The division reports debuted last year. The goal of this article series is to provide a quick overview of all dynasty-relevant information from each division. Each team has multiple minor league levels, each containing plenty of impactful prospects, which can feel impossible to keep up with. This article series, which will be updated once per month, will help dynasty managers stay up-to-date on performances, injuries, promotions, and more. New this season is the inclusion of tiers in the rankings. Next to their rank, each prospect is assigned a tier. The tier range is 1-5.
- Tier 1: A potential difference-making dynasty prospect. Somebody who would rank in the top-20ish prospects for dynasty baseball
- Tier 2: A still very good dynasty prospect who holds plenty of value. This prospect would typically rank in the 21-75 range
- Tier 3: A mid-tier prospect who could be valuable but has questions and concerns present in his profile, ranking in the 76-150 range
- Tier 4: A prospect who is worth knowing, but is reserved for deeper leagues. This prospect would rank 151-250
- Tier 5: The rest of the prospects fall into Tier 5
Years of anchoring down at the bottom of the NL Central have given the Reds ample opportunity to build a strong system, and they’ve done just that. Headlined by Cam Collier and Chase Burns, this group of young stars has an exciting blend of raw talent and projectability, giving Cincinnati something to look forward to. The top prospects in the Queen City are right here!
Notable Prospect Promotions and News
- Reds 2B prospect Sal Stewart continues to rake, and following his appearance in the Futures Game, he was promoted to AAA on July 18th. Since the move, Stewart is slashing .313/.371/.588 with four homers and ten doubles in 21 games, adding in three steals. Stewart is arguably the best offensive prospect in the Reds’ system and could be in line for MLB at-bats by the end of 2025. The 21-year-old has an .842 OPS over his three MiLB seasons and is averaging at least 10 homers, 10 steals, and 25 doubles in every season. If you haven’t landed any shares of Stewart in dynasty, you need to be aggressive to do so this offseason.
- It’s been a slower path to success for Leo Balcazar, but the 21-year-old finally got the call to AA on July 11th. Balcazar has performed well at every level, but spent 177 games in High-A before getting the bump. This season at High-A, he slashed .262/.333/.413 with 17 doubles and nine homers, which is far more production than he had over a full season there in 2024. Balcazar does a nice job of controlling the zone, making frequent contact, and getting on base. There isn’t a ton of power in the bat so far, but he’s a guy who could get to 10-15 homers as a pro.
Notable Prospect Performances
- Alfredo Duno is one of the most underrated catching prospects in baseball, but with the way he’s performing right now, it won’t be long before his hype reaches a fever pitch. The 19-year-old just finished a 39-game on-base streak earlier in July and has a .416 OBP in 93 games this season. Duno is also starting to tap into more power with nine homers this season versus three in 2024. He’s still quite young for his level, but Duno hits the ball in the air over 40% of the time, has respectable strikeout rates, and is an OBP monster. His track to the Majors may be a quick one, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see him move to Double-A to open 2026.
- Outfielder Hector Rodriguez joined Triple-A on the same day as Stewart, but his recent performance is drawing most of the attention. Across two levels and 23 games in July, Rodriguez tallied 30 hits, including nine for extra bases, and added four steals en route to a .849 OPS. Since moving to Triple-A, Rodriguez is slashing .341/.407/.524 with three homers and four steals in just 20 games. He’s always been a consistent performer in the Reds’ system, but is often overlooked for the star power of Cam Collier and Sal Stewart, among others. Rodriguez has a very real chance of reaching the Majors as a 22-year-old next season, and given his ability to hit for average, power, and steal bases, he has an enticing fantasy profile that’s worth rostering in Dynasty.
