Los Angeles Dodgers Top Dynasty Prospects- May Edition

Los Angeles Dodgers Top Prospects May 2025 Edition

The division reports debuted last year. The goal of this article series is to provide a quick overview of all dynasty-relevant information from each division. Each team has multiple levels each containing plenty of impactful prospects which can feel impossible to keep up with. This article series, which will be updated once per month, will help dynasty managers stay up to date on performances, injuries, promotions, and more. New this season is the inclusion of tiers in the rankings. Next to their rank, each prospect is assigned a tier. The tier range is 1-5.

  • Tier 1: A potential difference-making dynasty prospect. Somebody who would rank in the top-20ish prospects for dynasty baseball
  • Tier 2: A still very good dynasty prospect who holds plenty of value. This prospect would typically rank in the 21-75 range
  • Tier 3: A mid-tier prospect who could be valuable but has questions and concerns present in his profile ranking in the 76-150 range
  • Tier 4: A prospect who is worth knowing, but is reserved for deeper leagues. This prospect would rank 151-250
  • Tier 5: The rest of the prospects fall into Tier 5

Not only do the Dodgers have one of the best teams in Major League baseball, but their farm system is also stacked from top to bottom. They have an excellent blend of talent knocking on the Major League door along with another wave of talent in the lower levels of the Minor Leagues. This farm system is headlined by two tier-one prospects in Zyhir Hope and Dalton Rushing. The newly updated top ten also features fast-rising pitching prospect Sean Linan. Keep reading for the latest news, notes, and performances from the Dodgers’ farm system.

Top 10 Prospects

Notable Prospect Performances:

  • Despite not moving up any spots in the top ten above, Josue De Paula’s start to the season is very encouraging. The biggest hit on De Paula in the past few seasons has been a high ground ball rate. This year, De Paula is driving the ball in the air more than ever, with his ground ball rate dropping below 42%. This has led to a power surge that is more than believable while maintaining excellent contact rates. De Paula slid up into the second tier of prospects and could continue climbing as the season progresses.
  • Sean Linan is flying up prospect boards. The Dodgers seem to have a pitching prospect fly up boards every year, and this year is Linan. Linan does not have overpowering stuff. His fastball sits 93-94 most days but gets good movement. His changeup is his best offering, but the slider is also looking to improve this season and helping fuel his 44.2% strikeout rate through six appearances. Linan’s funky arm slot, high-effort delivery, and mediocre fastball velocity keep him down in tier four in this month’s update. However, if you want to get in on him, you are likely running out of time.
  • Nick Frasso has not looked the same since returning to the mound. Frasso missed the entirety of the 2024 season recovering from injury and is struggling early on this season. Notably, he has more walks than strikeouts. According to PLV, Frasso’s fastball, changeup, and slider all grade out well below the league average. He drops off the top ten list in this month’s update.

Notable Prospect Promotions and News:

  • Joendry Vargas is dealing with some sort of injury. Vargas played in just eight games to start the season before this mystery injury popped up. He has not appeared in a game since April 13 and the team has not released any information regarding the injury. His speed combined with power projection, makes Vargas one of the top dynasty prospects in baseball. Hopefully, he will return to the lineup soon.
  • The top prospect to watch in Complex play is undoubtedly Emil Morales. Morales hit .342 with 14 homers and 12 stolen bases in the DSL last year and now is Stateside where his talent will be on full display. The development of his hit tool is the biggest question mark in the 6’3″ shortstop’s profile.
