Off the list: Jeff McNeil, Jose AltuveCarlos Correa

The plate discipline still leaves little to be desired, but Teoscar Hernández has figured a way around that to post a very solid AVG this year. We know about the power he possesses, but it has been the batting average that has set him apart this year and his .376 BABIP may have something to do with it. Tough to say he will be able to keep this up in the future but as for 2021, there is no reason to expect anything less during the final weeks.

Hitting leadoff for the Red Sox, Enrique Hernández has been excellent over the past month. With 20 runs scored during that time, Kiké is on a full-season pace of over 100 runs. As long as he remains in that position of the order, he will be worth rostering in deeper leagues.

Is Joey Votto back? After about three-plus years of mediocrity, Votto has been the hottest hitter on the planet over the past month and has catapulted himself back into relevancy. The former MVP now owns a .282/.374/.580 slash line with 26 HRs and 75 RBI across only 88 games. The veteran first baseman has launched 15 bombs over his last 26 games and will be an interesting name on draft boards next year.

With four wins over his last six starts, including two complete games, Zack Wheeler now has ten victories on the year. The veteran right-hander somehow has seven losses despite a pristine 2.56 ERA. He is going to be one of the first arms off the board in drafts next year.

You might be seeing Brent Suter’s name and thinking “but isn’t Suter a relief pitcher?”; you would be right. But the lefty has vultured his way to 11 victories out of the pen. That is more than Gerrit Cole, Zack Wheeler, and Lucas Giolito, among other studs. Deeper leagues should give him a look as he is not only tallying up wins, but he has pitched very effectively for the Brew Crew.

Since May 11th, Logan Webb has had a 1.53 ERA across ten starts. There are few in the game with a lower mark, and not only is Webb limiting damage, but he is striking out more than a batter per inning on the year. With a 2.96 ERA over 17 games, if Webb is somehow floating around on your wire, go pick him up NOW.

Elieser Hernandez was activated off the IL this past weekend and made what was just his third start of the year. Hernandez is the forgotten part of that young core of arms that the Marlins have and he impressed in his first start back from a quad injury. The 26-year old has shown the ability to miss bats so he should be scooped up for the stretch run.
