Minnesota Twins Top Dynasty Prospects- June Edition

Top Twins Dynasty Prospects for the month of June

The division reports debuted last year. The goal of this article series is to provide a quick overview of all dynasty-relevant information from each division. Each team has multiple minor league levels, each containing plenty of impactful prospects, which can feel impossible to keep up with. This article series, which will be updated once per month, will help dynasty managers stay up-to-date on performances, injuries, promotions, and more. New this season is the inclusion of tiers in the rankings. Next to their rank, each prospect is assigned a tier. The tier range is 1-5.

  • Tier 1: A potential difference-making dynasty prospect. Somebody who would rank in the top-20ish prospects for dynasty baseball
  • Tier 2: A still very good dynasty prospect who holds plenty of value. This prospect would typically rank in the 21-75 range
  • Tier 3: A mid-tier prospect who could be valuable but has questions and concerns present in his profile, ranking in the 76-150 range
  • Tier 4: A prospect who is worth knowing, but is reserved for deeper leagues. This prospect would rank 151-250
  • Tier 5: The rest of the prospects fall into Tier 5

The Minnesota Twins were one of the hottest teams in May, riding a 13-game winning streak for half the month to a full 18-8 record. Some of their prospects have been playing even hotter, and Zebby Matthews‘ return to the majors has seen him graduate off the prospect list after throwing seven innings in his last start. See who has taken his place on the list and which other prospects have fallen off in favor of those who have performed well for the first two months of the 2025 season.

Top 10 Prospects

Notable Prospect Performances:

  • Kaelen Culpepper has remained hot throughout May, posting a .302/.413/.491 slash line with five home runs, 15 RBI, 11 stolen bases, a 12.7% walk rate, and 18.3% strikeout rate in 126 plate appearances over 26 games. Culpepper has not only been hot at the plate but has had great opportunities to flash his glove at shortstop for High-A Cedar Rapids. Culpepper has been one of the hottest bats in the Twins’ farm system all season. Despite some minor injury setbacks in April, he’s lived up to the hype after being the Twins’ top draft pick last year. If Culpepper keeps up this performance, he will find himself being moved up to Double-A Wichita before the month of June is over.
  • Right behind Culpepper in the Twins’ 2024 MLB Draft and tearing things up in Cedar Rapids, too, is infielder Kyle DeBarge. DeBarge is a fiend on the basepaths, leading the Midwest League with 30 steals on the season while owning a .278/.404/.450 slash line over 44 games, along with five home runs and 34 RBI. DeBarge’s speed is his greatest value, and it’s something the Twins have needed at the major league level in recent years. With several more players ahead of him on the Twins’ infield depth chart, both in the majors and the higher levels of the minor leagues, DeBarge is still at least a season away from making his MLB debut. However, his impressive skills on the base paths should be enough to entice dynasty fantasy teams to begin putting DeBarge on their radars for next season.
  • Dasan Hill only made his pro debut this season after he was drafted 69th overall as the Twins’ Competitive Balance Round B pick in the 2024 Draft. The 19-year-old lefty from Grapevine, Texas, has impressed in his first seven starts with Low-A Fort Myers this season, posting a 1.80 ERA, 0.95 WHIP, 11 walks, and 33 strikeouts over 20 innings of work. Hill is getting the same treatment as RHP Charlee Soto had a year ago, meaning he’s expected to spend the entire 2025 season in Low-A to build up his workload and establish a baseline against the competition. Even if things play out perfectly for Hill’s development, he’s still three years away from making his MLB debut. Still, as he’s already cracked Baseball America’s mid-season top-100 prospect list, he’s worth the early mention for dynasty managers to consider.

Notable Prospect News and Promotions:

  • Gabriel Gonzalez has reemerged to rejoin the ranks of the Twins’ top-10 prospect list following a less-than-ideal first season in the organization last year at High-A. Acquired in the trade that sent Jorge Polanco to the Mariners, Gonzalez started his second season in the Twins’ farm system back at High-A and tore the cover of the ball, hitting .319/.378/.529 with five home runs and 28 RBI in 34 games. He’s continued to make great contact at the plate since being promoted to Double-A Wichita two weeks ago, posting a .364/.440/.523 slash line in 50 plate appearances, but is still searching for the power to show up at the plate with no home runs as of yet, and just one RBI. Gonzalez’s resurgence into the top 10 list, due to his promotion to Double-A and continued hot performance there, makes him an ideal dynasty team candidate that owners will want to keep an eye on, especially since he’s only 21 years old.
  • Following a 10-day stint on the development list, the Twins’ top left-handed pitching prospect Connor Prielipp returned to the mound on Sunday looking as sharp as ever for one of his longest starts of the season. The Twins have kept Prielipp on the short leash for his starts, given the extent of his injury history, however, he threw four scoreless innings on Sunday, allowing only four hits, one walk, and striking out four on 52 pitches. Prielipp’s longterm future will likely see him as a high leverage reliever in the majors, but for now, the Twins feel comfortable running him out once a week for a start in Double-A to see where his arm strength is at, and if that maintains with good numbers in June, he could see a promotion to Triple-A well within his future.
