. SDP - Abbott is on such a heater that you can't deny him a start.

Probably Starts

Clarke Schmidt vs. ATH - Schmidt's cutter has become a beast this season and it's away from "Sacré Verde".

Ben Casparius (Ohtani Opener) @ KCR - We're expecting Casper to follow Shohei Ohtani on Saturday, opening the door for another great Win chance. Let's hope the strikeouts return, too.

Casey Mize vs. MIN - As long as Mize doesn't get cramps again, he should be good to go.

Quinn Priester vs. COL - It's "Rockie Road", even if I'm not a Priester fan. Just throw those sliders down-and-away to their RHB-heavy crew and you'll be fine.

Lucas Giolito vs. TOR - He took down the Jays once before and hopefully he's in a better place to do it again.

Michael Soroka @ LAA - Soroka's curveball is looking filthy. The RHB-stacked Angels lineup plays right into Soroka's strengths and avoids his weakness: A lack of consistent attack to LHB.

Questionable Starts

Zach Eflin vs. TBR - I initially had Eflin in the second tier and I'd rather be conservative after a few shaky outings.

Seth Lugo vs. LAD - Lugo is looking great, but it's the Dodgers. I could go either way here.

Zack Littell @ BAL - Sigh. I don't like rolling with Littell. I don't trust the ERA and WHIP he's put up and the "Dancing With The Disco" approach with splitter strikes is highly suspect. And yet, I get it if you want to "Vargas Rule" against the Orioles.

Kumar Rocker vs. SEA - Rocker's cutter is legit. I'm just hoping he keeps throwing it 40% of the time and can support it properly.

Brandon Pfaadt vs. MIA - Ehhhhh, Pfaadt isn't doing a whole lot to get me excited about him and the Marlins are a little better against RHB.

Sandy Alcantara @ ARI - Alcantara hasn't found his changeup yet, nor the ability to jam RHB inside with heaters. The Sneks are worse, though, and I may be slightly too low here. You know me, I just want to get amped again about him.

Do Not Starts

Slade Cecconi vs. STL - Slade has survived lately and I don't think he'll continue to get away with his mid fastball well over the plate.

Bailey Ober @ DET - You just can't trust him these days. He's far removed across the board from his 2024 self, mostly with his four-seamer velocity and command. Pitching through injury doesn't help things, either.

Adrian Houser vs. SFG - There's a chance for a QS if you're into that. Otherwise, it's not another juice for the squeeze.

Chris Bassitt @ BOS - Same for Bassitt, with a higher risk of destruction in Fenway.

Randy Vásquez @ CIN - Vásquez has been getting the good graces of "Koufax", though GABP may remove BABIP from the equation.

Miles Mikolas @ CLE - Mikolas has a good defense behind him that could help him produce over five frames against a questionable Guardians crew.

Colin Rea @ HOU - Rea isn't the guy to chase these days.

Kyle Hendricks vs. WSN - It's possible Hendricks' changeup can feast against the LHB-heavy lineup. And yet, I'm still not interested.

JP Sears @ NYY - Sears has been trying to make the changeup work. It's a slim probability this is the one where it all comes together.

Bailey Falter vs. NYM - Falter has moments. Unlikely against the Mets.

Paul Blackburn @ PIT - It's the Pirates...? It's possible he steals a Win.

Lance McCullers Jr. vs. CHC - He's returning from the IL, will likely be on a very short leash, is already inefficient as it is, and gets the Cubs. At least you should expect some strikeouts.

Antonio Senzatela @ MIL - Absolutely not.

Sunday 6/29 Starting Pitcher Streamer Rankings

New for PL Pro members - I am making the streaming table for an extra day out (no write-ups as these pitchers change often). I wanted to add a bonus for those who support us without taking anything away from everyone else, and I thought this was a good compromise.
