Weekly Leaders
- David Bednar, Jesse Chavez, Jimmy Herget, Colin Holderman, and Jordan Romano have each picked up 3 SV+HLD’s to begin the season. While 4 of these 5 are on the list, I think it’s safe to say that we can ignore Chavez for the time being, even as the Braves deal with multiple injuries in their bullpen.
Injured List
PITCHER | TIER | INJURY (SURGERY DATE). NOTES |
---|---|---|
Liam Hendriks | 1 | NHL. Currently no timetable to return, but the great news is that he is now cancer free. He should be back before the All-Star break. |
Raisel Iglesias | 1 | Shoulder. Has yet to resume throwing, meaning he is weeks (months?) away still. |
Daniel Hudson | 3/4 | Knee. The team is slow playing his return but he should return by May. |
Daniel Bard | 3/4 | Anxiety. The good news is Bard has been able to throw and is currently with the team, but there’s no timetable for a return. |
Joe Mantiply | 4/5 | Shoulder. Has been throwing bullpens and should return at some point in April. |
Sam Hentges | 4/5 | Shoulder. Making progress and could be back “quickly”. |
Brandon Hughes | 4/5 | Knee. Has been throwing and should be able to return at some point in April. |
Tommy Kahnle | 4/5 | Bicep. Hoping to return early in the season. |
Robert Suarez | 4/5 | Elbow. Not much info on Suárez to this point, and he doesn’t appear to be throwing. |
Collin McHugh | 4/5 | Shoulder. This is considered precautionary, and McHugh should return in April/May. |
Drew Pomeranz | 5/6 | Elbow. Is doing mound work, and could be activated as early as this month. |
Lucas Sims | 5/6 | Back. Still no timetable for Sims as he deals with recurring back spasms. |
Tejay Antone | 5/6 | Elbow. Suffered a setback in TJS rehab and has no timetable to return. |
Garrett Crochet | 6/7 | TJS (4/5/22). Should return around/before the All-Star break. |
Codi Heuer | 6/7 | TJS (3/7/22). Look for Heuer to be activated in June if his rehab goes well. |

Matt Brash stock on the rise BIG TIME
You can skip the +7 on Kenley and just put him in tier 1. Literally nothing is more reliable in baseball than Kenley as a top RP. Someday it will end but it really isn’t too complicated. People have been getting him wrong for years now. It really is not hard!
