The culprit here was a 2-2 four-seamer up and away at 99.3 MPH to Riley that he somehow pulled to left-center. Riley obviously sold out for a fastball up in the zone, and it is Bowlans best pitch, so maybe he needs to work that slider in more often.
José Alvarado — Sinker down 0.9 MPH (97.1 vs. 98.0 season avg); Sinker usage 36% (-26 pts vs. 63% usual)
Jhoan Duran — Four-Seamer up 1.3 MPH (101.7 vs. 100.4 season avg). Not that he needs to throw 1.3 MPH harder…

Scott got two quick strikeouts before back-to-back singles off the mitts of infielders, and a double down the line by Chaparro brought Abrams to the plate with the tying run at 3rd and the go-ahead run at 2nd. Scott threw him five straight fastballs and struck him out swinging ot end the game.

Athletics
