Texas Rangers Top Prospects – May Update

Texas Rangers Top Prospects May 2025 Update

The division reports debuted last year. The goal of this article series is to provide a quick overview of all dynasty-relevant information from each division. Each team has multiple levels each containing plenty of impactful prospects which can feel impossible to keep up with. This article series, which will be updated once per month, will help dynasty managers stay up to date on performances, injuries, promotions, and more. New this season is the inclusion of tiers in the rankings. Next to their rank, each prospect is assigned a tier. The tier range is 1-5.

  • Tier 1: A potential difference-making dynasty prospect. Somebody who would rank in the top-20ish prospects for dynasty baseball
  • Tier 2: A still very good dynasty prospect who holds plenty of value. This prospect would typically rank in the 21-75 range
  • Tier 3: A mid-tier prospect who could be valuable but has questions and concerns present in his profile ranking in the 76-150 range
  • Tier 4: A prospect who is worth knowing, but is reserved for deeper leagues. This prospect would rank 151-250
  • Tier 5: The rest of the prospects fall into Tier 5

This article details all of the changes dynasty managers need to know on prospects from the Rangers. The goal is to help dynasty managers stay updated on the latest information with in-depth looks at each specific team! Each division will come with a monthly update that readers can look forward to.

This list features prospects not currently in the Majors.

Top 10 Prospects

Notable Prospect Performances:

  • Dylan Dreiling, OF – Dreiling is a 2024 second round pick that struggled with his first taste of professional pitching last summer, hitting just .198 in 25 games. It’s been the opposite story for the former Volunteer this season as Dreiling is hitting .294/.402/.441 with two home runs and five steals in 18 games. He’s also walking at a 15.9% clip. That’s good for a 142 wRC+. Dreiling was overshadowed by Christian Moore at Tennessee, and is an under-the-radar prospect that should be monitored in case of a potential breakout.
  • Alejandro Osuna, OF – Osuna was one of the best performers in all of Spring Training, hitting .429 while walking as much as he struck out in 24 games. He’s at Double-A now and still producing, triple slashing .292/.369/.461 with two home runs and four steals in 21 games. The outfielder had a .216 ISO in 2024 with most of his games at High-A, so Osuna’s power is a underrated part of his game.

Notable Prospect News:

  • Jack Leiter and Kumar Rocker, P – These two are always linked together — and here we are again. Neither pitcher is ranked in the chart above as they are currently with the MLB team, though they both currently hold prospect status. They are both knocking on the door of exhausting that prospect status, though, and Leiter likely will exhaust his in his next start. Leiter made two excellent MLB starts (10 innings, 10 strikeouts and just one earned run) at the beginning of the year before hitting the IL with a blister. He’s back now, and his first outing back didn’t go so well. The righty allowed two runs in 3.1 frames while walking four and striking out three. Rocker, on the other hand, made five starts but now finds himself on the IL with a shoulder impingement. That injury could help explain Rocker’s most recent performance where he allowed give runs in 1.2 innings, but it’s been rocky overall for the right hander in 2025. Hopefully we can see both of these arms in the Texas rotation sometime soon rather than watching them play tag team with the Injured List.
  • Winston Santos, P – Speaking of pitchers with injuries, Santos hit the minor league IL with a back injury on April 24. The righty hasn’t appeared in a game since April 15, and has only thrown 5.2 Double-A innings so far this season. Now, in those framings Santos did strike out 11 while only allowing two runs, so we have seen a flash of the upside. Santos is estimated to be out 8-10 weeks. Hopefully the injury isn’t serious as the Rangers are already without fellow top pitching prospect Alejandro Rosario for the entirety of 2024.
