Welcome to the RP Roundup, my daily fantasy baseball article reviewing every reliever performance from the previous day.
MIL 6 – PIT 7
| Milwaukee Brewers | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Craig Yoho | 2.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 1 BB | 3 K | 5 Whiffs | 36% CSW |
| Chad Patrick – HLD (4) | 1.0 IP | 1 ER | 2 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 1 Whiffs | 17% CSW |
| Aaron Ashby – L (2) | 1.0 IP | 3 ER | 3 H | 0 BB | 3 K | 3 Whiffs | 33% CSW |
| Bryse Wilson | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 1 Whiffs | 25% CSW |
- Craig Yoho’s changeup has never been in question; the fastball is still questionable, though.
| Pittsburgh Pirates | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Carmen Mlodzinski – W (6) | 3.0 IP | 1 ER | 3 H | 2 BB | 2 K | 2 Whiffs | 19% CSW |
| Gregory Soto – SV (12) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 1 BB | 0 K | 1 Whiffs | 25% CSW |
- Gregory Soto is still hanging on to save chances, it appears, although he and Mason Montgomery both picked up one today in the doubleheader. I’d still lean Montgomery if I had to pick one.
MIL 2 – PIT 3
| Milwaukee Brewers | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Grant Anderson | 0.2 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 0 Whiffs | 14% CSW |
| Abner Uribe | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 1 BB | 0 K | 1 Whiffs | 15% CSW |
- Abner Uribe was throwing 100 MPH here, and it was needed as he had no control over his slider.
| Pittsburgh Pirates | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Brandon Eisert | 0.1 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 2 BB | 0 K | 0 Whiffs | 14% CSW |
| Yohan Ramírez – W (6) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 3 Whiffs | 33% CSW |
| Dennis Santana – HLD (5) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 3 Whiffs | 37% CSW |
| Isaac Mattson – HLD (8) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 2 Whiffs | 21% CSW |
| Mason Montgomery – SV (1) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 1 BB | 2 K | 2 Whiffs | 19% CSW |
- As mentioned above, I’m leaning towards Mason Montgomery as the reliever to roster here, but we may see Soto get one last crack at the role before the team fully commits.
LAA 3 – MIN 5
| Los Angeles Angels | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mitch Farris – L (1) | 2.0 IP | 2 ER | 6 H | 0 BB | 2 K | 4 Whiffs | 31% CSW |
| José Fermin | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 1 BB | 1 K | 2 Whiffs | 18% CSW |
- José Fermin was sitting 98 MPH here, and the slider looked good. Just another one of the many Cherry Bomb’s in the Angels bullpen.
| Minnesota Twins | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tommy Nance – W (2) | 1.0 IP | 1 ER | 2 H | 0 BB | 2 K | 3 Whiffs | 30% CSW |
| Woo-Suk Go – HLD (1) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 1 BB | 0 K | 2 Whiffs | 19% CSW |
| Yoendrys Gómez – SV (11) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 1 BB | 1 K | 3 Whiffs | 39% CSW |
- Yoendrys Gómez doesn’t have an elite fastball, but it was cool seeing it up 2 MPH here and his sweeper getting three whiffs.
ATH 0 – CHW 1
| Athletics | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Luis Medina | 1.1 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 2 K | 4 Whiffs | 58% CSW |
| Hogan Harris | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 2 K | 2 Whiffs | 55% CSW |
- Luis Medina was throwing harder here (99 MPH), and it brings his overall stuff profile closer to average. Just doesn’t really do it for me.
| Chicago White Sox | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Chris Murphy | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 1 BB | 0 K | 2 Whiffs | 24% CSW |
| Erick Fedde – W (5) | 4.0 IP | 0 ER | 2 H | 1 BB | 3 K | 7 Whiffs | 29% CSW |
| Sean Newcomb – HLD (7) | 1.1 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 1 BB | 1 K | 3 Whiffs | 32% CSW |
| Grant Taylor – SV (4) | 1.2 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 1 BB | 2 K | 4 Whiffs | 41% CSW |
- Grant Taylor with another save, and at this point it’s hard to imagine anyone else in this bullpen getting more save chances the rest of the way.
COL 2 – SFG 4
| San Francisco Giants | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| JT Brubaker – SV (1) | 2.0 IP | 1 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 2 K | 0 Whiffs | 20% CSW |
- We may be headed towards a closer committee here again with JT Brubaker getting a save here, but even with his sinker up a MPH, the stuff is still terrible.

NYY 4 – WSN 2
| New York Yankees | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Brent Headrick – W (5) | 0.1 IP | 0 ER | 2 H | 1 BB | 1 K | 1 Whiffs | 24% CSW |
| Fernando Cruz – HLD (16) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 2 Whiffs | 29% CSW |
| David Bednar – SV (18) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 3 Whiffs | 45% CSW |
- David Bednar went 8/11 splitters here as he faced only lefties, and honestly, I’m fine with that as the results proved this can work.
| Washington Nationals | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Miles Mikolas | 4.0 IP | 0 ER | 4 H | 1 BB | 0 K | 2 Whiffs | 17% CSW |
| Tom Cosgrove – HLD (2) | 1.1 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 2 K | 2 Whiffs | 39% CSW |
| Orlando Ribalta – HLD (8) | 0.1 IP | 2 ER | 1 H | 1 BB | 0 K | 0 Whiffs | 12% CSW |
| Clayton Beeter – L (2) | 0.0 IP | 2 ER | 3 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 3 Whiffs | 40% CSW |
| Matt Krook | 1.2 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 1 BB | 1 K | 3 Whiffs | 33% CSW |
- Clayton Beeter’s fastball actually looked fine here; he just made the one mistake to Goldschmidt (Grisham was just sitting on a fastball at the top of the zone). This bullpen continues to have no answers.
BOS 4 – NYM 0
| Boston Red Sox | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Greg Weissert | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 2 K | 4 Whiffs | 50% CSW |
| Jovani Morán – W (2) | 1.2 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 1 BB | 1 K | 1 Whiffs | 28% CSW |
| Justin Slaten – HLD (12) | 0.2 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 1 BB | 2 K | 0 Whiffs | 18% CSW |
| Danny Coulombe | 2.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 3 BB | 0 K | 1 Whiffs | 19% CSW |
- Greg Weissert has looked a bit better as of late, but there’s no reason for him to see any leverage usage as long as everyone else in this bullpen is healthy.
| New York Mets | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Huascar Brazobán | 0.2 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 0 Whiffs | 25% CSW |
| A.J. Minter | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 2 K | 3 Whiffs | 33% CSW |
| Brooks Raley | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 0 Whiffs | 27% CSW |
| Tobias Myers | 2.0 IP | 2 ER | 2 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 1 Whiffs | 26% CSW |
- Brooks Raley continues his positive trend of outings as his sinker was up nearly a MPH here again. Building a nice trade market for himself.
SEA 1 – TBR 6
| Seattle Mariners | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Gabe Speier | 0.1 IP | 1 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 1 Whiffs | 20% CSW |
| Michael Rucker | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 2 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 2 Whiffs | 31% CSW |
- Gabe Speier gave up a home run on the first pitch he threw to Vilade, but he’s throwing harder, and the stuff continues to trend up.
| Tampa Bay Rays | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cam Booser – HLD (4) | 2.0 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 5 K | 7 Whiffs | 40% CSW |
| Garrett Cleavinger | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 1 BB | 2 K | 1 Whiffs | 25% CSW |
| Casey Legumina | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 1 Whiffs | 12% CSW |
- Cam Booser got a bit lucky here, but the fastball/sweeper duo can definitely be effective, and I’m not sure how much confidence the team has in Garrett Cleavinger (whose fastball was down a MPH again), so Booser could continue to see hold chances.
CLE 4 – MIA 1
| Cleveland Guardians | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Shawn Armstrong – HLD (6) | 0.1 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 0 Whiffs | 20% CSW |
| Franco Aleman – HLD (2) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 3 Whiffs | 31% CSW |
| Colin Holderman – SV (1) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 0 Whiffs | 18% CSW |
- Franco Aleman looks great since being called up, but can he work his way into consistent hold opportunities in this deep bullpen? Still worth a look in deeper formats.
| Miami Marlins | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cade Gibson | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 2 K | 3 Whiffs | 43% CSW |
| William Kempner | 2.0 IP | 2 ER | 3 H | 0 BB | 3 K | 8 Whiffs | 33% CSW |
- Cade Gibson has some great breakers, but the fastball is not up to par. They’ll still be leaning on him as the top lefty with Nardi and King out.
PHI 4 – DET 2
| Philadelphia Phillies | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Jonathan Bowlan – HLD (5) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 1 BB | 0 K | 1 Whiffs | 11% CSW |
| Jhoan Duran – SV (24) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 2 Whiffs | 25% CSW |
- I don’t care that Jonathan Bowlan had poor command here, I’m just loving this recent eighth-inning setup usage.
| Detroit Tigers | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Drew Anderson | 1.1 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 2 K | 4 Whiffs | 42% CSW |
| Tyler Holton | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 1 Whiffs | 44% CSW |
| Kenley Jansen | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 2 Whiffs | 38% CSW |
- We saw the good Drew Anderson here with his changeup and curveball cooking and the fastball velo up a MPH.
KCR 1 – BAL 6
| Baltimore Orioles | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Grant Wolfram – HLD (11) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 2 K | 1 Whiffs | 27% CSW |
| Yennier Cano | 0.1 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 1 Whiffs | 50% CSW |
| Tyler Wells | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 2 Whiffs | 42% CSW |
- Tyler Wells in the ninth up five runs is kind of closer usage, I suppose? He looked good here even without needing to throw a fastball.
HOU 9 – TEX 3
| Houston Astros | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Enyel De Los Santos | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 1 Whiffs | 50% CSW |
| AJ Blubaugh | 2.0 IP | 2 ER | 3 H | 1 BB | 4 K | 7 Whiffs | 26% CSW |
- AJ Blubaugh’s stuff keeps fluctuating, and the fastball was even up today, but the results weren’t great. His upside is evident, but the production has been frustrating to say the least.
| Texas Rangers | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Gavin Collyer | 1.1 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 1 BB | 2 K | 3 Whiffs | 28% CSW |
| Robby Ahlstrom | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 1 BB | 0 K | 1 Whiffs | 7% CSW |
| Chris Martin | 1.0 IP | 2 ER | 2 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 0 Whiffs | 24% CSW |
- We saw mostly fastballs (16) and sweepers (6) from Gavin Collyer here, with his cutter usage down, and I think this may be the way moving forward for him.
CHC 5 – CIN 3
| Chicago Cubs | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Drew Pomeranz – W (2) | 1.0 IP | 1 ER | 2 H | 1 BB | 0 K | 0 Whiffs | 20% CSW |
| Caleb Thielbar – HLD (7) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 2 K | 4 Whiffs | 43% CSW |
| Jacob Webb – HLD (7) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 1 BB | 1 K | 5 Whiffs | 35% CSW |
| Ryan Rolison – HLD (3) | 0.2 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 1 BB | 1 K | 2 Whiffs | 27% CSW |
| Trent Thornton – SV (3) | 0.1 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 1 Whiffs | 67% CSW |
- Jacob Webb may be splitting the closer role with Trent Thornton and others, but at least Webb has been steady lately, and his fastball was even up a MPH here. Still my favorite reliever to roster here.
| Cincinnati Reds | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Caleb Ferguson | 0.2 IP | 1 ER | 2 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 1 Whiffs | 13% CSW |
| Julian Garcia – L (2) | 1.0 IP | 2 ER | 1 H | 1 BB | 2 K | 3 Whiffs | 37% CSW |
| Brock Burke | 0.1 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 0 Whiffs | 50% CSW |
| Pierce Johnson | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 1 BB | 0 K | 1 Whiffs | 28% CSW |
| Tejay Antone | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 0 Whiffs | 33% CSW |
- Tejay Antone fastball was down here (only 2 thrown), but as long as the breakers are working, he should keep cruising.
ATL 1 – STL 4
| Atlanta Braves | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Owen Murphy | 3.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 3 K | 5 Whiffs | 21% CSW |
- Owen Murphy has a great fastball and solid secondaries, but what is his role going to be?
| St. Louis Cardinals | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Luis Gastelum | 1.0 IP | 1 ER | 2 H | 0 BB | 2 K | 5 Whiffs | 47% CSW |
| George Soriano – HLD (13) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 2 K | 2 Whiffs | 56% CSW |
| Riley O’Brien – SV (24) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 1 BB | 1 K | 0 Whiffs | 28% CSW |
- Riley O’Brien keeps surviving, even with his sinker down a MPH again. He’s holding a 4.4% K-BB rate over his past 20+ IP, so just continue to proceed with caution.
TOR 7 – SDP 8
| Toronto Blue Jays | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Adam Macko | 1.1 IP | 2 ER | 2 H | 1 BB | 2 K | 4 Whiffs | 30% CSW |
| Braydon Fisher | 1.0 IP | 1 ER | 2 H | 1 BB | 2 K | 1 Whiffs | 37% CSW |
| Mason Fluharty – L (1) | 2.0 IP | 1 ER | 2 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 4 Whiffs | 32% CSW |
| Spencer Miles | 2.0 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 2 BB | 1 K | 1 Whiffs | 18% CSW |
- Mason Fluharty always looks like he’s about to break out, but will he ever? He just always feels so close, but we get frustrating outings instead. One day.
| San Diego Padres | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Matt Waldron | 3.0 IP | 0 ER | 2 H | 1 BB | 3 K | 5 Whiffs | 30% CSW |
| Yuki Matsui – HLD (4) | 0.2 IP | 2 ER | 0 H | 1 BB | 0 K | 1 Whiffs | 25% CSW |
| Bradgley Rodriguez – W (2) | 1.1 IP | 1 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 0 Whiffs | 13% CSW |
| Adrian Morejon – HLD (15) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 2 Whiffs | 27% CSW |
| Mason Miller – SV (24) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 2 K | 3 Whiffs | 43% CSW |
- Bradgley Rodriguez gave up a home run to Vlad here, but at least his stuff looked great. He’s going to be counted on for big innings with Adam and Estrada out.
ARI 9 – LAD 2
| Arizona Diamondbacks | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Brandyn Garcia – HLD (10) | 0.2 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 0 Whiffs | 22% CSW |
| Kevin Ginkel | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 2 Whiffs | 36% CSW |
| Juan Morillo | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 2 K | 3 Whiffs | 50% CSW |
| Philip Abner | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 0 Whiffs | 33% CSW |
- Great stuff from Juan Morillo here, and I hope we can see him get better usage in the second half. He currently has just one hold since the beginning of May.
