Welcome to the RP Roundup, my daily fantasy baseball article reviewing every reliever performance from the previous day.
PIT 2 – CHC 0
| Pittsburgh Pirates | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mason Montgomery (W) | 0.2 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 1 BB | 2 K | 2 Whiffs | 29% CSW |
| Isaac Mattson (HLD) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 1 BB | 0 K | 1 Whiffs | 8% CSW |
| Gregory Soto (HLD) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 2 BB | 0 K | 0 Whiffs | 25% CSW |
| Dennis Santana (SV) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 2 K | 4 Whiffs | 46% CSW |
- Gregory Soto’s stuff was down here, as was the command. The command notoriously comes and goes with Soto, but let’s hope the stuff was just a blip and a potential off day (cold weather?). Soto entered in the 8th to face Happ, Suzuki, and PCA, saving Santana for the bottom third of the order.
- Dennis Santana, on the other hand, looks a little bit better each game, and while the upside doesn’t match Soto’s, this is a reminder that he will still get save chances here.
| Chicago Cubs | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Caleb Thielbar (L) | 0.2 IP | 2 ER | 3 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 2 Whiffs | 19% CSW |
| Ethan Roberts | 1.1 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 2 Whiffs | 24% CSW |
| Riley Martin | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 1 Whiffs | 31% CSW |
- Caleb Thielbar hung a curveball to Reynolds here 0-0, but other than that wasn’t as bad as the line suggests.
- Riley Martin looked great again and should be on the holds radar in deep leagues. Thielbar should be fine, but Martin looks better than Hoby Milner at this point.
ARI 5 – PHI 4
| Arizona Diamondbacks | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Jonathan Loáisiga (HLD) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 3 K | 3 Whiffs | 47% CSW |
| Juan Morillo (HLD) | 1.1 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 3 K | 4 Whiffs | 31% CSW |
| Paul Sewald (SV) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 0 Whiffs | 33% CSW |
- This trio for Arizona looked great last night, and I think we should have faith in them for the time being, at least until reinforcements like Puk and Martinez come later in the year.
| Philadelphia Phillies | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Jonathan Bowlan | 1.1 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 2 Whiffs | 32% CSW |
| Brad Keller | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 0 Whiffs | 29% CSW |
| Orion Kerkering | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 1 Whiffs | 15% CSW |
| Tanner Banks | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 3 Whiffs | 36% CSW |
- Despite the line from Orion Kerkering here (1 H, 0 K), there are a lot of positives to be taken from this outing. The velocity is back to where we want it to be, and the sweeper looked better than it did in his first game back. Plus, that splitter could be a real difference maker vs lefties if he commits to it.

MIA 0 – DET 2
| Miami Marlins | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Lake Bachar | 2.0 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 3 K | 4 Whiffs | 29% CSW |
- Lake Bachar didn’t have his best location here (it’s hit or miss with him typically), but his stuff is good enough to get through two innings unscathed.
| Detroit Tigers | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Brant Hurter (HLD) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 0 Whiffs | 60% CSW |
| Kyle Finnegan (HLD) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 1 BB | 0 K | 1 Whiffs | 33% CSW |
| Kenley Jansen (SV) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 0 Whiffs | 33% CSW |
- Kenley Jansen finally got himself another save and looked good in this one, leaning on that cutter per usual. Even with the lower velocity, the pitch plays up due to its movement profile.
LAA 10 – CIN 2
| Los Angeles Angels | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mitch Farris | 2.0 IP | 1 ER | 2 H | 1 BB | 2 K | 4 Whiffs | 32% CSW |
- It was Mitch Farris‘ day off here, as he didn’t have the best command. He’s not someone worth chasing anyway.
| Cincinnati Reds | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Connor Phillips | 1.2 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 3 K | 5 Whiffs | 38% CSW |
| Sam Moll | 0.1 IP | 2 ER | 0 H | 2 BB | 0 K | 1 Whiffs | 12% CSW |
| Kyle Nicolas | 0.2 IP | 3 ER | 2 H | 2 BB | 1 K | 4 Whiffs | 28% CSW |
| P.J. Higgins | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 2 Whiffs | 40% CSW |
- This is what life can be like for Connor Phillips with just some semblance of command. It’s exciting to dream on, but we still need to see some more consistency with the command.
MIN 4 – TOR 10
| Minnesota Twins | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Anthony Banda | 1.2 IP | 3 ER | 3 H | 1 BB | 1 K | 4 Whiffs | 14% CSW |
| Taylor Rogers | 1.1 IP | 1 ER | 3 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 3 Whiffs | 13% CSW |
| Justin Topa | 1.0 IP | 1 ER | 2 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 0 Whiffs | 0% CSW |
- Nothing to see here from this group of Twins relievers.
| Toronto Blue Jays | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tommy Nance | 0.2 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 0 Whiffs | 30% CSW |
| Joe Mantiply (W) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 3 K | 0 Whiffs | 27% CSW |
| Louis Varland (HLD) | 1.1 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 1 BB | 1 K | 2 Whiffs | 26% CSW |
| Braydon Fisher | 2.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 4 K | 3 Whiffs | 44% CSW |
- Louis Varland continues his dominance, and while this is only his second hold so far, there should be plenty more to come.
ATH 4 – NYM 0
| Athletics | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mark Leiter Jr. Jr. | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 2 Whiffs | 33% CSW |
| Jack Perkins (W) | 2.1 IP | 0 ER | 3 H | 0 BB | 3 K | 6 Whiffs | 27% CSW |
| Scott Barlow (HLD) | 0.2 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 2 Whiffs | 38% CSW |
| Elvis Alvarado | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 3 Whiffs | 30% CSW |
- The sweeper is a legit swing and miss offering for Jack Perkins, but the fastball is more or less average right now. In a weak bullpen, he could still work his way up the leverage ladder rather quickly.
| New York Mets | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tobias Myers | 3.0 IP | 3 ER | 4 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 3 Whiffs | 25% CSW |
| Richard Lovelady | 0.2 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 0 Whiffs | 20% CSW |
- Tobias Myers did a fine job replacing the injured Clay Holmes, and could find himself in the rotation moving forward if Holmes misses time.
NYY 3 – TBR 5
| New York Yankees | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Jake Bird | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 2 H | 0 BB | 2 K | 3 Whiffs | 45% CSW |
| Brent Headrick | 0.1 IP | 1 ER | 2 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 0 Whiffs | 31% CSW |
| Camilo Doval | 0.2 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 1 Whiffs | 12% CSW |
| Ryan Yarbrough | 2.0 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 2 BB | 0 K | 1 Whiffs | 18% CSW |
- It was only 7 cutters, but it’s good to see Camilo Doval’s velo improving with each outing as he sat 97.5 MPH here. Still not the 99-100 range he used to live at, but this could be fine.
| Tampa Bay Rays | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Griffin Jax (HLD) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 2 K | 3 Whiffs | 38% CSW |
| Ian Seymour (HLD) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 3 Whiffs | 35% CSW |
| Hunter Bigge (HLD) | 1.0 IP | 1 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 2 Whiffs | 29% CSW |
| Bryan Baker (SV) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 2 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 5 Whiffs | 44% CSW |
- I wish I had better news regarding Griffin Jax, but unfortunately, he still has no trust or command with his fastballs. He only threw three of them here, but I want to see some improvement, as do the Rays, I’m sure, before they trust him in the ninth inning again.
- Bryan Baker continues to see closer usage, and there’s no reason to think that will change anytime soon. He hung a changeup to Stanton for a single and a slider to Rosario before getting his next three batters. Even with the shaky command, Baker proved his stuff can help him power through.

SFG 6 – BAL 3
| San Francisco Giants | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Keaton Winn | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 2 Whiffs | 27% CSW |
| JT Brubaker | 0.2 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 2 BB | 1 K | 1 Whiffs | 20% CSW |
| Matt Gage | 0.1 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 0 Whiffs | 50% CSW |
| Blade Tidwell | 1.0 IP | 2 ER | 3 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 4 Whiffs | 44% CSW |
- Blade Tidwell left a couple of fastballs middle-middle here that got hammered (perhaps since they were up big), but outside of those two pitches, he continues to show some promising reliever upside. That sweeper can be nasty.
| Baltimore Orioles | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Yennier Cano | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 1 Whiffs | 33% CSW |
| Nick Raquet | 1.0 IP | 3 ER | 2 H | 1 BB | 0 K | 1 Whiffs | 20% CSW |
| Albert Suárez | 2.0 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 3 Whiffs | 28% CSW |
- First time seeing Nick Raquet this year, and it’s not too exciting. He could be on his way out when Andrew Kittredge returns.
CLE 5 – ATL 11
| Cleveland Guardians | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Matt Festa | 0.2 IP | 2 ER | 3 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 2 Whiffs | 18% CSW |
| Peyton Pallette | 1.0 IP | 2 ER | 2 H | 2 BB | 1 K | 2 Whiffs | 24% CSW |
| Kolby Allard | 1.0 IP | 2 ER | 3 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 4 Whiffs | 44% CSW |
- Matt Festa is too hit or miss right now, and with Hunter Gaddis coming back soon, he’s off the holds league radar for the time being.
| Atlanta Braves | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Aaron Bummer | 0.1 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 1 Whiffs | 17% CSW |
| Tyler Kinley (W) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 1 Whiffs | 30% CSW |
| Dylan Lee | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 1 Whiffs | 71% CSW |
| José Suarez | 0.2 IP | 3 ER | 4 H | 1 BB | 1 K | 6 Whiffs | 23% CSW |
| Joel Payamps (HLD) | 0.1 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 0 Whiffs | 33% CSW |
| Osvaldo Bido | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 1 BB | 0 K | 0 Whiffs | 21% CSW |
- Dylan Lee looked dominant, and Tyler Kinley didn’t throw one fastball. All is right here.
CHW 0 – KCR 2
| Chicago White Sox | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Duncan Davitt | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 1 BB | 0 K | 0 Whiffs | 14% CSW |
- I don’t know much about Duncan Davitt, but he has some interesting off-speed pitches and a fastball that could be OK thanks to plus extension and HAVAA.
| Kansas City Royals | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Matt Strahm (HLD) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 0 Whiffs | 29% CSW |
| Lucas Erceg (SV) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 0 Whiffs | 20% CSW |
- Lucas Erceg, despite not having his best stuff and allowing some loud contact, but we will take it for now. I have my doubts about him long-term, but the Royals also don’t have anyone else, so keep riding it til the wheels fall off.

WSN 7 – MIL 3
| Washington Nationals | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Paxton Schultz | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 2 Whiffs | 20% CSW |
| Cionel Pérez | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 0 Whiffs | 21% CSW |
| PJ Poulin (W) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 1 Whiffs | 50% CSW |
| Clayton Beeter | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 1 Whiffs | 33% CSW |
- Clayton Beeter’s command is still a roller coaster, but it has improved, and the stuff is still there, so we should continue to see more swing and miss and strikeouts moving forward. He’s clearly the guy to roster here.
| Milwaukee Brewers | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Chad Patrick | 3.0 IP | 0 ER | 3 H | 1 BB | 0 K | 4 Whiffs | 24% CSW |
| Angel Zerpa (BS) | 1.2 IP | 1 ER | 1 H | 1 BB | 0 K | 0 Whiffs | 32% CSW |
| Abner Uribe | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 2 K | 1 Whiffs | 50% CSW |
| Trevor Megill (L) | 0.0 IP | 4 ER | 2 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 1 Whiffs | 22% CSW |
| Easton McGee | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 1 Whiffs | 14% CSW |
- Abner Uribe’s sinker velo was the best it has been so far this year, and while it’s still down from last year, it may be fine as long as Uribe is locating well. At least it’s trending up.
- So here is how Trevor Megill’s outing went: HBP, bunt hit, ground ball single up the middle, bunt, bunt. After being pulled, Easton McGee gave up a double to the first batter he faced. Obviously, this is not ideal, and Megill is getting hit a little bit harder with his fastball being down 2 MPH, but I don’t think we should be panicking yet. If the velocity stays this way, though, we could be looking at a similar decline with Megill as we saw with Pete Fairbanks from 2023 to 2024. Not ideal, but he could still be a serviceable reliever/closer.
BOS 2 – STL 3
| Boston Red Sox | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Zack Kelly (L) | 0.2 IP | 2 ER | 2 H | 1 BB | 0 K | 1 Whiffs | 22% CSW |
| Tyler Samaniego | 0.2 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 2 BB | 1 K | 1 Whiffs | 23% CSW |
| Greg Weissert | 1.1 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 2 Whiffs | 28% CSW |
| Jovani Morán | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 1 BB | 2 K | 4 Whiffs | 35% CSW |
- This Red Sox team really needs to find a third reliever it can trust with Justin Slaten out, and Zack Kelly failed that test today. Maybe Greg Weissert can figure out how to make his deep arsenal work.
| St. Louis Cardinals | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Ryne Stanek (HLD) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 2 Whiffs | 30% CSW |
| JoJo Romero (HLD) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 1 Whiffs | 43% CSW |
| Riley O’Brien (SV) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 2 Whiffs | 50% CSW |
- Riley O’Brien didn’t have his best stuff or command here, but it was good enough against this paltry Red Sox lineup. He’s done nothing to lose control of that closer role yet, but JoJo Romero continues to look great in a setup role.
COL 2 – SDP 5
| Colorado Rockies | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Antonio Senzatela | 1.2 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 2 BB | 3 K | 4 Whiffs | 29% CSW |
| Jaden Hill | 0.1 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 0 Whiffs | 0% CSW |
| Juan Mejia (L) | 0.1 IP | 3 ER | 2 H | 1 BB | 0 K | 2 Whiffs | 22% CSW |
- Juan Mejia was much better on the road than at home last year, but this season has been the opposite for him so far. The walk-off HR was a poorly located fastball down in the zone.
| San Diego Padres | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Kyle Hart (HLD) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 1 BB | 0 K | 0 Whiffs | 15% CSW |
| Adrian Morejon (BS) | 0.2 IP | 2 ER | 4 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 4 Whiffs | 29% CSW |
| Jason Adam | 0.1 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 1 Whiffs | 40% CSW |
| Mason Miller (W) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 3 K | 4 Whiffs | 62% CSW |
- I’m getting a little tired of Adrian Morejon getting BABIP’d to death, as he’s now allowed 15 hits on the season (14 of which are singles). His luck should turn around eventually.
- Jason Adam returned to action last night and looked more or less like his usual self. With Estrada out, he should continue in this 8th inning role in front of Mason Miller for the time being, at least.
- Speaking of Miller, pitching three days in a row and striking out every hitter he has faced is just legendary stuff.
HOU 6 – SEA 9
| Houston Astros | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Steven Okert | 1.2 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 2 K | 7 Whiffs | 52% CSW |
| Ryan Weiss (L) | 2.1 IP | 2 ER | 4 H | 2 BB | 4 K | 9 Whiffs | 28% CSW |
| J.P. France | 2.2 IP | 4 ER | 3 H | 4 BB | 3 K | 3 Whiffs | 20% CSW |
| Enyel De Los Santos | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 3 Whiffs | 30% CSW |
- Steven Okert looked great in this one, and that slider is still a big-time weapon. So why does he continue to see this kind of usage?
| Seattle Mariners | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Gabe Speier (HLD) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 0 Whiffs | 25% CSW |
| Eduard Bazardo (HLD) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 0 Whiffs | 24% CSW |
| Cole Wilcox | 0.1 IP | 3 ER | 3 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 1 Whiffs | 28% CSW |
| Matt Brash (HLD) | 0.2 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 0 Whiffs | 25% CSW |
| Andrés Muñoz (SV) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 2 BB | 1 K | 2 Whiffs | 28% CSW |
- Gabe Speier may be the Mariners’ top left-handed setup man for the moment, but I feel like Ferrer will eventually take over that role. Speier just doesn’t look like the same guy we saw last year.

TEX 7 – LAD 8
| Texas Rangers | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Robert Garcia (BS) | 1.0 IP | 2 ER | 3 H | 1 BB | 0 K | 2 Whiffs | 28% CSW |
| Jalen Beeks | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 2 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 1 Whiffs | 17% CSW |
| Luis Curvelo | 1.0 IP | 2 ER | 4 H | 1 BB | 0 K | 5 Whiffs | 29% CSW |
| Jacob Latz (L) | 0.2 IP | 1 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 2 K | 3 Whiffs | 31% CSW |
- Ugh, Robert Garcia didn’t even look that bad here; it’s just a tough lineup to go against. Eventually, he should be fine, but he’s fallen off the closer radar for now.
| Los Angeles Dodgers | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Alex Vesia (HLD) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 1 BB | 3 K | 5 Whiffs | 37% CSW |
| Tanner Scott (HLD) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 2 K | 4 Whiffs | 60% CSW |
| Edwin Díaz (W) | 1.0 IP | 3 ER | 4 H | 1 BB | 2 K | 2 Whiffs | 35% CSW |
- This was certainly an ugly outing for Edwin Díaz, who did not have his best stuff here. The HR to Evan Carter was on a 94.8 MPH fastball. For reference, Díaz has never held an average fastball velocity below 97.2 MPH in any season. So yeah, there is definitely some reason for concern, but Díaz is someone we need to be patient with to see if the stuff does come back over time, or, this being the Dodgers, maybe a precautionary IL stint could be in the cards.
