The division reports debuted last year. The goal of this article series is to provide a quick overview of all dynasty-relevant information from each division. Each team has multiple minor league levels, each containing plenty of impactful prospects which can feel impossible to keep up with. This article series, which will be updated once per month, will help dynasty managers stay up-to-date on performances, injuries, promotions, and more. New this season is the inclusion of tiers in the rankings. Next to their rank, each prospect is assigned a tier. The tier range is 1-5.
- Tier 1: A potential difference-making dynasty prospect. Somebody who would rank in the top-20ish prospects for dynasty baseball
- Tier 2: A still very good dynasty prospect who holds plenty of value. This prospect would typically rank in the 21-75 range
- Tier 3: A mid-tier prospect who could be valuable but has questions and concerns present in his profile ranking in the 76-150 range
- Tier 4: A prospect who is worth knowing, but is reserved for deeper leagues. This prospect would rank 151-250
- Tier 5: The rest of the prospects fall into Tier 5
The Boston Red Sox are chock full of high-end talent. With two Top 10 overall prospects and several more Top 100 players, the Sox have rapidly ascended as one of the strongest systems in the game. Here is a look at their top prospects and other news in their organization.
Top 10 Prospects
Notable Prospect News and Promotions
- You’ll hear a lot about left-hander Brandon Clarke this season and beyond as the youngster quickly ascends the prospect rankings. Clarke was a 5th-round pick in 2024 and did not debut in the Minors before this season. Clarke made just three starts at Class A before being promoted to High-A Greenville, where he is already dominating. Across two levels, Clarke has a 0.63 ERA with 24 strikeouts in 14 1/3 innings. His strikeout rate on the season is over 40%, and he’s missing bats at a 22% clip. If you want to get in early on a talented young arm, now is the time to buy Clarke.
- Clarke isn’t the only prospect getting an early jump in the Sox system, as 2024 breakout Franklin Arias is joining him at High-A. Arias is just 19 years old but posted a .896 OPS across two levels last season, and after a red-hot start, he’s moving up. In 25 games this season, Arias is batting .314 with two homers, five doubles, and five steals and is reaching base at a .397 clip. The Red Sox are loaded with young positional player prospects, and Arias looks to be on his way to the upper echelon in the organization.
Notable Prospect Performances
- Marcelo Mayer led all of the Minor Leagues with 32 RBI in April, continuing on a torrid pace he started back in Spring Training. Mayer is batting .268 with seven homers and four doubles in addition to the RBI while also playing elite defense at SS. The biggest problem is that Mayer is blocked and has nowhere to go, leaving his red-hot bat in the Minors.
- It’s rare to see an April trade, let alone one that flips a top prospect to a new organization. But that’s what happened to Yophery Rodriguez, as he was shipped to the Red Sox in exchange for Quinn Priester. Rodriguez wasted no time acclimating himself to the organization by reaching base safely in 18 of his first 19 games with six extra-base hits and five steals. The 19-year-old has impressive raw tools and will only get better as he develops physically. Look for Rodriguez to climb inside the Top 50 prospects in baseball by the season’s end.
- Although I argued against him earlier this offseason, Yordanny Monegro wants to make me eat crow. Monegro has accumulated 27 strikeouts in four starts, including a nine-strikeout performance on April 16th. Perhaps even more impressive was that Monegro accomplished that by working in relief of the rehabbing Brayan Bello. There’s considerable talent in the right arm of the 22-year-old, and if he can keep his emotions in check, he’s got ace upside.
Marcelo Mayer is UNREAL!
