Welcome to the RP Roundup, my daily fantasy baseball article reviewing every reliever performance from the previous day.
CHW 1 – DET 4
| Chicago White Sox | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tyler Davis | 0.2 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 3 BB | 0 K | 1 Whiffs | 14% CSW |
| Joe Rock – L (1) | 2.1 IP | 2 ER | 5 H | 2 BB | 1 K | 4 Whiffs | 26% CSW |
| Trevor Richards | 1.0 IP | 1 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 2 Whiffs | 38% CSW |
| Chris Murphy | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 2 Whiffs | 31% CSW |
- Chris Murphy looks like someone who should stick around in an MLB bullpen with at least an average fastball and plus breakers from the left side. His emergence could mean we see Sean Newcomb move into the rotation on a more permanent basis.
| Detroit Tigers | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tyler Holton – HLD (7) | 2.0 IP | 0 ER | 2 H | 0 BB | 2 K | 4 Whiffs | 38% CSW |
| Kenley Jansen – SV (9) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 1 BB | 0 K | 0 Whiffs | 0% CSW |
- Kenley Jansen threw ten cutters here, five for strikes, and with his velocity down nearly 2 MPH at 90.8 MPH. He can still be effective, but he’s still going to be volatile.
CIN 10 – NYY 2
| Cincinnati Reds | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tejay Antone | 2.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 4 Whiffs | 30% CSW |
| Brock Burke | 1.0 IP | 1 ER | 2 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 1 Whiffs | 23% CSW |
| Chase Petty | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 2 Whiffs | 22% CSW |
- Tejay Antone’s fastball may be terrible, but he may be able to live off his sweeper. Chase Petty, on the other hand, has a good fastball, and the secondaries are solid too; there’s just a lack of command. I’d rather see Petty stick around over Maxwell, though, once Pagán returns.
| New York Yankees | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tim Hill | 0.1 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 0 Whiffs | 0% CSW |
| Jake Bird | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 0 Whiffs | 20% CSW |
| Ryan Yarbrough | 1.0 IP | 4 ER | 5 H | 0 BB | 2 K | 6 Whiffs | 48% CSW |
| Max Schuemann | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 1 BB | 0 K | 0 Whiffs | 14% CSW |
- Jake Bird was optioned to AAA after this, and I know the ratios are bloated, but he’s pitched better than that. The fastballs are bad, and I’m not sure there’s anything he can really do about it, so that will also be a hindrance, but the breakers are legit, and he should be a solid sinker/sweeper guy you can match up against righties.
TOR 8 – CHC 6
| Toronto Blue Jays | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Lazaro Estrada | 2.1 IP | 2 ER | 1 H | 2 BB | 0 K | 3 Whiffs | 22% CSW |
| Jeff Hoffman – W (5) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 1 BB | 1 K | 1 Whiffs | 32% CSW |
| Mason Fluharty | 0.0 IP | 1 ER | 2 H | 1 BB | 0 K | 0 Whiffs | 18% CSW |
| Louis Varland – SV (15) | 2.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 2 K | 2 Whiffs | 29% CSW |
- Louis Varland just continues to be a machine,
| Chicago Cubs | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Ryan Rolison – HLD (1) | 0.2 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 0 Whiffs | 0% CSW |
| Trent Thornton | 0.2 IP | 3 ER | 2 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 2 Whiffs | 15% CSW |
| Caleb Thielbar – HLD (5) | 0.1 IP | 2 ER | 1 H | 1 BB | 0 K | 0 Whiffs | 31% CSW |
| Jacob Webb – L (2) | 0.2 IP | 3 ER | 3 H | 0 BB | 2 K | 3 Whiffs | 30% CSW |
| Ethan Roberts | 1.1 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 0 Whiffs | 21% CSW |
- Jacob Webb was forced into the game early yesterday to clean up Caleb Thielbar’s mess (he looks broken right now), and two singles and a home run later…it looks a lot worse than the reality. The stuff is still there, the command wasn’t even terrible either, so I still believe Webb should be fine moving forward. There’s no alternative to the ninth inning, either, maybe Ryan Rolison, but he just picked up his first hold of the year in this one, and not to mention, I’m not sure he can handle right-handed hitters consistently enough.
SDP 6 – TEX 4
| San Diego Padres | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Kyle Hart | 0.2 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 0 Whiffs | 20% CSW |
| Jason Adam | 1.0 IP | 2 ER | 2 H | 0 BB | 2 K | 7 Whiffs | 32% CSW |
| Adrian Morejon – W (6) | 2.0 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 5 K | 11 Whiffs | 49% CSW |
| Mason Miller – SV (20) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 2 K | 3 Whiffs | 24% CSW |
- Adrian Morejon went off here, facing mostly right-handed hitters, as his changeup was dominant in this one. There are not a lot of relievers as good as Morejon right now, and I know it’s only June, but looking ahead to Morejon being a free agent this offseason, some team should be getting either a closer or starter next year at a bargain price.
| Texas Rangers | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Peyton Gray | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 2 K | 3 Whiffs | 40% CSW |
| Cole Winn – HLD (7) | 0.2 IP | 1 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 2 Whiffs | 29% CSW |
| Tyler Alexander – BS (1) | 0.1 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 1 BB | 0 K | 0 Whiffs | 11% CSW |
| Jacob Latz | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 3 Whiffs | 46% CSW |
| Joe Ross – L (1) | 1.0 IP | 2 ER | 2 H | 1 BB | 0 K | 1 Whiffs | 10% CSW |
- It’s really hard to get excited about anyone in this bullpen outside of Jacob Latz, who was awesome here per usual. Cole Winn wasn’t terrible (the double to Tatis was an elevated fastball Tatis just got on top of), but they need more from him to help get Latz save chances.
WSN 4 – TBR 3
| Washington Nationals | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mitchell Parker – W (3) | 2.1 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 1 BB | 2 K | 3 Whiffs | 31% CSW |
| Brad Lord – HLD (6) | 3.0 IP | 0 ER | 2 H | 0 BB | 5 K | 6 Whiffs | 44% CSW |
| Clayton Beeter – SV (5) | 1.0 IP | 1 ER | 1 H | 2 BB | 2 K | 3 Whiffs | 38% CSW |
- Clayton Beeter had been looking better, but the fastball velocity was back down here once again, and the command was as we’ve come to expect (7/21 pitches in the zone). Beeter has been lucky when it comes to BABIP (.212) and LOB (78%) rates, and he can’t afford to deal with any normal or bad luck with this type of command/control.
| Tampa Bay Rays | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Craig Kimbrel | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 0 Whiffs | 18% CSW |
| Cole Sulser | 2.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 4 K | 4 Whiffs | 40% CSW |
| Cam Booser | 1.0 IP | 1 ER | 3 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 3 Whiffs | 17% CSW |
- Cole Sulser certainly needed this outing as he came into this game with a 15.88 ERA and 3.18 WHIP since returning from the IL (5.2 IP). The changeup still looks great, and the fastball command was much better here.
SFG 3 – MIA 6
| San Francisco Giants | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Matt Gage | 0.2 IP | 1 ER | 2 H | 1 BB | 0 K | 2 Whiffs | 11% CSW |
| JT Brubaker | 2.1 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 1 BB | 2 K | 2 Whiffs | 29% CSW |
| Tristan Beck | 2.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 4 Whiffs | 28% CSW |
- Don’t be fooled by JT Brubaker’s sub-three ERA. The slider is solid, but the fastballs and changeups are terrible, and expect that ERA and WHIP to continue to rise, with most ERA estimators suggesting he’s closer to a 5.00 ERA pitcher.

| Miami Marlins | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tyler Zuber | 1.1 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 2 K | 3 Whiffs | 32% CSW |
| Cade Gibson | 1.0 IP | 1 ER | 1 H | 1 BB | 1 K | 1 Whiffs | 20% CSW |
| Anthony Bender | 0.2 IP | 0 ER | 2 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 3 Whiffs | 54% CSW |
| Pete Fairbanks – SV (11) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 2 K | 4 Whiffs | 53% CSW |
- Pete Fairbanks fastball was awesome here and really all he needed. That’s now zero walks in his past four outings, and as long as he doesn’t allow free passes (which is uncharacteristic for him), he should be just fine.
MIL 3 – ATL 4
| Milwaukee Brewers | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Abner Uribe – HLD (9) | 0.2 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 2 Whiffs | 38% CSW |
| Trevor Megill – HLD (7) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 1 Whiffs | 38% CSW |
| Aaron Ashby – L (1) | 0.1 IP | 2 ER | 2 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 0 Whiffs | 7% CSW |
- This situation was a bit baffling, and I think Pat Murphy may have just been overthinking this as he opted to go with his best reliever and closer in the eighth inning to face the bottom of the Braves lineup, holding onto Aaron Ashby for the ninth to get the Braves top lefties in Baldwin and Olson. Ashby started the inning off by striking out Baldwin, but then Olson singled, and then you’re stuck with a lefty facing a notorious lefty killer in Albies. Hopefully, that’s the last time Murphy tries being cute with his bullpen usage late in games and just gives the ball to Trevor Megill in the ninth moving forward.
| Atlanta Braves | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Didier Fuentes | 1.1 IP | 1 ER | 2 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 2 Whiffs | 18% CSW |
| James Karinchak | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 0 Whiffs | 50% CSW |
| Dylan Lee – W (3) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 2 Whiffs | 36% CSW |
- Dylan Lee remains the best setup man in baseball and was rewarded with a rare win here.
CLE 8 – HOU 1
| Cleveland Guardians | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Matt Festa | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 2 K | 1 Whiffs | 33% CSW |
- Matt Festa is so hit-or-miss that his volatility, combined with his lack of high-leverage usage, still has him off the fantasy radar for now.
| Houston Astros | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Nate Pearson | 1.0 IP | 2 ER | 4 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 4 Whiffs | 21% CSW |
| AJ Blubaugh | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 3 K | 3 Whiffs | 50% CSW |
| Bryan Abreu | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 1 Whiffs | 45% CSW |
- Bryan Abreu threw five cutters, five sliders, and just one fastball here (but it was at 96.6 MPH), but it’s the return of that cutter that we hadn’t seen in the past five games that interests me. It’s not a great pitch, and it’s likely not going to lead to more swing and miss, but it can definitely help him get more outs.
NYM 3 – PHI 15
| New York Mets | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cionel Pérez | 2.0 IP | 3 ER | 4 H | 0 BB | 3 K | 6 Whiffs | 38% CSW |
| Tobias Myers | 2.1 IP | 2 ER | 3 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 5 Whiffs | 22% CSW |
| Zack Short | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 0 Whiffs | 0% CSW |
- Meh.
| Philadelphia Phillies | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Max Lazar | 2.0 IP | 2 ER | 2 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 4 Whiffs | 31% CSW |
| Jhoan Duran | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 2 K | 4 Whiffs | 35% CSW |
- Jhoan Duran just needed some work here.
PIT 1 – COL 2
| Pittsburgh Pirates | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Carmen Mlodzinski | 2.0 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 1 BB | 2 K | 4 Whiffs | 25% CSW |
- Carmen Mlodzinski is still transitioning to his bullpen role, and the velocity isn’t quite where we’d want it to be in this new role, but it’s improving. Last July, he was fully transitioned to a reliever and finished the year with a 1.86 ERA, 0.96 WHIP, and 30% K rate over 38.2 relief innings. The stuff hasn’t been good this season, but maybe with more time in shorter stints, it will get there.
| Colorado Rockies | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Jimmy Herget – HLD (4) | 1.1 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 1 BB | 2 K | 2 Whiffs | 35% CSW |
| Brennan Bernardino – HLD (5) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 2 H | 0 BB | 2 K | 2 Whiffs | 24% CSW |
| Jaden Hill – SV (2) | 0.2 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 3 Whiffs | 23% CSW |
- Blegh.
LAA 7 – ATH 0
| Los Angeles Angels | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Samy Natera Jr. | 1.1 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 1 BB | 2 K | 5 Whiffs | 25% CSW |
| Ryan Zeferjahn | 1.2 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 1 BB | 3 K | 6 Whiffs | 38% CSW |
| Kirby Yates | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 2 K | 2 Whiffs | 40% CSW |
- Samy Natera Jr. and Ryan Zeferjahn both have great stuff; the command/control is just still lagging. I guess we’ll take just the one walk from Zeferjahn, but we can’t truly trust a potential closer with a 17.4% walk rate.
- Just a reminder, the Angels love to use Kirby Yates in these blowout situations in the ninth, with Yates facing three borderline AAA hitters as well. His fastball is still averaging just 90 MPH.
| Athletics | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Scott Barlow | 0.2 IP | 2 ER | 3 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 4 Whiffs | 25% CSW |
| Geoff Hartlieb | 3.0 IP | 1 ER | 3 H | 1 BB | 1 K | 6 Whiffs | 28% CSW |
- This was Geoff Hartlieb’s first innings of 2026, and yep, there’s nothing to see here, moving on…
BAL 3 – LAD 2
| Baltimore Orioles | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Rico Garcia – HLD (10) | 0.2 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 2 K | 2 Whiffs | 45% CSW |
| Grant Wolfram – HLD (8) | 0.1 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 1 Whiffs | 67% CSW |
| Andrew Kittredge – HLD (3) | 0.1 IP | 1 ER | 1 H | 1 BB | 0 K | 1 Whiffs | 10% CSW |
| Yennier Cano – SV (1) | 0.2 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 3 Whiffs | 27% CSW |
- The good news for Rico Garcia here is that his fastball velocity was up in the 96 MPH range, and the changeup looked good (just didn’t locate it well). The bad news is that recent usage patterns confuse me, as I thought he’d get the ninth inning, but it looks like guys like Andrew Kittredge and Yennier Cano may be ahead of him in the pecking order. Cano makes some sense, Kittredge, I’m not sure about.
| Los Angeles Dodgers | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Edgardo Henriquez | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 1 BB | 2 K | 3 Whiffs | 36% CSW |
| Alex Vesia | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 1 BB | 2 K | 5 Whiffs | 50% CSW |
| Jonathan Hernández | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 2 Whiffs | 36% CSW |
- Edgardo Henriquez has the highest average fastball velocity amongst all pitchers since May 15th at 101.3 MPH. Mason Miller is right behind him at 101.2, but Henriquez has just been different since mid-May. Over his span (12.2 IP), Henriquez holds a 2.13 ERA, 0.87 WHIP, and 33%. K rate. His 133 Stuff+ is also the second highest amongst relievers over this span (Tyler Rogers is tough to beat). Henriquez has four holds over this time, but it feels like it should be more? Hopefully, his role continues to grow.
BOS 5 – SEA 1
| Boston Red Sox | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tyron Guerrero | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 2 K | 4 Whiffs | 43% CSW |
| Garrett Whitlock | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 1 Whiffs | 27% CSW |
| Danny Coulombe | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 0 Whiffs | 20% CSW |
- Garrett Whitlock was throwing harder here, almost averaging 96 MPH, and generally speaking, he’s been much better and more consistent lately. What the Red Sox bullpen looks like post-trade deadline remains to be seen, as Whitlock could either be in the closer role or with a different team given his contract status (two, relatively team-friendly team options for 2027-28).
| Seattle Mariners | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| José A. Ferrer | 0.2 IP | 0 ER | 2 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 3 Whiffs | 22% CSW |
| Nick Davila | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 2 BB | 1 K | 4 Whiffs | 29% CSW |
| Michael Rucker | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 2 K | 6 Whiffs | 47% CSW |
| Alex Hoppe | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 2 K | 4 Whiffs | 36% CSW |
- Alex Hoppe had a little extra juice in this one as he was facing the team that traded him away this offseason. I know Bazardo has been better lately, but I could see Hoppe working his way into that top right-handed setup role over him if this velocity can stick (and don’t leave out Michael Rucker either).
MIN 16 – ARI 8
| Minnesota Twins | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Anthony Banda | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 1 Whiffs | 33% CSW |
| Justin Lawrence | 0.2 IP | 5 ER | 2 H | 4 BB | 2 K | 2 Whiffs | 25% CSW |
| Eric Orze | 1.1 IP | 1 ER | 2 H | 1 BB | 0 K | 0 Whiffs | 21% CSW |
| Yoendrys Gómez | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 1 Whiffs | 29% CSW |
- Anthony Banda was just sitting at 97.5 MPH here? The velocity has been trending upward, but 97.5 MPH is way up (up 3.3 MPH from the season average). Maybe some revenge game juice here, as Banda began his MLB career with the Diamondbacks, but Banda has never averaged more than 96 MPH in a season.
| Arizona Diamondbacks | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Yilber Díaz | 0.2 IP | 7 ER | 7 H | 1 BB | 0 K | 4 Whiffs | 25% CSW |
| Philip Abner | 2.2 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 2 BB | 1 K | 4 Whiffs | 14% CSW |
| Ildemaro Vargas | 1.2 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 2 BB | 0 K | 0 Whiffs | 10% CSW |
- Nope.
