Welcome to the RP Roundup, my daily fantasy baseball article reviewing every reliever performance from the previous day.
ATL 8 – MIA 4
| Atlanta Braves | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Didier Fuentes | 0.2 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 1 BB | 0 K | 2 Whiffs | 24% CSW |
| Dylan Lee – W (2) | 1.1 IP | 0 ER | 2 H | 0 BB | 2 K | 5 Whiffs | 36% CSW |
| Robert Suarez – HLD (6) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 1 BB | 0 K | 0 Whiffs | 18% CSW |
| Raisel Iglesias | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 1 Whiffs | 38% CSW |
- Raisel Iglesias velo was up 1 MPH here, and he did a great job locating his fastballs and the one slider her threw. I love where he is at right now, and as long as he is locating his fastball well, we have nothing to worry about.
| Miami Marlins | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Anthony Bender | 1.1 IP | 1 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 3 Whiffs | 36% CSW |
| Andrew Nardi – BS (1) | 1.1 IP | 1 ER | 2 H | 0 BB | 3 K | 5 Whiffs | 35% CSW |
| Michael Petersen | 1.1 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 2 BB | 1 K | 2 Whiffs | 23% CSW |
| Calvin Faucher – L (3) | 0.2 IP | 3 ER | 2 H | 3 BB | 2 K | 3 Whiffs | 33% CSW |
| Lake Bachar | 1.1 IP | 1 ER | 2 H | 0 BB | 2 K | 1 Whiffs | 25% CSW |
- All the stuff and talent in this bullpen, and these are the results we get? Should be better days ahead for all of these guys.
CLE 4 – DET 3
| Cleveland Guardians | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Colin Holderman – W (1) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 3 Whiffs | 31% CSW |
| Erik Sabrowski – HLD (17) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 1 BB | 2 K | 0 Whiffs | 27% CSW |
| Tim Herrin – HLD (3) | 0.1 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 1 BB | 1 K | 1 Whiffs | 25% CSW |
| Hunter Gaddis – HLD (5) | 0.2 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 1 BB | 0 K | 1 Whiffs | 20% CSW |
| Cade Smith – SV (15) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 2 H | 0 BB | 3 K | 5 Whiffs | 41% CSW |
- Here’s how you maximize bullpen value. We got a win, three holds, and a save here, so that should be a good sign for those rostering some of the deeper Guardians relievers.
| Detroit Tigers | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tyler Holton – L (3) | 2.0 IP | 1 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 2 K | 3 Whiffs | 32% CSW |
| Will Vest | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 1 Whiffs | 25% CSW |
| Burch Smith | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 0 Whiffs | 36% CSW |
- Will Vest made his first appearance here since coming off the IL, and his stuff looked awesome, up 2 MPH across the board, with all three pitches grading well above average. If this sticks over the next week, he’ll be back near the top 20 holds options again.
BAL 1 – TBR 4
| Baltimore Orioles | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Anthony Nunez | 0.2 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 4 Whiffs | 29% CSW |
| Keegan Akin | 0.2 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 2 Whiffs | 33% CSW |
| Yennier Cano | 1.0 IP | 1 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 2 Whiffs | 27% CSW |
| Rico Garcia | 0.1 IP | 1 ER | 2 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 2 Whiffs | 38% CSW |
- Rico Garcia had allowed two hits all season coming into this game, and wound up allowing a double to Palacios and a single to DeLuca before even getting an out. The double was off the glove of Cowser in RF, who hit the wall on contact, while the single was a lucky bloop that fell in front of Taveras. It’s hard to call it bad luck when he entered the game with a .028 BABIP.
| Tampa Bay Rays | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Kevin Kelly – W (3) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 0 Whiffs | 30% CSW |
| Ian Seymour – HLD (10) | 1.1 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 3 Whiffs | 42% CSW |
| Casey Legumina – HLD (1) | 0.2 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 1 BB | 1 K | 2 Whiffs | 38% CSW |
| Bryan Baker – SV (13) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 1 Whiffs | 20% CSW |
- Bryan Baker looked good here, but he really could use some time off as he’s been pitching more than any reliever lately.
CIN 4 – PHI 1
| Cincinnati Reds | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Pierce Johnson – HLD (4) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 1 BB | 2 K | 5 Whiffs | 35% CSW |
| Sam Moll – HLD (2) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 2 Whiffs | 27% CSW |
| Tony Santillan – SV (2) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 2 K | 1 Whiffs | 30% CSW |
- Tony Santillan was trusted with a save chance here and did not disappoint…now let’s see if it’s sustainable. He threw just one slider here, leaning on his fastball as his slider has been getting destroyed lately. The problem is that his fastball was getting destroyed previously, so I’m not sure this is a long-term solution. If you want to add and Vargas Rule go for it, but I’m still skeptical.
| Philadelphia Phillies | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tanner Banks | 0.1 IP | 2 ER | 2 H | 1 BB | 0 K | 1 Whiffs | 25% CSW |
| Jonathan Bowlan | 0.2 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 1 BB | 0 K | 3 Whiffs | 29% CSW |
| Chase Shugart | 2.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 1 BB | 3 K | 3 Whiffs | 31% CSW |
- Jonathan Bowlan either needs to shrink his arsenal as a reliever or get stretched out as a starter already. Preferably the latter.
NYM 6 – WSN 9
| New York Mets | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Daniel Duarte | 2.1 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 3 Whiffs | 21% CSW |
- Daniel Duarte made his first MLB appearance since 2023, and while the slider is kind of interesting, the rest is not.
| Washington Nationals | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Brad Lord – HLD (4) | 3.0 IP | 1 ER | 2 H | 0 BB | 3 K | 9 Whiffs | 42% CSW |
| Richard Lovelady – SV (3) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 3 Whiffs | 40% CSW |
- Richard Lovelady got the call in the ninth over Gus Varland, I’m assuming it’s because Baty and Benge were due up, or maybe it was some revenge game thing, but either way it worked for the Nationals. It’s frustrating for fantasy purposes, though, as Lovelady is not someone you can trust despite the solid sweeper.
TOR 4 – NYY 5
| Toronto Blue Jays | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Adam Macko | 0.2 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 1 Whiffs | 43% CSW |
| Chase Lee | 0.1 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 2 BB | 0 K | 1 Whiffs | 15% CSW |
| Mason Fluharty | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 3 Whiffs | 44% CSW |
| Louis Varland | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 3 Whiffs | 67% CSW |
- Louis Varland pitching the eighth inning here is interesting, but again, it’s something Schneider loves to do, and it almost paid off here as the Blue Jays just fell short with their comeback bid. Eighth inning or ninth, it doesn’t matter as Varland will dominate either.
| New York Yankees | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tim Hill – HLD (8) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 1 BB | 1 K | 1 Whiffs | 35% CSW |
| Jake Bird – HLD (6) | 0.2 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 2 Whiffs | 36% CSW |
| Brent Headrick – HLD (6) | 1.1 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 2 K | 4 Whiffs | 38% CSW |
| Camilo Doval – SV (1) | 1.0 IP | 1 ER | 2 H | 1 BB | 0 K | 1 Whiffs | 9% CSW |
- Camilo Doval got his audition to close out games, and while it was extremely shaky, he was ultimately able to hold on, so that’s something. He started things off with a walk and a single before getting the next two batters out, but another hit led to the tying run being on third and the go-ahead run on second before he got Okamoto to ground out to end the game. If Doval were to become the closer here, I’d imagine a lot of games ended similarly.
BOS 7 – KCR 1
| Boston Red Sox | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Zack Kelly | 0.2 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 0 Whiffs | 12% CSW |
| Tyler Samaniego – HLD (1) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 1 Whiffs | 30% CSW |
| Justin Slaten – HLD (5) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 2 K | 2 Whiffs | 42% CSW |
| Garrett Whitlock – W (3) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 2 Whiffs | 71% CSW |
| Jovani Morán | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 3 K | 4 Whiffs | 41% CSW |
- The Red Sox tacked on four runs in the ninth, so they were able to turn to Jovani Morán to finish things, but he did kind of look like Aroldis Chapman here. The velo was up in the mid-94 MPH range, and the changeup was as filthy as ever. Let’s find this man a bigger role soon.
| Kansas City Royals | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Luinder Avila | 3.0 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 1 BB | 3 K | 4 Whiffs | 27% CSW |
| John Schreiber | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 2 K | 3 Whiffs | 33% CSW |
| Nick Mears | 2.0 IP | 1 ER | 2 H | 0 BB | 2 K | 2 Whiffs | 22% CSW |
| Eli Morgan | 1.0 IP | 4 ER | 7 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 3 Whiffs | 19% CSW |
- Blegh
HOU 2 – MIN 1
| Houston Astros | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Steven Okert – HLD (4) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 3 K | 6 Whiffs | 47% CSW |
| Enyel De Los Santos – HLD (2) | 0.2 IP | 1 ER | 2 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 0 Whiffs | 25% CSW |
| Bryan King – HLD (4) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 2 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 3 Whiffs | 23% CSW |
| Bryan Abreu – SV (3) | 0.1 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 1 Whiffs | 22% CSW |
- Bryan Abreu came in to bail out Bryan King and get the final out of this game. Cool to see him get his third save, I guess, but he needed nine pitches to finally retire Buxton here, with 7 of them being fastballs that averaged just 93 MPH. He’s still not right.
| Minnesota Twins | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Anthony Banda | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 1 Whiffs | 19% CSW |
| Travis Adams | 2.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 1 Whiffs | 26% CSW |
- Meh
MIL 5 – CHC 2
| Milwaukee Brewers | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Trevor Megill – HLD (6) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 2 K | 5 Whiffs | 40% CSW |
| Aaron Ashby | 0.2 IP | 2 ER | 4 H | 1 BB | 2 K | 3 Whiffs | 35% CSW |
| Chad Patrick – HLD (2) | 0.1 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 1 Whiffs | 33% CSW |
| Abner Uribe – SV (5) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 0 Whiffs | 36% CSW |
- Oh cool. After using Trevor Megill to close things out in their last save situation, he gets the 7th inning here. He and Abner Uribe both pitched well here, but Megill has been the better pitcher the past month plus, so it is a little confusing to see this.
| Chicago Cubs | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Jacob Webb | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 2 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 1 Whiffs | 25% CSW |
| Caleb Thielbar | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 2 Whiffs | 14% CSW |
| Trent Thornton | 1.0 IP | 2 ER | 1 H | 1 BB | 0 K | 1 Whiffs | 20% CSW |
| Phil Maton | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 2 Whiffs | 42% CSW |
- Good to see Caleb Thielbar back in action, and while the velo was down a bit, it’s still encouraging to see him get through the outing unscathed. He should slot into a setup role here as soon as this weekend.
PIT 6 – STL 9
| Pittsburgh Pirates | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Evan Sisk – BS (2) | 1.0 IP | 1 ER | 2 H | 2 BB | 0 K | 1 Whiffs | 11% CSW |
| Brandan Bidois | 1.1 IP | 1 ER | 1 H | 1 BB | 1 K | 5 Whiffs | 37% CSW |
| Gregory Soto | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 3 K | 4 Whiffs | 54% CSW |
| Mason Montgomery – L (1) | 0.0 IP | 2 ER | 2 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 1 Whiffs | 40% CSW |
- Gregory Soto’s stuff was up in this one, and it showed with that stat line. Promising showing after his previous blown save.
- I like Mason Montgomery’s curveball, but he leaned on it a bit too much here, with his first two pitches being curveballs to Wetherholt (he singled on the second one) and then hanging an 0-2 curveball to Herrera for the walk-off home run. Just one fastball in five pitches is weird.
| St. Louis Cardinals | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Gordon Graceffo | 1.1 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 2 Whiffs | 20% CSW |
| Ryne Stanek – HLD (9) | 0.2 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 1 BB | 0 K | 0 Whiffs | 22% CSW |
| JoJo Romero – HLD (14) | 1.1 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 2 K | 2 Whiffs | 31% CSW |
| Riley O’Brien – BS (4) | 1.0 IP | 2 ER | 2 H | 1 BB | 0 K | 3 Whiffs | 23% CSW |
| George Soriano – W (2) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 3 Whiffs | 42% CSW |
- This outing for Riley O’Brien may be worse than the stat line suggests, as it does not take into account the two hit by pitches here, as he started the inning with a single, and back-to-back HBP’s. He did get a double play from Ozuna, but then walked Cruz and allowed a single to Horwitz to tie the game before getting Lowe to fly out to the warning track. My concern level is relatively low, especially considering the lack of alternative options, but these types of outings will happen when you lack pure swing and miss ability.
TEX 10 – COL 0
| Texas Rangers | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Kumar Rocker – W (2) | 7.2 IP | 0 ER | 3 H | 3 BB | 7 K | 19 Whiffs | 31% CSW |
| Jalen Beeks | 0.1 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 0 Whiffs | 0% CSW |
- Kumar Rocker almost finished this game out, so nothing to see here.
| Colorado Rockies | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tanner Gordon | 6.1 IP | 7 ER | 12 H | 1 BB | 5 K | 6 Whiffs | 26% CSW |
| Seth Halvorsen | 1.0 IP | 1 ER | 2 H | 2 BB | 0 K | 1 Whiffs | 20% CSW |
| Brett Sullivan | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 1 BB | 0 K | 0 Whiffs | 8% CSW |
- Seth Halvorsen was throwing 100 MPH the other day, but was down to 97 here.
ATH 14 – LAA 6
| Athletics | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Justin Sterner – W (2) | 0.1 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 1 Whiffs | 25% CSW |
| Jack Perkins – HLD (2) | 2.0 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 2 Whiffs | 27% CSW |
| Scott Barlow | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 2 Whiffs | 30% CSW |
| Hogan Harris | 1.0 IP | 2 ER | 2 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 3 Whiffs | 31% CSW |
| Joel Kuhnel | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 2 K | 3 Whiffs | 47% CSW |
- Jack Perkins being relegated to the 5th/6th inning here is not what anyone was hoping to see, and the stuff did not look as good as it had. It unfortunately may be time to move on.
| Los Angeles Angels | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Jose Fermin | 0.1 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 1 BB | 0 K | 1 Whiffs | 20% CSW |
| Ryan Johnson | 2.0 IP | 5 ER | 4 H | 1 BB | 0 K | 2 Whiffs | 21% CSW |
| Brent Suter | 1.0 IP | 1 ER | 2 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 2 Whiffs | 30% CSW |
- I’m not sure why Ryan Johnson is still here, as everything is down stuff-wise.
LAD 5 – SDP 4
| Los Angeles Dodgers | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Edgardo Henriquez | 1.1 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 1 BB | 1 K | 3 Whiffs | 33% CSW |
| Alex Vesia | 0.2 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 0 Whiffs | 14% CSW |
| Blake Treinen | 0.2 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 1 BB | 0 K | 0 Whiffs | 10% CSW |
| Tanner Scott – W (1) | 1.1 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 1 BB | 2 K | 7 Whiffs | 38% CSW |
| Will Klein – SV (1) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 2 Whiffs | 30% CSW |
- Tanner Scott got the lats out of the seventh and the eighth inning here in a tie game, which could be frustrating if you were hoping for a save, but at least you got a win, and some K’s out of it. It worked out as Will Klein got to face the bottom of the Padres order in the ninth (plus Tatis) to give him an easy save.
| San Diego Padres | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Jeremiah Estrada – BS (2) | 1.0 IP | 1 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 2 Whiffs | 39% CSW |
| Bradgley Rodriguez | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 2 K | 3 Whiffs | 43% CSW |
| Adrian Morejon | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 6 Whiffs | 32% CSW |
| Mason Miller – L (1) | 0.2 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 1 BB | 0 K | 1 Whiffs | 9% CSW |
| Ron Marinaccio | 0.1 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 1 Whiffs | 60% CSW |
- So this was a weird Mason Miller line, obviously, as he had just 1 whiff and 1 called strike here on 22 total pitches thrown (both happening within the first three pitches of the outing). The last 18 pitches of this one resulted in either a ball, foul, or ball in play. Miller caused his own problems, though, with a walk and then a throwing error on a pick-off attempt (he had Call picked too) before Page’s sacrifice fly gave the Dodgers the lead.
SFG 3 – ARI 5
| San Francisco Giants | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Keaton Winn – HLD (10) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 1 BB | 1 K | 2 Whiffs | 14% CSW |
| Erik Miller – HLD (5) | 0.1 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 3 BB | 0 K | 1 Whiffs | 24% CSW |
| Caleb Kilian – L (2) | 1.1 IP | 2 ER | 2 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 2 Whiffs | 32% CSW |
| Matt Gage – BS (1) | 0.0 IP | 1 ER | 1 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 0 Whiffs | 0% CSW |
- Caleb Kilian couldn’t quite close things out for the Giants here as he allowed two hits and a baserunner on a catcher interference call before Matt Gage came in and allowed a walkoff HR to Marte. Kilian’s stuff fluctuates from average to good, Erik Miller can’t throw strikes, and Keaton Winn is somewhere in between both, so what’s the answer here for the Giants in the ninth?
| Arizona Diamondbacks | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Kevin Ginkel | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 1 BB | 3 K | 5 Whiffs | 47% CSW |
| Jonathan Loáisiga – W (1) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 0 K | 0 Whiffs | 10% CSW |
- Kevin Ginkel with three K’s here, and he’s been much better lately, but the stuff is still average. The command has been much better, though, and the velo was up 1 MPH, so there’s some hope.
CHW 2 – SEA 1
| Chicago White Sox | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tyler Davis | 1.2 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 1 BB | 4 K | 5 Whiffs | 47% CSW |
| Bryan Hudson – W (2) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 4 Whiffs | 45% CSW |
| Grant Taylor – SV (1) | 1.0 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 3 K | 4 Whiffs | 62% CSW |
- Grant Taylor was pretty darn dominant here, and Seranthony Domínguez was at least hypothetically available. Taylor struck out all three lefties he faced and has not allowed an earned run over the past month while also sporting a 38.6% K rate. If you have space to speculatively add him, the upside could pay off.
| Seattle Mariners | |||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| José A. Ferrer – HLD (6) | 0.1 IP | 0 ER | 0 H | 0 BB | 1 K | 1 Whiffs | 75% CSW |
| Luis Castillo – L (5) | 2.1 IP | 2 ER | 1 H | 2 BB | 4 K | 10 Whiffs | 30% CSW |
| Andrés Muñoz – BS (3) | 0.2 IP | 0 ER | 2 H | 0 BB | 2 K | 3 Whiffs | 45% CSW |
- Andrés Muñoz had an unfortunate outing here, and I partially blame the Mariners for this whole Luis Castillo debacle. Muñoz entered the ninth with two runners on and just one out, Meidroth snuck a groundball by the pulled in first basemen for the first hit allowed, while Benintendi hit a ground ball off Naylors glove (still playing in) on the next pitch. He finished with two strikeouts, but this was some really bad luck, and he does not deserve blame for the blown save.
