2026 Minor League Injury Preview
The table below represents all of the major injuries for Minor League players entering the 2026 season, sorted by team, league, and division. Although this is a more straightforward exercise for major league organizations, there is no dedicated resource for minor league players. Note that this report does include some players who should be healthy by the start of the season. It was deemed necessary to highlight any health issues they were experiencing after the end of the 2025 season.

AL East
- Enrique Bradfield Jr. – Finished the season healthy & played in the AFL.
- Marcelo Mayer – injured the right TFCC (Triangular Fibrocartilage Complex). Last played on July 23, 2025. He hit a home run in his first spring training game.
- Zach Fogell – Second TJ surgery
- Henry Lalane – He pitched on at least six days’ rest between his seven starts until the end of 2025.
- Theo Gillen – He was limited to only 73 games in 2025 due to a calf injury to start the season, and then suffered a broken middle finger during a steal attempt that ended his season. He last played 8/14/25.
- Brian Van Belle – Prior TJ in 2015.
- Xavier Isaac – Expected to be ready for spring.
- Brayden Jones – Did not pitch all season.
- Ricky Tiedemann – Entered camp healthy, but was then shut down on 2/24/26 with left elbow soreness. Imaging showed no structural damage, but he has yet to resume throwing.
- Adrian Pinto – According to reports, “he’s now spent multiple months on the IL for four consecutive seasons.”
AL Central
- Noah Schultz – Missed 1.5 months with an injury and then had the season end early, but “it feels great” now. Last pitched on 8/30/25.
- Aldrin Batista – Made six short appearances in August and September.
- Braden Montgomery – Suffered a small fracture in his right foot in September that ended his regular season. He was able to play 12 games in the Arizona Fall League, where he hit .326/.527/.634 with one home run and three stolen bases.
- Alexander Albertus – Had a delayed start to 2025 after he had surgery on November 13, 2024, to reset a fractured left tibia. He then appeared in 8 games before being shut down for the rest of the season after June 23, 2025, for an unspecified reason.
- Javier Mogollon – Reaggravated and last played on 6/29/25.
- Travis Bazzana – Played in 84 games despite lingering oblique injuries (internal right oblique strain). His season ended on the injured list with left flank soreness on September 11, 2025.
- Chase DeLauter – Limited to 42 games after starting the season on the injured list after undergoing bilateral core muscle surgery. Then, he underwent surgery to repair a right hamate fracture in his wrist in July 2025. He was able to return to play in two postseason games.
- Jaison Chourio – Finished the season healthy.
- Khal Stephen – Missed a month in 2025 with a shoulder impingement issue. He was able to throw four starts and 11.1 innings before the end of the season.
- Daniel Espino – Had not pitched in a competitive game since 2022 before gracing the mound on September 20, 2025. He had been dealing with multiple setbacks on his shoulder after multiple surgeries. Date unknown. He was able to throw in four games in the Arizona Fall League.
- Jace LaViolette – Suffered a broken left hand on May 22, 2025, after being hit by a pitch. He then underwent a cleanup procedure on his left hand early in the summer.
- Juan Brito – Suffered a thumb injury that required surgery with a recovery timeline of almost two months. Then he underwent surgery to repair his left hamstring sometime in September or October. He last played on July 4, 2025.
- Bryce Rainer – MLB.com reports that he is “in line to be ready for the start of the season” as of 2/11/25.
- Josue Briceño – No timetable set after surgery to repair a tendon in his right wrist. His spring training ended on 2/28/26 with only one extra base hit in 12 plate appearances.
- Franyerber Montilla – Sustained a torn ACL during an infield collision, according to Lynn G. Henning of the Detroit News, in one of his knees. He last played on July 18, 2025.
- Jake Miller – Added to the 40-man and is in a throwing program this spring training. Last pitched on 9/4/25.
- Blake Mitchell – Suffered a broken right hamate bone in February. Although there were a few setbacks, he played regularly all the way from June 23 until the end of the season.
- Emmanuel Rodriguez – Missed some time early in the year with a left thumb sprain, then had a right injury in early June, and finally an oblique strain in late July that had him returning for the final three weeks of the Triple-A season and Dominican Winter League.
- Alan Roden – Last played 8/24/25, but has appeared in numerous spring training games.
- C.J. Culpepper – Missed two-plus months with a pinched nerve in his right elbow and got sick with a virus multiple times. It appears he was healthy enough to build up to five innings in a game on September 10.
- Charlee Soto – Right tricep strain and surgery to remove a partially detached bone spur in his right arm, according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune. He last pitched on April 17, 2025, but is expected to be ready for spring training.
- Walker Jenkins – Suffered a Grade 1 left hamstring strain while running on the basepaths, and it is unclear how long he will be out.
- Matt Canterino – Has not thrown a competitive pitch since 2022 after multiple shoulder surgeries. He missed the entire 2025 season after a March shoulder surgery.
AL West
- Gunnar Hoglund – Last pitched 5/31/25. Had a knee sprain occur during camp, which will likely delay his 2026 start.
- Rio Foster – Hopefully, he heals up fully!
- Barrett Kent – Unclear why he last pitched on August 12, 2025.
- Caden Dana – This illness can cause deep fatigue, so it’s positive that he has been throwing on flat ground for a few weeks.
- Ryan Sloan – 2–3 week recovery timeline. Looked sharp in his first spring outing.
- Jonny Farmelo – Torn ACL took him down in 2024; he was limited to just 29 games because of a rib cage stress reaction. He did get 101 plate appearances in the Arizona Fall League, where he hit two home runs with 11 stolen bases and an .847 OPS.
- Emiliano Teodo – 2-3 weeks behind schedule. Pitched in 13 games to end the season, but did miss 2 months in 2025 due to a back injury.
- Winston Santos – Took a comeback off his hand in batting practice. Out for 4-6 weeks.
- Sebastian Walcott – He played only one AFL game after playing 124 games in 2025. He had internal brace surgery and could be back for game action in August.
- Caden Scarborough – After successful removal of the melanoma, a form of skin cancer, he will now begin a “normal” buildup since arriving at camp 2/26/26.
- Paul Bonzagni – Prior college elbow surgery.
- Cody Freeman – Sidelined for 4-6 weeks.
- Izack Tiger – Suffered a “minor” setback and is not scheduled to face live hitters until the end of spring training.
NL East
- Didier Fuentes – Suffered right shoulder inflammation after his last start on August 2 and was shut down for the rest of the season.
- Hurston Waldrep – Surgery on right elbow will sideline him for around 3 months.
- Thomas White – Suffered a Grade 1 right oblique strain and is out of action for 3-4 weeks.
- Aiva Arquette – Suffered a groin injury in the offseason that was still irritating him in camp. Will resume activity in 4-6 weeks.
- Tristan Stevens – Last pitched 4/17/25.
- PJ Morlando – After multiple injuries, Morlando last played on 8/27/25 and played 18 games in the AFL.
- Jace Hampson – Last pitched 7/20/25.
- Bryce Montes de Oca – Second TJ surgery.
- Moises Chace – Exact date unconfirmed.
- Aidan Miller – Did not play in the Arizona Fall League due to “some nagging things physically.” After reporting to camp, he has stopped swinging a bat as of 2/25/26 because he is dealing with lower-back soreness.
- Alejandro Rosario – Underwent Tommy John surgery in early 2026 despite having had an elbow injury for at least a year. It was announced that he was having surgery in February 2025. Yet, Chris Young, Rangers GM, reports that he will not pitch until 2027.
- Devin Fitz-Gerald – Suffered a shoulder injury that ended his season on July 2, 2025. It is unclear what the severity is.
- Tyler Stuart – Possibly second TJ?
- Dylan Tebrake…last pitched in April 2025. Undisclosed injury.
- Ethan Petry – Had an AC Joint shoulder strain in April, but played 24 games through 9/7/25.
NL Central
- Kevin Alcantara – Finished season with CHC.
- Jonathon Long – Sprained left elbow in a collision at first base, but has swung a bat and is not playing in the WBC.
- Brody McCullough – Unknown date, but last pitched 5/10/25.
- Cole Mathis – Missed four months with undisclosed injury and played one game on 9/6/25.
- Julian Aguiar – Is “without restrictions” and competing for the final spot in the rotation. Last pitched in MLB 9/19/24.
- Luke Holman – Last pitched on 4/13/25 after suffering an elbow injury, with unconfirmed reports that it required surgery.
- Ty Floyd – Last pitched on 5/16/25. Did not pitch at all in 2024 due to a shoulder injury.
- Robert Gasser – Returned to the mound in July 2025 at Triple-A Nashville before finally getting back with Milwaukee for two appearances in September.
- Cole Phillips – Second TJ.
- Bishop Letson – Made six starts after returning from a three-month absence due to a shoulder injury. Has been sitting 97 mph on the four-seamer in spring training.
- Jared Jones – 10–12 month recovery.
- Endy Rodríguez – UCL surgery in 2023. Last played 6/6/25.
- Tyler Callihan – Inserted metal plates and 12 screws on both sides of his left forearm 5/6/25. In July, Callihan underwent his second operation to repair torn cartilage and ligaments on the outside of his left wrist. In September, doctors removed the plate from the ulna bone. Should be healthy.
- Brandon Clarke – Dealt with nagging blister issues and numbness in his fingers since entering pro ball, and it was determined they were caused by an aneurysm in his left arm that led to circulation problems.
- Tink Hence – Last pitched on 7/3/25, but did throw a few innings in spring training on 2/24/26.
- Ixan Henderson – He was shut down from throwing with a left flexor strain. Imaging did not show any structural damage.
NL West
- Cristian Mena – Continued a throwing program on 9/1/25 after last throwing on 6/6/25. However, he has been shut down from throwing after “aggravating his right shoulder” in camp.
- Kohl Drake – Hadn’t pitched since 8/20/25 before throwing two innings on 2/22/26.
- Joe Elbis – Was added to the 40-man roster in 2024 and then hit the restricted list for the entire 2025 season.
- Zac Veen – Had a “pretty big substance abuse problem for a few years”. Reportedly at 245 pounds at the start of camp after finishing the season at 202 pounds. Has two home runs over 22 plate appearances in spring training.
- Jared Thomas – Hasn’t begun activities as of yet, and unclear when he will be ready.
- Mike Sirota – Suffered a right knee injury while sliding into a base on 7/5/25. Has one hume run in sparse plate appearances during spring training.
- River Ryan – Should be healthy. Last pitched on August 10, 2024, with 4.2 scoreless innings with four strikeouts. Has seen three innings of action during spring training.
- Kellon Lindsey – Had an undisclosed injury in mid-May, came back to play four more games before being on the shelf for the rest of the season.
- Cam Leiter – Last pitched on 6/13/25.
- Kyle Hurt – Threw 9.1 innings at AAA in September 2025.
- Ethan Salas – Expected to be healthy. Last played 4/17/25.
- Bradgley Rodriguez – Missed a month in July, but made it back and pitched six games with the Padres in September.
- Matthew Watson – Did not pitch in 2025 due to an undisclosed injury.
- Bryce Eldridge – underwent surgery to remove a bone spur in his left wrist.
- Carlos Gutierrez – Last played on 6/25/25.
- Drake George – Suffered an undisclosed injury on 6/29/25 and didn’t pitch again.
