  • Tier 2: A still very good dynasty prospect who holds plenty of value. This prospect would typically rank in the 21-75 range
  • Tier 3: A mid-tier prospect who could be valuable but has questions and concerns present in his profile ranking in the 76-150 range
  • Tier 4: A prospect who is worth knowing, but is reserved for deeper leagues. This prospect would rank 151-250
  • Tier 5: The rest of the prospects fall into Tier 5

Top 10 Prospects

Notable Prospect Promotions and News

  • OF Lazaro Montes, SP Jurrangelo Cjintje, and Harry Ford have been selected for the Futures Game. Montes has already surpassed 20 home runs between the two levels this season. Cjintje is a switch-pitcher who is carrying a strikeout percentage in the mid-20s. Ford has debuted briefly, but is hitting over .300 during his time in Triple-A this season.
  • 2B Michael Arroyo and Lazaro Montes have been promoted to Double-A.
  • OF Jonny Farmelo has been out since late May with a back injury. He is still working his way back to action.

Notable Prospect Performances

  • A late-month promotion has not slowed down 2B Michael Arroyo. Between High-A and Double-A, Arroyo slashed .322/.446/.644 with 8 home runs in the month of June. He walked just as much as he struck out, 15 times a piece for the month. Arroyo has recovered from his slow start and begun to put up impressive numbers, earning a promotion along with Lazaro Montes. Many of Arroyo’s questions revolve around where he’ll play defensively, which will add pressure to his bat. Still, with his ability to make contact and lift the ball, it appears he’ll be able to withstand that pressure.

  • OF Lazaro Montes was the other prospect to reach Double-A, and that came with his own hot hitting. Over the last month, Montes hit 10 homers with a .253 average. The power surge has continued at the new level. At just 20 years old, Montes is very young for the level, which is a positive sign that he’ll be able to hit enough for his powerful archetype to manifest. His strikeout rate is in the mid-20s, though not high enough to warrant major concern, especially with his walk rate settling in the mid-teens.
