San Diego Padres Top Dynasty Prospects – September Edition

San Diego Padres Top Prospects September 2025 Edition

The division reports debuted last year. The goal of this article series is to provide a quick overview of all dynasty-relevant information from each division. Each team has multiple levels each containing plenty of impactful prospects which can feel impossible to keep up with. This article series, which will be updated once per month, will help dynasty managers stay up to date on performances, injuries, promotions, and more. New this season is the inclusion of tiers in the rankings. Next to their rank, each prospect is assigned a tier. The tier range is 1-5.

  • Tier 1: A potential difference-making dynasty prospect. Somebody who would rank in the top-20ish prospects for dynasty baseball
  • Tier 2: A still very good dynasty prospect who holds plenty of value. This prospect would typically rank in the 21-75 range
  • Tier 3: A mid-tier prospect who could be valuable but has questions and concerns present in his profile ranking in the 76-150 range
  • Tier 4: A prospect who is worth knowing, but is reserved for deeper leagues. This prospect would rank 151-250
  • Tier 5: The rest of the prospects fall into Tier 5

Top 10 Prospects

Notable Prospect Performances:

  • Isaac Ponce’s DSL performance has flown under the radar. Ponce is a big 6’2″ catching prospect who is likely to land at first base as he continues to grow into his body. 2025 was his second season in the DSL, but he hit .266 with six homers and four stolen bases. His contact skills looked really strong (78% contact rate), he showed off a good feel for getting to his pull side, and he walked 12.3% of the time. There is no action to pick Ponce up, but he is worth adding to your watch list.
  • Enmanuel Pinales is pitching well in Double-A. Pinales is a bit older (24 years old) but has still put up solid numbers this year, splitting time between High-A and Double-A. He has pitched especially well over his last eight starts, where he owns a 3.05 ERA. There is not a ton of upside, but in a thin system, Pinales could find himself in the Major Leagues next year.
  • Kannon Kemp is pitching well to end the season. The Padres love pitching prospects with unique names that start with K. After being drafted in 2023, Kemp did not make his professional debut until this season due to shoulder injuries. Healthy now, Kemp is starting to find his form. Over his last five starts, he owns a 2.70 ERA. His fastball velocity has steadily increased as he has continued to shake off the rust, and he could turn into a dynasty-relevant pitching prospect next season.

Notable Prospect Promotions and News:

  • Kruz Schoolcraft made his professional debut. Schoolcraft pitched 1.2 innings for Low-A in his professional debut. He allowed two earned runs, walked three, and struck out four. The walks are certainly not what you want to see, but his ability to strike out four of the five batters he faced is encouraging for his future outlook. His fastball velocity is a definite plus, and his changeup is already a plus offering. The development of his breaking pitches will ultimately determine how high his dynasty ceiling is.
  • Older prospect Marcos Castanon was promoted from Double-A to Triple-A. The former 12th-round pick is 26 years old, but is now only one step away from the Major Leagues. Castanon was batting .269 with 12 homers in Double-A prior to his promotion. In eight games at Triple-A, he has already hit three more home runs and is batting .393. His future value is likely capped at a utility bench infielder, but he is a fun story to root for as the season winds down.
