Chicago White Sox Top Dynasty Prospects – August Edition

Chicago White Sox top dynasty prospects for the month of August

The division reports debuted last year. The goal of this article series is to provide a quick overview of all dynasty-relevant information from each division. Each team has multiple minor league levels, each containing plenty of impactful prospects, which can feel impossible to keep up with. This article series, which will be updated once per month, will help dynasty managers stay up-to-date on performances, injuries, promotions, and more. New this season is the inclusion of tiers in the rankings. Next to their rank, each prospect is assigned a tier. The tier range is 1-5.

  • Tier 1: A potential difference-making dynasty prospect. Somebody who would rank in the top-20ish prospects for dynasty baseball
  • Tier 2: A still very good dynasty prospect who holds plenty of value. This prospect would typically rank in the 21-75 range
  • Tier 3: A mid-tier prospect who could be valuable but has questions and concerns present in his profile, ranking in the 76-150 range
  • Tier 4: A prospect who is worth knowing, but is reserved for deeper leagues. This prospect would rank 151-250
  • Tier 5: The rest of the prospects fall into Tier 5

Three of the White Sox’s top-10 prospects have made their MLB debuts since the last prospects’ monthly update, and all those who were on the injured list have returned to game action. Read up on the latest with the White Sox farm system and how they are taking the reigning worst team in baseball into a brighter future.

Top 10 Prospects

Notable Prospect Performances:

  • Sam Antonacci has been flying under the radar in the White Sox all season, but since arriving at Double-A in the second half of the year, he’s been on fire. The White Sox promoted him to Birmingham on July 18, and he finished out the month hitting .342/.510/.421 slash line, three doubles, three RBI, seven stolen bases, 10 walks, and just eight strikeouts over 12 games. It’s an impressive start for Antonacci at Double-A and has landed him on the White Sox’s top-10 prospect list for the first time. He should be an intriguing player for White Sox fans to keep tabs on for the remainder of the season.
  • Christian Oppor had a dominant five-start stretch in Low-A before being moved up to High-A Kannapolis. Since he arrived there, things haven’t gone quite as he has a 4.06 ERA and 1.42 WHIP in 44.1 innings in High-A. Fortunately, most of his numbers are inflated from a bad month of May. In July, Oppor pitched to a 4.05 ERA over four starts, striking out 25 batters and walking seven in 13.1 innings. The strikeout-to-walk numbers have placed Oppor into the White Sox’s top 10 as more players graduate off the list and will make him a noticeable prospect to keep tabs on for the next few seasons.

Notable Prospect News and Promotions:

  • The White Sox’s top prospect, Noah Schultz, has been on the shelf for over a month now as he last started on July 3 for Triple-A Charlotte. Schultz has been dealing with right knee discomfort since his call-up to Triple-A, which is an indicator of the poor performance he had over his three starts with the Knights. He allowed 15 earned runs in 11.1 innings, off of 18 hits and eight walks, while only striking out 13. There haven’t been any updates on Schultz’s health since July 18, indicating he could be out for the rest of the season and unlikely to see his MLB debut before 2026.
  • The White Sox have been moving Braden Montgomery fast up the system this season, and he arrived in Double-A for the final weekend of games in July. He only went 2-for-13 with nine strikeouts in those three games with the Birmingham Barons, but he was performing better in High-A for most of the month, putting up a .250/.384/.400 slash line with one home run, eight RBI, 12 walks, and 22 strikeouts. The White Sox may be too aggressive with how fast they’re moving the 12th overall pick from the 2024 draft. Though he does have the potential to make it to the majors in 2026, they may want to halt the breaks before he arrives to the majors unprepared.
