The division reports debuted last year. The goal of this article series is to provide a quick overview of all dynasty-relevant information from each division. Each team has multiple levels each containing plenty of impactful prospects which can feel impossible to keep up with. This article series, which will be updated once per month, will help dynasty managers stay up to date on performances, injuries, promotions, and more. New this season is the inclusion of tiers in the rankings. Next to their rank, each prospect is assigned a tier. The tier range is 1-5.
- Tier 1: A potential difference-making dynasty prospect. Somebody who would rank in the top-20ish prospects for dynasty baseball
- Tier 2: A still very good dynasty prospect who holds plenty of value. This prospect would typically rank in the 21-75 range
- Tier 3: A mid-tier prospect who could be valuable but has questions and concerns present in his profile ranking in the 76-150 range
- Tier 4: A prospect who is worth knowing, but is reserved for deeper leagues. This prospect would rank 151-250
- Tier 5: The rest of the prospects fall into Tier 5
This article details all of the changes dynasty managers need to know about prospects from the Rangers. The goal is to help dynasty managers stay updated on the latest information with in-depth looks at each specific team! Each division will come with a monthly update that readers can look forward to.
This list features prospects not currently in the Majors.
Notable Prospect Promotions and News
- One of my biggest misses over the last couple of months has been how low I’ve been ranking Caden Scarborough. That has been rectified. Once the 20-year-old got his promotion to High-A at the end of August, I looked into him more, and it became clear he’s really good. Since moving up, Scarborough has thrown 13 shutout innings across 3 starts with 19 strikeouts and just 2 walks. He is a massive up arrow prospect and has been most of the season.
- In the back third of August, Maxton Martin received a promotion to High-A. He earned the promotion after hitting .259 with 12 homers and 13 steals in Single-A. After the promotion, he’s played 14 games at the time of writing, hitting .256 with a pair of homers and a pair of steals.
Notable Prospect Performances
- After signing with Texas, Gavin Fien was assigned to Single-A. The prep infielder is hitting .220 through 41 at-bats. Included in his 9 hits are 3 doubles and a triple. The 18-year-old is showing some good power, even if the results aren’t quite there yet. This isn’t the most sparkling stat line, but with Fien’s reputation, there are good signs here. Watching him, he’s an imposing force in the batter’s box with a lot of upside.

- Abimelec Ortiz did exactly what Abimelec Ortiz does in the month of August. He hit .256 with 6 homers and 24 strikeouts in 86 at-bats. There is some power in his profile, but he’ll bring plenty of swing and miss. His career average is .255, so that’s right on pace with who he has been as a prospect. Maybe that’s not “notable”, but for a guy who is going to be competing for a big league spot next year, it’s good to get an idea of what to expect.
Congratulations to outfielder Abimelec Ortiz on being named Texas League Player of the Month! 🔥
