  • Tier 1: A potential difference-making dynasty prospect. Somebody who would rank in the top-20ish prospects for dynasty baseball
  • Tier 2: A still very good dynasty prospect who holds plenty of value. This prospect would typically rank in the 21-75 range
  • Tier 3: A mid-tier prospect who could be valuable but has questions and concerns present in his profile ranking in the 76-150 range
  • Tier 4: A prospect who is worth knowing, but is reserved for deeper leagues. This prospect would rank 151-250
  • Tier 5: The rest of the prospects fall into Tier 5

Top 10 Prospects

Notable Prospect Performers:

  • Felnin Celesten, SS – You can easily make the argument that Celesten is the top prospect in this deep Mariners system, and it’s possible that by the end of the season he will universally be considered a Top 15 prospect in all of baseball. Due to injuries, we unfortunately just haven’t seen a ton of games from Celesten the last few seasons. But what we have seen is impressive, and that certainly is the case to start in 2025. Through 17 Single-A games, the 19-year-old is hitting .319 with two home runs and four steals. This isn’t the first time we’ve seen a player perform exceptionally well in Modesto, so the numbers can be taken with a grain of salt — but Celesten looks like the real deal.
  • Cole Young, SS – Young is off to a sluggish start at Triple-A, hitting just .190 in 28 games. The shortstop has performed well at every level of the minors and at 21-years-old is quite young for the level, so its best to check back in in a month to see if he has adjusted to pitching at the minor’s highest level.

Notable Prospect News:

  • Jonny Farmelo, OF – Farmelo was off to a scorching start to the 2024 season, posting an .819 OPS with four home runs and 18 steals across 46 games at Single-A before suffering an ACL tear and requiring surgery. The good news here is that Farmelo is officially back! The tools-y outfielder returned to live game action on Tuesday, appearing in his first career High-A game. He didn’t waste any time and hit a home run in his return. The word is that Farmelo will have some restrictions in the early going which is to be expected — with that in mind, dynasty managers should temper expectations on what Farmelo provides out of the gate, especially on the base paths.
  • Logan Evans, P – Evans got the call to the big-league team with Logan Gilbert hitting the shelf with an elbow injury. As of now, it’s unclear how long Gilbert will be out, but it wouldn’t be surprising if it is several weeks. Evans had a solid MLB debut, tossing five innings of two run ball while striking out three. His 2024 in the minors can be described as a mixed bag, especially after receiving a good amount of preseason hype, but the 23-year-old looked as advertised in five Triple-A starts with a 3.86 ERA and a 17.4% K-BB rate. Evans doesn’t have frontline upside at the moment but any pitcher getting run in that Seattle ballpark deserves a look.
