Philadelphia Phillies Top Dynasty Prospects- August Edition

Philadelphia Phillies Top Prospects August 2025 Update

The division reports debuted last year. The goal of this article series is to provide a quick overview of all dynasty-relevant information from each division. Each team has multiple minor league levels, each containing plenty of impactful prospects which can feel impossible to keep up with. This article series, which will be updated once per month, will help dynasty managers stay up-to-date on performances, injuries, promotions, and more. New this season is the inclusion of tiers in the rankings. Next to their rank, each prospect is assigned a tier. The tier range is 1-5.

  • Tier 1: A potential difference-making dynasty prospect. Somebody who would rank in the top-20ish prospects for dynasty baseball
  • Tier 2: A still very good dynasty prospect who holds plenty of value. This prospect would typically rank in the 21-75 range
  • Tier 3: A mid-tier prospect who could be valuable but has questions and concerns present in his profile ranking in the 76-150 range
  • Tier 4: A prospect who is worth knowing, but is reserved for deeper leagues. This prospect would rank 151-250
  • Tier 5: The rest of the prospects fall into Tier 5

The Phillies’ farm system got a small boost following the 2025 MLB Draft. The team added several college pitchers headlined by first-round pick Gage Wood. However, the prospects below were also thinned out by the Trade Deadline, in which they dealt away Mick Abel, Eduardo Tait, and Hendry Mendez. Keep reading to see the updated list of Phillies’ top prospects for the month of August.

Top 10 Prospects

Notable Prospect Performances

  • Andrew Painter has put together two solid back-to-back starts. The expectation is still that Painter will be recalled by the Phillies at some point this season but those in the fantasy community are growing restless. Yes, his strikeout numbers are down a bit, but all of his pitches continue to look excellent based on stuff. Painter continues to shake off the rust of missing two full seasons and should be considered an elite dynasty asset.
  • Speaking of pitchers missing extended time, Alex McFarlane has had an up and down 2025 season after missing all of 2024. Although inconsistent, McFarlane has seen his numbers improve as of late. Over his last five starts, McFarlane owns a 1.64 ERA and a 1.90 FIP. He is also striking out 37.6% of batters during that period. He is a name worth paying attention to in deep leagues.
  • The team’s first round pick from 2024, Dante Nori, does not bring a ton of upside for dynasty managers. However, he has plus contact skills, good speed, and has been red hot in July. Since the start of July, Nori is slashing .324/.446/.541 with more walks than strikeouts. The team should promote him to High-A before the end of the season.

Notable Promotions and News:

  • The Phillies selected pitcher Gage Wood with their first-round selection in this past draft. Wood is most well-known for his no-hitter in the Men’s College World Series this past season. Fellow Pitcher List writer Trevor Powers was quick to write up a dynasty outlook on what Wood brings to the table. His fastball is amongst the best in this draft class and his slider is filthy. The development of a third pitch will be key to his future success. For now, he slots in fifth on the Phillies’ top prospect rankings.
  • The Phillies farm system took a hit at the Trade Deadline. Both Mick Abel and Eduardo Tait went to Minnesota as part of the Jhoan Duran trade and then the team also sent Hendry Mendez to the Twins for Harrison Bader. Both Abel and Tait ranked as tier-three prospects prior to the trade.
  • Cade Obermueller and Matthew Fisher also join the Phillies’ top ten list following this past draft. The Phillies were not shy about targetting pitching in this year’s draft. Obermueller is a funky lefty who increased the velocity on his fastball this past season. He profiles as an especially tough at-bat for lefties in the future. Fisher was ranked as one of the top prep arms entering this draft and fell to the seventh round due to his commitment to Indiana University, but instead chose the Phillies. Fisher could fly up the rankings once he steps onto a pro mound.
