Today marks the unveiling of Pitcherlist’s Prospect Pitcher List, it is designed to help get you all caught up and informed on MLB prospects for your fantasy baseball leagues. We do apologize for the delay between our positional rankings and the top 150 lists – we encountered some technical difficulties along the way. Although this table is static, we are working toward crafting a fluid Hitter/Pitcher Lists as our leader Nick uses in his Pitcher List. Our goal is now to have that ready by August to demonstrate the shift in rankings month-to-month.
Without further ado, my colleague Adam Garland and I have released our rankings for each position and now present our mid-season top 150 pitchers. The rankings are geared toward fantasy baseball. If you notice, we also made a slight departure from traditional rankings and kept our rankings separated by hitters and pitchers. We feel that such general comparisons between hitters and pitchers are, at the end of the day, impossible to create comparative values – particularly in the minor leagues. So, to mirror our MLB lists – we have opted to keep the general comparisons between respective positions. What did we get right? What did we get wrong? If you have a specific valuation you’d like advice on – drop us a line, after all, we’re here for your dynasty. Cheers!

Missed the Cut:
Gregory Soto, Sean Hjelle, Denyi Reyes (SP/RP), Phil Bickford, Osiel Rodriguez, Tony Gonsolin, Francisco Morales, Freddy Tarnok, Jimmie Sherfy, Yefry Ramirez, Luis Oviedo, Wyatt Marks, Sam McWilliams, Tyler Phillips.
Isn’t Chris Paddack a part of the Padres organization? And isn’t there some worry that his curveball hasn’t developed a ton just yet? I almost took him in an FYPD, but went with Graterol over him because I worry that Paddack will end up as a 2 pitch pitcher.
His fastball and changeup are definitely what has gotten Paddack by thus far, but his changeup is starting to look above average. If his changeup sticks – he’ll be a solid 3 pitch pitcher. I think its reasonable to draft Graterol over Paddack – I think Graterol could have a higher ceiling, but Paddack’s floor is much higher.
Awesome job with the prospect lists!!!! Just wondering why no Alex Reyes? I believe he’s still a prospect.
Keep up the great work and I always look forward to my morning read on your site.
Mike
Reyes has pitched 50 innings exactly — the cutoff for rookie status. Thanks!
Just fwiw, over 50 is the cutoff, so Reyes is still rookie eligible.
Sean Doolittle & Ryan Madson for Blake Treinen, Jesus Luzardo & Sheldon Neuse….wow did Oakland do well on this trade!
Luzardo has to be up next year right? The guy is showing Ace type of stuff this year and made the Angels starting lineup look silly this spring.
I’m thinking so, yeah. Maybe even a taste of September this year then a mid-April call-up in 2019. Then again, it is Oakland – so perhaps 2020 is more of a realistic projection.
What are your thoughts about Domingo Acevedo? I would think he’d be a top 150 pitching spec.
