Miami Marlins Top Dynasty Prospects – May Edition

Miami Marlins Top Prospects May 2025 Update

The division reports debuted last year. The goal of this article series is to provide a quick overview of all dynasty-relevant information from each division. Each team has multiple minor league levels, each containing plenty of impactful prospects which can feel impossible to keep up with. This article series, which will be updated once per month, will help dynasty managers stay up-to-date on performances, injuries, promotions, and more. New this season is the inclusion of tiers in the rankings. Next to their rank, each prospect is assigned a tier. The tier range is 1-5.

  • Tier 1: A potential difference-making dynasty prospect. Somebody who would rank in the top-20ish prospects for dynasty baseball
  • Tier 2: A still very good dynasty prospect who holds plenty of value. This prospect would typically rank in the 21-75 range
  • Tier 3: A mid-tier prospect who could be valuable but has questions and concerns present in his profile ranking in the 76-150 range
  • Tier 4: A prospect who is worth knowing, but is reserved for deeper leagues. This prospect would rank 151-250
  • Tier 5: The rest of the prospects fall into Tier 5

While the Marlins are the bottom feeders of a competitive NL East, Miami fans have plenty to be excited about. Recent trades and strong draft classes have given the Marlins a strong farm system filled with talent that should help the Major League team in years to come. For dynasty managers, the Marlins have a top-tier pitching prospect in Thomas White followed by two other pitching prospects who are more than capable of turning into reliable fantasy starters. Following the promotion of Agustín Ramírez, Deyvison De Los Santos appears next in line for a Major League promotion. Keep reading to learn the latest on the latest news and notes from the Miami Marlins farm system.

Top 10 Prospects

Notable Prospect Performances:

  • Liomar Martinez is the pitching prospect that all dynasty managers need to know. Through his first four appearances, Martinez is striking out 48.3% of the batters he has faced. His curveball gets more than 2,700 RPMs of spin on it. This pitch has plus-plus potential. His fastballs (both four-seam and sinker) sit around 93, but he gets good extension and has plenty of physical projection left to add velocity. He just misses cracking this top-ten list but is a name all dynasty managers need to have on their radar.
  • We, as a dynasty community, need to start talking about Jakob Marsee again. Marsee was mentioned in my takeover on last week’s stash list, and he is going to be brought up again here. Marsee got off to a slow start to the season. However, over the past two weeks, he has been on fire and is stealing bases at an elite rate. His plate discipline, contact skills, and speed are all excellent. A lack of plus power is the only thing keeping him from being considered one of the game’s top prospects. He moves up from fifth to fourth on this month’s update after Agustín Ramírez was promoted to the Major Leagues. Marsee should not be too far behind him.
  • Andrew Salas looks like he could be the real deal. Salas was signed out of Venezuela this past off-season. Despite just turning 17 in March, the Marlins aggressively sent Salas to Low-A where he is finding instant success. He has five steals and a pretty left-handed swing that holds plenty of power potential as he continues to develop. The most impressive thing is how Salas is walking over 25% of the time while posting contact rates in the mid-70s. Salas could soar up rankings as the season moves along.

Notable Promotions and News:

  • The team called up Agustín Ramírez to the Major Leagues. Ramirez is no longer featured on this list thanks to this promotion. His Major League career got off to a fast start as Ramirez collected seven hits in his first three games. There is a significant power upside in Ramirez’s profile for dynasty managers. The key for Ramirez will be making consistent contact and keeping his strikeout rate in check. He is locked into the primary catcher role in Miami.
  • Fellow catching prospect Joe Mack was already promoted from Double-A to Triple-A. Mack is up to four homers on the season and is showing off impressive batted-ball data since his promotion. His line drive rate and plate discipline have always been plus attributes but the power breakout he experienced last season is what makes Mack intriguing from a dynasty perspective. His contact skills and approach remain suspect but the hot start at the dish moves Mack onto the team’s top ten list in this May update.
  • Starlyn Caba is on the IL with a thumb injury. Caba came over to the Marlins this offseason in the Jesús Luzardo trade. Caba is an interesting prospect for dynasty managers. He has great speed, good contact skills, and an excellent understanding of the strike zone. He is also an excellent fielder. In all, Caba profiles as a better real-life prospect than a dynasty asset due to his lack of power. Caba moves down a couple of spots to eighth overall in this month’s update.
  • PJ Morlando returned to game action on April 22. The Marlins’ first-round pick from 2024 suffered a back injury after just one game last season and got a delayed start to this season after undergoing elbow surgery. Two injuries in less than a year are never a great way to start a professional career. Standing at 6’3″, Morlando has all of the raw tools to become a dynasty-relevant prospect. For now, he fails to crack the Marlins’ top ten list.
