Welcome to the RP Roundup, my daily fantasy baseball article reviewing every reliever performance from the previous day.
SFG 0 – WSN 3
| San Francisco Giants | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Keaton Winn | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 2 Whiffs | 31% CSW |
| JT Brubaker | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 0 Whiffs | 25% CSW |
- Keaton Winn had a clean outing despite not having his best stuff here. There doesn’t seem to be any real rhyme or reason as to bullpen usage here, but Winn should be one of the key high-leverage guys.
| Washington Nationals | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Miles Mikolas | 4.0 IP | 0 ER | 4 H | 1 BB | 4 K | 9 Whiffs | 30% CSW |
| Andrew Alvarez – W (1) | 4.1 IP | 0 ER | 3 H | 0 BB | 5 K | 7 Whiffs | 29% CSW |
- Andrew Alvarez dominated the last 4+ innings of this game and ended up being optioned back to AAA after the game. The curveball is good, and the fastball is passable. He should be back up for the Nationals soon.
TBR 3 – PIT 6
| Tampa Bay Rays | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mason Englert | 2.1 IP | 1 ER | 2 H | 1 BB | 3 K | 5 Whiffs | 29% CSW |
| Ian Seymour | 1.1 IP | 1 ER | 2 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 3 Whiffs | 32% CSW |
- Ian Seymour wasn’t terrible here, but the Rays need to find another lefty they can rely on in this bullpen. I guess Garrett Cleavinger could return soon (started rehab), so that should help.
| Pittsburgh Pirates | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Isaac Mattson – HLD (5) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 1 Whiffs | 25% CSW |
| Wilber Dotel | 1.0 IP | 1 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 2 Whiffs | 25% CSW |
- Wilber Dotel has some interesting stuff, with a 99 MPH fastball with plenty of arm side run and a 1.7 HAVAA. Someone to keep an eye on.
KCR 0 – NYY 7
| Kansas City Royals | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mason Black | 1.2 IP | 0 ER | 3 H | 1 BB | 2 K | 2 Whiffs | 26% CSW |
| Eli Morgan | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 1 BB | 1 K | 0 Whiffs | 27% CSW |
| John Schreiber | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 0 Whiffs | 20% CSW |
- It’s been a while since we’ve seen Mason Black, and we saw some increased velocity here from him, but his key pitch is the sweeper, which looked pretty good here despite not getting any whiffs.
| New York Yankees | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Angel Chivilli | 1.2 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 1 BB | 1 K | 1 Whiffs | 24% CSW |
- Angel Chivilli’s stuff is not great right now, but there could be something there down the line. He’s still only 23 years old.
BAL 4 – CLE 8
| Baltimore Orioles | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tyler Wells | 2.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 5 K | 9 Whiffs | 61% CSW |
| Cameron Foster | 1.0 IP | 2 ER | 2 H | 2 BB | 2 K | 6 Whiffs | 39% CSW |
- Tyler Wells with this masterful performance as his fastball velo was up 1.5 MPH here. If that sticks, the Orioles have another bullpen piece who will be a problem for hitters.
| Cleveland Guardians | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Matt Festa – W (1) | 0.1 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 0 Whiffs | 22% CSW |
| Peyton Pallette – HLD (1) | 2.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 2 K | 6 Whiffs | 37% CSW |
| Erik Sabrowski – HLD (9) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 1 BB | 3 K | 5 Whiffs | 41% CSW |
| Shawn Armstrong | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 1 Whiffs | 45% CSW |
- Erik Sabrowski has been battling some command issues lately, and it wasn’t ideal here, but the stuff was good enough to power through with this result.
MIL 3 – MIA 5
| Milwaukee Brewers | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| DL Hall | 0.1 IP | 2 ER | 2 H | 2 BB | 1 K | 1 Whiffs | 32% CSW |
| Grant Anderson | 0.2 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 1 Whiffs | 33% CSW |
| Carlos Rodríguez | 2.0 IP | 0 ER | 2 H | 0 BB | 3 K | 6 Whiffs | 31% CSW |
- Carlos Rodríguez doesn’t have a great fastball, but the changeup was dominant here, and the slider isn’t bad either. There’s something here if he can find a passable fastball.
| Miami Marlins | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Michael Petersen | 1.2 IP | 1 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 4 Whiffs | 39% CSW |
| Andrew Nardi | 0.0 IP | 1 ER | 1 H | 2 BB | 0 K | 0 Whiffs | 13% CSW |
| Calvin Faucher – HLD (2) | 0.1 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 1 Whiffs | 50% CSW |
| Pete Fairbanks – SV (3) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 2 K | 2 Whiffs | 54% CSW |
- Andrew Nardi, please find your command soon. The stuff is so good.
- This was a great outing from Pete Fairbanks that should help calm anyone’s anxiety after his two weird outings recently. If we are being nitpicky, the fastball command could have been better, but we will take this and move on.

STL 7 – HOU 5
| St. Louis Cardinals | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Ryne Stanek – HLD (4) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 2 Whiffs | 40% CSW |
| JoJo Romero – HLD (6) | 0.2 IP | 3 ER | 2 H | 1 BB | 0 K | 0 Whiffs | 16% CSW |
| Riley O’Brien – W (3) | 1.1 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 2 K | 1 Whiffs | 37% CSW |
| Justin Bruihl – HLD (4) | 0.2 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 0 Whiffs | 12% CSW |
| Gordon Graceffo – SV (1) | 0.1 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 1 Whiffs | 14% CSW |
- I won’t allow Ryne Stanek to give me false hope after one outing, but the command was better, still not where we want it to be.
| Houston Astros | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Steven Okert | 0.1 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 1 Whiffs | 22% CSW |
| Kai-Wei Teng | 2.0 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 1 BB | 3 K | 6 Whiffs | 37% CSW |
| Enyel De Los Santos | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 2 Whiffs | 21% CSW |
| Bryan King – L (1) | 2.0 IP | 1 ER | 2 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 2 Whiffs | 22% CSW |
- Kai-Wei Teng may be emerging as the most trustworthy reliever in this bullpen. Enyel De Los Santos is OK, above average at best, and a reliever with limited upside, but Teng has some plus offspeed stuff, and he is not afraid to throw them often and for strikes. The fastballs are poor, but the sweeper can be really good. Teng’s kind of like the right-handed version of Bryan King, although King trusts his fastball more.
CIN 7 – MIN 4
| Cincinnati Reds | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Connor Phillips | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 1 BB | 1 K | 3 Whiffs | 38% CSW |
| Kyle Nicolas | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 2 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 2 Whiffs | 32% CSW |
| Emilio Pagán – W (2) | 1.0 IP | 1 ER | 2 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 1 Whiffs | 19% CSW |
| Graham Ashcraft – SV (1) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 1 BB | 1 K | 1 Whiffs | 19% CSW |
- Emilio Pagán left a couple of 94 MPH 0-1 fastballs middle middle, leading to two doubles and a blown save here. The stuff actually does appear to be trending up, so thats the good news, but the results remain hit or miss with him and he can’t afford to be grooving his fastball down the middle, especially with decreased velocity.
- Graham Ashcraft’s velocity has been down the last couple of outings, and I hope that’s not a long-term trend. Even at 96-97, he could be ok with that slider carrying him, but the cutter at 98-99 MPH is a game-changer.
| Minnesota Twins | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Taylor Rogers – HLD (3) | 0.2 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 0 Whiffs | 25% CSW |
| Andrew Morris – BS (1) | 1.1 IP | 3 ER | 3 H | 2 BB | 2 K | 4 Whiffs | 32% CSW |
| Garrett Acton – L (1) | 1.2 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 1 BB | 2 K | 3 Whiffs | 24% CSW |
- Andrew Morris and Garrett Acton actually possess plus fastballs, but their secondaries are lacking. That seems to be the case with this entire bullpen, each reliever has one solid offering and not much else.
NYM 1 – CHC 2
| New York Mets | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| David Peterson | 3.2 IP | 0 ER | 3 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 1 Whiffs | 19% CSW |
| Huascar Brazobán – HLD (1) | 0.1 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 2 BB | 1 K | 2 Whiffs | 31% CSW |
| Brooks Raley – HLD (3) | 0.2 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 1 Whiffs | 33% CSW |
| Luke Weaver – HLD (2) | 1.1 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 1 Whiffs | 38% CSW |
| Devin Williams – BS (1) | 1.0 IP | 1 ER | 2 H | 0 BB | 3 K | 4 Whiffs | 40% CSW |
| Craig Kimbrel – L (1) | 0.2 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 1 Whiffs | 12% CSW |
- Given the way things have been going for the Mets lately, it was pretty predicatable how this ninth inning went for Devin Williams. Sure, the command wasn’t perfect, but the stuff was there. A groundball that beat their weird shift of Happ before a grooved fastball to Conforto that was misplayed by the right fielder ultimately did Williams in. This outing reminded me of many of his Yankee outings last year, and I hope that is not a sign of things to come.
| Chicago Cubs | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Jacob Webb | 1.1 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 2 K | 6 Whiffs | 33% CSW |
| Riley Martin | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 2 K | 2 Whiffs | 36% CSW |
| Corbin Martin | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 1 Whiffs | 18% CSW |
| Caleb Thielbar – W (2) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 2 Whiffs | 19% CSW |
- This bullpen was awesome yesterday, despite these not being the names you’d have expected at the beginning of the season here (maybe Thielbar).
LAD 6 – COL 9
| Los Angeles Dodgers | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Alex Vesia | 0.1 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 0 Whiffs | 0% CSW |
| Will Klein – HLD (1) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 1 Whiffs | 33% CSW |
| Blake Treinen – L (1) | 0.0 IP | 3 ER | 4 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 0 Whiffs | 7% CSW |
| Jack Dreyer | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 2 Whiffs | 44% CSW |
| Edwin Díaz | 0.0 IP | 3 ER | 3 H | 1 BB | 0 K | 0 Whiffs | 8% CSW |
| Kyle Hurt | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 1 Whiffs | 50% CSW |
- Getting zero outs from Blake Treinen and Edwin Díaz while allowing 7 hits, a walk, and 6 earned runs is not what you want to see here, especially as the Dodgers already feel thin from the right side in that bullpen. Treinen looked terrible, and his stuff was way down (perhaps the Coors effect?), but Díaz basically looked as he has looked all season so far. The velocity was still down from Díaz, but even the fastball movement was way down (Coors?), and also noticeably, his arm slot was down to 13° here. On the season, he’s been around 16°, while last year he was at 19°, and that number has been dwindling since 2022, when he was at 23°. He may not have any structural damage, but he’s probably dealing with some arm fatigue, and knowing the Dodgers, I’d imagine they’d prefer Díaz spend some time on the IL to figure things out.
| Colorado Rockies | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Antonio Senzatela – W (1) | 2.0 IP | 1 ER | 3 H | 0 BB | 2 K | 7 Whiffs | 42% CSW |
| Jimmy Herget – HLD (3) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 2 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 1 Whiffs | 35% CSW |
| Victor Vodnik | 1.0 IP | 2 ER | 3 H | 1 BB | 1 K | 2 Whiffs | 24% CSW |
- Victor Vodnik’s command was all over the place here, and he wound up needing 34 pitches to get three outs. It’s the Dodgers lineup and Coors, but that’s going to be something Vodnik has to deal with, pitching for the Rockies.
CHW 7 – ATH 4
| Chicago White Sox | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Grant Taylor | 1.2 IP | 3 ER | 3 H | 1 BB | 3 K | 5 Whiffs | 31% CSW |
| Jordan Leasure | 0.1 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 1 Whiffs | 9% CSW |
| Bryan Hudson – HLD (2) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 4 Whiffs | 47% CSW |
| Seranthony Domínguez – SV (4) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 1 BB | 1 K | 3 Whiffs | 37% CSW |
- Still no fastball command from Seranthony Domínguez, like it’s all over the place here. This doesn’t feel like it will end well.
| Athletics | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mason Barnett | 2.0 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 2 BB | 1 K | 3 Whiffs | 14% CSW |
| Luis Medina | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 2 Whiffs | 50% CSW |
| Scott Barlow | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 2 K | 5 Whiffs | 47% CSW |
- Scott Barlow threw 2 of his 15 pitches in the zone here, and it’s clearly apparent that hitters will still chase his breaking stuff even if he can’t throw 90+ MPH anymore.
SDP 2 – LAA 1
| San Diego Padres | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Ron Marinaccio – HLD (1) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 2 BB | 1 K | 4 Whiffs | 27% CSW |
| Kyle Hart – HLD (4) | 0.1 IP | 1 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 1 Whiffs | 10% CSW |
| Bradgley Rodriguez – HLD (3) | 1.2 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 1 BB | 2 K | 6 Whiffs | 42% CSW |
| Mason Miller – SV (8) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 2 K | 3 Whiffs | 54% CSW |
- Bradgley Rodriguez got some success from his cutter yesterday, which is good to see as he can be changeup/fastball dependent.
| Los Angeles Angels | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Sam Bachman | 2.0 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 3 K | 6 Whiffs | 44% CSW |
| Brent Suter | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 1 BB | 0 K | 2 Whiffs | 42% CSW |
- Sam Bachman still has no idea where his pitches are going, but the stuff is good enough to produce lines like this for now.
TEX 2 – SEA 5
| Texas Rangers | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tyler Alexander | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 0 Whiffs | 42% CSW |
| Jalen Beeks | 0.2 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 0 Whiffs | 33% CSW |
| Gavin Collyer | 0.1 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 1 BB | 0 K | 0 Whiffs | 29% CSW |
| Jakob Junis | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 2 BB | 0 K | 1 Whiffs | 14% CSW |
- Jakob Junis with a “Guy Fieri” Skills outing (Triple D’s: also known as Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives) as his command, was all over the place (he also hit a batter), which is very uncharacteristic of him. I think we are getting very close to being able to move on from Junis is save only leagues, but let’s see how things play out this week.

| Seattle Mariners | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Gabe Speier – HLD (3) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 2 K | 2 Whiffs | 17% CSW |
| Andrés Muñoz – SV (3) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 3 K | 5 Whiffs | 35% CSW |
- Great to see this line from Andrés Muñoz here. Was the stuff/command perfect and where we want it to be? No (is it ever?), but let’s take this outing as a positive for now and hope he continues to improve.
TOR 10 – ARI 4
| Toronto Blue Jays | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mason Fluharty | 1.0 IP | 2 ER | 2 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 3 Whiffs | 33% CSW |
| Tommy Nance | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 0 Whiffs | 38% CSW |
| Braydon Fisher | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 2 Whiffs | 27% CSW |
- A flare single and a HR from Barrosa on a sweeper down and out of the zone hurt Mason Fluharty in this one, and while the season numbers don’t look great right now, I think there’s a lot of bad luck involved (I’m not sure how Barrosa hit that pitch out yesterday). Fluharty should get better results moving forward.
| Arizona Diamondbacks | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Andrew Hoffmann | 2.1 IP | 1 ER | 2 H | 1 BB | 3 K | 5 Whiffs | 30% CSW |
| Brandon Pfaadt | 6.1 IP | 1 ER | 4 H | 2 BB | 3 K | 10 Whiffs | 29% CSW |
- Andrew Hoffmann still has a nice changeup and not much else.
DET 6 – BOS 2
| Detroit Tigers | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Kyle Finnegan | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 1 Whiffs | 26% CSW |
| Will Vest | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 1 BB | 0 K | 3 Whiffs | 26% CSW |
| Connor Seabold | 1.0 IP | 1 ER | 2 H | 0 BB | 2 K | 3 Whiffs | 33% CSW |
- One strikeout and no walks for Kyle Finnegan here! Progress. But seriously, he should be fine. As should Will Vest if you were worried about his ERA.
| Boston Red Sox | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Ryan Watson | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 2 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 1 Whiffs | 19% CSW |
| Jack Anderson | 3.0 IP | 1 ER | 3 H | 1 BB | 0 K | 0 Whiffs | 17% CSW |
- Watson and Anderson have really bad fastballs, but Watson at least has an interesting sweeper, I guess I see why the Red Sox haven’t given up yet. Anderson has a decent splitter, but that’s about it.
ATL 4 – PHI 2
| Atlanta Braves | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Aaron Bummer | 0.1 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 0 Whiffs | 40% CSW |
| Tyler Kinley – W (3) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 1 BB | 1 K | 0 Whiffs | 28% CSW |
| Dylan Lee – HLD (4) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 1 BB | 0 K | 2 Whiffs | 25% CSW |
| Robert Suarez – HLD (4) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 2 Whiffs | 21% CSW |
| Raisel Iglesias – SV (5) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 1 BB | 1 K | 4 Whiffs | 24% CSW |
- Raisel Iglesias returned for this game, and the velocity was down here, potentially due to sleeping on his shoulder weird Friday, but the command was more of my issue here. I’ts kind of amazing he got away with this, to be honest (I realize he almost didn’t). I think he is someone to consider selling high on.

| Philadelphia Phillies | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tim Mayza | 1.0 IP | 1 ER | 2 H | 1 BB | 2 K | 0 Whiffs | 27% CSW |
| Chase Shugart | 0.2 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 1 BB | 1 K | 1 Whiffs | 25% CSW |
| Kyle Backhus | 1.1 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 1 Whiffs | 21% CSW |
| Orion Kerkering | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 1 BB | 0 K | 1 Whiffs | 31% CSW |
| Seth Johnson | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 2 Whiffs | 50% CSW |
- With all the injuries going on in this bullpen, could Seth Johnson work his way into a prominent role? If he can continue to do what he did last night in 8 pitches, then he certainly could. He had three plus pitches working, but it’s obviously a super small sample size. But this shows what could be, so Johnson is someone to keep an eye on to see if he can replicate this consistently.
