Orlando Ribalta — Four-Seamer up 0.9 MPH (97.8 vs. 96.9 season avg). Solid bounce-back effort here from Ribalta (and the bullpen as a whole), and interesting to see Ribalta pitch after Beeter for once.

Riley O’Brien — Sinker down 1.4 MPH (96.5 vs. 97.9 season avg). Better from O’Brien here, who basically just threw his sinker middle/middle and challenged the Orioles hitters to hit it. Whatever works, I guess. I just can’t believe the Cardinals continue to roll out the same trio in the later innings, especially with how dominant Luis Gastelum has been this month.

Steven Okert — Four-Seamer down 1.3 MPH (89.9 vs. 91.2 season avg). I’m worried, but we’re so close to September. Can he just hold on for one more month?.
AJ Blubaugh — Four-Seamer up 1.0 MPH (96.7 vs. 95.7 season avg). Blubaugh has been super inconsistent throughout the year, but if the stuff he showed here can sustain over the next month, he can be a difference maker for this bullpen. A big IF, as I’m fairly certain I’ve said “if the stuff he showed here can sustain” about Blubaugh multiple times this year (spoiler alert: it did not sustain).

New York Yankees

Justin Topa — Sinker up 1.5 MPH (94.9 vs. 93.4 season avg). Topa threw mostly sweepers and cutters here, and maybe that approach can work every now and then, but this is far from interesting.

We haven’t seen Anthony Gose pitch since 2024 (or hit since 2016), but there’s still something left in the tank from a stuff standpoint. What kind of command are we going to get, though?

Antonio Senzatela — Sinker usage 56% (+40 pts vs. 16% usual). This is the approach the Brewers want with Senzatela: turning him into a sinker-baller groundball specialist.
DL Hall — Sinker up 0.9 MPH (96.0 vs. 95.1 season avg). The stuff looks great right now, maybe the best we’ve seen from Hall in some time. Romero and Uribe return soon (maybe this weekend?), so what roles will the likes of Senzatela and Hall (and Patrick) have?

New York Mets

Edgardo Henriquez threw just five pitches in (or near) the zone here, but it goes to show how nasty his stuff is that he produced this line.

This meltdown from Kevin Ginkel is a bit overdue, as he’d been outperforming his peripherals/stuff this season. A couple of bloops mixed in, but that will happen when you are not a big bat misser (and Ginkel does give up his fair share of hard contact).

San Francisco Giants

Carson Seymour — Four-Seamer up 1.0 MPH (97.9 vs. 96.9 season avg). He’s been throwing well lately, but he still has a deep starter’s arsenal. I’m not sure there’s one standout pitch.
Ryan Walker — Sinker down 1.2 MPH (93.9 vs. 95.1 season avg). I’d rather see Seymour or even Harris get the next save chance (if not Smith) than recycle back to Walker again.
