Jovani Morán — Four-Seamer up 0.8 MPH (93.4 vs. 92.6 season avg). Moran continues to be a rock in this bullpen thanks to that filthy changeup of his and the four-seamer was great here as well.

Toronto Blue Jays

Louis Varland — Four-Seamer up 1.0 MPH (99.7 vs. 98.7 season avg). Varland gave up a leadoff double to Duran before Seigler bunted him over to third, but Varland got Monasterio to strike out and Sogard to groundout to end the game. Either way, the stuff looked great, and we’ll thank the Red Sox for sacrificing an out with that bunt after the leadoff double.

NYM 8 – ATL 5

Kodai Senga — Four-Seamer up 1.0 MPH (97.3 vs. 96.3 season avg). Senga certainly still has some stuff left in the tank, and the fork was responsible for the two strikeouts and whiffs here. The fastball was good here, but is the command going to be consistent enough for him to have success in this role?

Rico Garcia — Four-Seamer down 0.8 MPH (94.6 vs. 95.4 season avg); Slider usage 69% (+48 pts vs. 21% usual). It was a fun run, folks. Not just the fastball, but the slider was bad here too.

Jonathan Bowlan with his first career save here, and the stuff was fantastic as usual (mixed in a nasty changeup here). He’s far and away the second-best reliever in this bullpen right now.

St. Louis Cardinals

Luis Gastelum has a great sweeper, noones denying that. The four-seamer looked competent enough here to provide hope that he may be a long-term bullpen piece (and the changeup did most of the work for him as well).

TEX 4 – LAA 1

Jacob Latz — Four-Seamer down 0.9 MPH (93.8 vs. 94.7 season avg). Don’t love the lower velocity here, but Latz does ramp up/down depending on the situation and score, so with a three-run lead, the lower velocity makes sense, I suppose. As long as it isn’t a trend.

Ben Joyce’s fastball looked great here once again, and he even mixed in two sliders that looked promising (despite the location up in the zone). Please just stay healthy.
Samy Natera Jr. — Four-Seamer up 0.8 MPH (95.5 vs. 94.7 season avg). Still just dominating with his fastball, but also got three whiffs on four sliders here.

COL 0 – ARI 9

Tyler Wells now has 8 strikeouts over his first 4.1 IP with the Rays, upping his K rate to nearly 27% for the season. Trust the Rays to get the most out of him, which here was just his cutter and changeup.

Mason Miller did not have great command of his fastball here and was bailed out by a caught stealing, but it’s at least nice to see that even on days he can’t locate his fastball, he’s able to at least drop his slider in for strikes.

HOU 6 – SFG 3

Josh Hader went two innings for the first time in a year (the last time was his final outing of 2025 before landing on the IL). Hader looked great here, though, and only needed 22 pitches to get six outs, so there’s not much concern here.

Keaton Winn — Sinker down 1.2 MPH (94.2 vs. 95.4 season avg). Just not the same guy he was earlier in the year.
Dylan Smith at least was given the save chance here, and the final three pitches are what got him here. He had Smith down 0-2 with two outs and just a runner on 1B before a wild pitch, and a bouncing groundball through the right side (.140 xBA) wound up the game-tying single. He’s still easily the best reliever in this bullpen and the only real closer option this team has, so I wouldn’t be too worried about this.

Jose Cuas does have a pretty good sweeper and funky arm angle, but not sure what the upside is here.

Edwin Díaz — Four-Seamer up 0.9 MPH (97.1 vs. 96.2 season avg). Better. Díaz got Massey to strike out on a slider down and in before Collins flew out to the warning track (.370 xBA), and Isbel hit a ball 104 MPH (.410 xBA) right at Freeman for the final out of the game.
