Los Angeles Angels Top Dynasty Prospects – July Edition

The Angels top dynasty prospects for the month of July

The division reports debuted last year. The goal of this article series is to provide a quick overview of all dynasty-relevant information from each division. Each team has multiple levels each containing plenty of impactful prospects which can feel impossible to keep up with. This article series, which will be updated once per month, will help dynasty managers stay up to date on performances, injuries, promotions, and more. New this season is the inclusion of tiers in the rankings. Next to their rank, each prospect is assigned a tier. The tier range is 1-5.

  • Tier 1: A potential difference-making dynasty prospect. Somebody who would rank in the top-20ish prospects for dynasty baseball
  • Tier 2: A still very good dynasty prospect who holds plenty of value. This prospect would typically rank in the 21-75 range
  • Tier 3: A mid-tier prospect who could be valuable but has questions and concerns present in his profile ranking in the 76-150 range
  • Tier 4: A prospect who is worth knowing, but is reserved for deeper leagues. This prospect would rank 151-250
  • Tier 5: The rest of the prospects fall into Tier 5

This article details all of the changes dynasty managers need to know on prospects from the Angels. The goal is to help dynasty managers stay updated on the latest information with in-depth looks at each specific team! Each division will come with a monthly update that readers can look forward to.

This list features prospects not currently in the Majors.

Los Angeles Angels

Top 10 Prospects

Notable Prospect Promotions and News

  • It took a little longer than anticipated, but Christian Moore has finally received the call up to the big leagues. He continued to hit after his promotion to Triple-A, which was all the Angels needed to see. In fact, I think their 2025 first round pick is already in the majors, too. In a small 16-game MLB sample at time of writing, Moore is hitting .200 with a trio of home runs and a strikeout rate north of 30 percent.
  • There hasn’t been any formal news on the matter, but Caden Dana hasn’t pitched since 6/11. He’s likely dealing with an injury of some sort, but he hasn’t been placed on the IL as of right now.
  • George Klassen is the lone representative for the Angles in the Futures Game. Klassen has a 6.99 ERA in Double-A with a 25 percent strikeout rate and a 10 percent walk rate. His stuff is electric, which has been on display in flashes this season, and he’ll be able to put that on display with the games best prospects.

Notable Prospect Performances

  • SP Trey Gregory-Alford had a great month, posting a 2.00 ERA with 20 strikeouts and five walks through 18 innings on the Complex. The 19-year-old is showing his flamethrowing abilities, sitting in the upper-90’s during his starts and topping out north of 100 MPH. He has a good starters frame, but there is a long way to go until he’s MLB ready. The pieces are all there for him to be a solid rotation arm for the Angels, who have the reputation of being aggressive with prospects who can perform. If Gregory-Alford turns this month into a longer stretch he may see A-Ball before the year is over.

  • SP Ryan Johnson started the year in the Angels bullpen, but after 14 appearances he was sent back down. The Angels are stretching him out as a starter in High-A. Things are going very well, but to be fair he started the year pitching against big league hitters. Why he was sent all the way down to High-A is something only the Angels know. Regardless, during June he threw 30 innings with 32 strikeouts and a 2.10 ERA while walking seven. Johnson reached seven innings in each of his final three starts of the month, so he may be due for a promotion soon. Who knows how high that promotion can take him.
