That being said, Robert Suarez hasn’t exactly been on fire, and the two have very similar ERA indicators and K-BB rates. Still, Suarez clearly is working with much better stuff these days than Iglesias, so we’re really just banking on Iglesias’s command being great for him to hang on to that role.

Garcia’s stuff has taken a hit, and it also appears as if he’s fallen out of favor for high-leverage work behind Cano and Andrew Kittredge. Even still, I probably prefer him to Cano and definitely to Kittredge right now.

John Schreiber over that same stretch has been amazing, with a 1.26 ERA (1.94 SIERA), 0.70 WHIP, and 30.6% K-BB rate (35% CSW). The increased velocity has really helped Schreiber, while Lynch realistically just had a fluky first month as his stuff has been fairly consistent from last year til now.

- From today’s RP Roundup: We know how dominant Louis Varland is, so let’s talk about Tyler Rogers. Has Rogers really been pitching that much better than Jeff Hoffman? Since May 20th, Rogers has held a 1.24 WHIP (4.01 SIERA) and a 9.5% K rate, while Hoffmans at a 1.00 WHIP (2.00 SIERA) and 36.5% K rate. Going back even further, since May 1st, Rogers WHIP is at 1.45 (3.73 SIERA) with a 13% K rate, while Hoffman’s WHIP is at 1.31 (2.37 SIERA) with a 30.7% K rate. Rogers has five more holds and a lower ERA since the start of May, but Hoffman leads in K’s, WHIP, and has four more wins. Based on everything, I’d lean towards Hoffman having the better second half.
