Jhoan Duran, Brad Keller, Tim Herrin, Raisel Iglesias, Alex Lange, Dylan Lee, Riley O’Brien, Tyler Rogers, Justin Sterner, and Louis Varland each had three SV+HLD’s over the past week, with Duran and Keller picking up four each. Tim Herrin is benefiting from the Guardians bullpen situation, and he’s pitching much better as of late, but it’s hard to get excited about a 5.9% K-BB rate and 1.37 WHIP.

- The only complaint we can have against Paul Sewald this year is that his ERA is a bit high. If you play in H2H leagues, though, that’s not a huge issue as 8 of the 9 earned runs he’s allowed this year came in three games (5/13, 4/23, and 4/3). Over Sewald’s past 8 innings, he holds a 1.13 ERA, 0.38 WHIP, and 26% K rate, and even with Puk’s return on the horizon, I’m not seeing any reason he can’t hold on to this closer role.

- This bullpen remains hard to predict on a day-to-day basis, but the one guy it seems we can’t get rid of is Hogan Harris. He is the only lefty here, so that’s part of it, but at the end of the day, he’s probably got the best stuff too (depending on what versions of Justin Sterner and Elvis Alvarado we are getting).

| Role | Pitcher | Save Chances |
| Closer | Raisel Iglesias | 75% |
| Setup Role | Robert Suarez | 10% |
| Setup Role | Dylan Lee | 5% |
| Middle Relief | Didier Fuentes | 5% |
- Raisel Iglesias has come back down to earth from a swing-and-miss standpoint, and even as he allows more baserunners, he’s not allowing said runners to score (outside of one game), so he’s doing his job. Over his past nine innings, he’s dealing with a 1.44 WHIP and just a 23.7% K rate, but he’s only allowed two runs as he’s not allowing extra-base hits (three 2B all year, ZERO 3B or HR). He’s doing a great job getting ahead of hitters, so even when they do get hits off him, Iglesias is up in the count, so the hitters aren’t exactly unloading their A-swing on him. This is why F-Strike% can be so important and often is overlooked.
- Didier Fuentes continues to excel as a reliever, and I love that the Braves are using him in this role. I wonder what the results would be of top pitching prospects around the league if you asked them, “Would you rather make starts in the minors, or pitch out of the bullpen for your MLB club?” They’d obviously prefer the MLB bullpen role and to make that 40-man roster money (and hit free agency sooner). Anyway, Fuentes just gives this loaded bullpen another weapon, as they basically now have “A” (Iglesias, Suarez, Lee) and “B” (Fuentes, Kinley, Dodd) high-leverage units better than what half the league is rolling out.

| Interim Closer | Rico Garcia | 80% |
| Setup Role | Andrew Kittredge | 10% |
| Setup Role | Yennier Cano | 5% |
| Middle Relief | Grant Wolfram | 5% |
- Rico Garcia is coming back down to earth, and it sounds like Ryan Helsley could return by the end of the month, so his grip on that closer role is slipping. He should settle back in as one of the top setup men in baseball, but beware that the .111 BABIP and 98.6% LOB rates will continue to worsen. I’d still expect him to finish with an ERA around or under 3.00 and a WHIP around 1.00.
- As far as who is going to set up games for Garcia right now, it looks like we may be back to Andrew Kittredge being that guy, as he’s pitched well over this past 5.1 innings (small sample alert, but: 1.69 ERA, 0.56 WHIP, 37% K), looking more like his 2025 self. Just need the slider to be “on” consistently.

- Aroldis Chapman was dealing with a hamstring injury this past weekend that was drastically affecting his stuff. With Garrett Whitlock returning today, he should be considered the next in line if Chapman were to miss time.

| Closer | Daniel Palencia | 80% |
| Setup Role | Jacob Webb | 10% |

- Jacob Webb had another impressive week with 3 K’s, a hold, and a WHIP under 1 while not allowing a run over 3.2 innings. I don’t have any concerns about him regressing too much as long as that velocity remains over 94 MPH. Phil Maton continues to struggle, and even Caleb Thielbar has not looked great since returning from the IL, so that 8th inning role is Webb’s to lose.

| Role | Pitcher | Save Chances |
| Closer | Seranthony Domínguez | 50% |
| Setup Role | Grant Taylor | 40% |
| Setup Role | Sean Newcomb | 5% |
| Middle Relief | Bryan Hudson | 5% |
- Grant Taylor has been one of, if not the best, relievers in baseball over the past month with a 1.20 ERA (1.10 SIERA), 0.60 WHIP, and a 44.4% K rate over 15 innings. Seranthony Domínguez hasn’t exactly been terrible either, with a 3.86 ERA (2.61 SIERA), 1.07 WHIP, and 31% K rate, so I get why it’s hard for the White Sox to hand the keys over to Taylor (especially when Seranthony is making $10M). It still feels like just a matter of time before Taylor takes over that closer role.
- Bryan Hudson had a bad series against the Phillies this past weekend, but the past month has, in general, been fairly mediocre, at best. I don’t think this is the end of the road for him, but given his track record (or lack thereof?), I’d rather pursue other options in hold leagues.

- I talked about Hunter Gaddis’s struggles against lefties in today’s RP Roundup, but you know which righty in this bullpen has not had issues against lefties this year…Colin Holderman. That’s especially surprising, not only because of Holderman’s pitch mix/arm angle, but he’s also faced more lefties than righties this year and is having a breakout season. In the past, Holderman attacked lefties with a cutter, but that cutter held a .320 BA against the past two seasons. This year, he’s using a traditional curveball to attack lefties, different from his sweeper, and that curveball currently holds a .000 BA against (yes, the pitch has yet to give up a hit). He’s also just throwing his sinker and sweeper more often in general, and why not? Those are his bread and butter offerings.

- Kenley Jansen is beginning a rehab assignment today, and he is expected to only need an outing or two before returning to the Tigers bullpen this weekend. Will Vest has pitched well in Jansen’s absence, and the stuff seems to be back to normal for him. I’m hoping we still see high-leverage Drew Anderson as well, especially after he was averaging 97.5 MPH with his fastball last time out (is that real or just a tease?).

| Closer | Josh Hader | 80% |
| Setup Role | Enyel De Los Santos | 5% |
| Setup Role | Steven Okert | 5% |
| Middle Relief | Bryan King | 5% |
- Josh Hader’s velocity looks the same as it did last year, and he’s striking out everyone in sight, so yeah, this looks like the same elite version of Hader we saw in 2025 before he landed on the IL.
- I’m not sure what the pecking order in front of Hader is right now (not sure the Astros have anything set), but it needs to be Enyel De Los Santos and Steven Okert. Since the start of May, De Los Santos has held a 1.62 ERA, 0.60 WHIP, and 30% K rate (16.2 IP).

| Closer | Alex Lange | 50% |
| Setup Role | Daniel Lynch IV | 20% |
| Setup Role | Matt Strahm | 20% |
| Middle Relief | Lucas Erceg | 10% |
- Alex Lange picked up three saves last week, and it sure looks like the Royals have made their decision on who the new closer is. In typically Lange fashion, he made things interesting in every one of those saves, but he did not allow a run, so there’s that. I don’t feel too comfortable about it, but Lange has been really good since the start of May (1.76 ERA, 1.11 WHIP), and he’s had some success in the closer role before. The velocity is where it was for him in 2022, and the command looks a bit better, so maybe this could be real?

- Sam Bachman continues to act as a setup man for Kirby Yates (who has two losses, two blown saves, and just one save), but things are going to change, right? Bachman is far and away the best reliever here, with a 0.59 ERA, 0.78 WHIP, and 30% K rate (18% SwStr, 37% CSW) over 15.1 innings since the start of May.

| Interim Closer | Tanner Scott | 65% |
| Setup Role | Alex Vesia | 10% |
| Setup Role | Kyle Hurt | 10% |
| Middle Relief | Will Klein | 10% |
- Tanner Scott has had a couple of hiccups recently, and Edwin Díaz is progressing in his rehab, so Scott moves down the saves list a bit this week, but he’s still a must-roster in every holds league (and realistically every save-only league).
- Kyle Hurt and Will Klein move down the list not just for performance reasons, but this is also a Dodgers bullpen that has unconventional roles and usage at times, so it can be frustrating rostering anyone outside of Scott. That being said, what Edgardo Henriquez gave us this past weekend has my antenna up because if this stuff he’s showing does stick this time, he’s all of a sudden like a top 10 reliever in baseball.

| Setup Role | Anthony Bender | 15% |
| Setup Role | Michael Petersen | 10% |

- Pete Fairbanks just can’t seem to get things right; it’s like every time he takes two steps forward, it’s followed by a giant step back. He’s likely to get the team’s next save chance, but he’s got to be on the hot seat. Meanwhile, Anthony Bender has been quietly dominating since the start of May with a 1.23 ERA, 0.27 WHIP, and 31% K rate (39% CSW). Michael Petersen has been great, too, but Bender deserves a chance if Fairbanks is removed from the closer role.

- Trevor Megill has been dealing with some soreness, which is why he was unavailable last night, which may have been to his and his managers’ benefit, as I don’t think we want to roster anyone pitching at that Vegas ballpark. Hopefully, he is ok and doesn’t need an IL stint, but it’s obviously something to monitor.

- Devin Williams command is the only thing that concerns me still. The stuff is fine, plenty of swing and miss still there in that changeup, and he’s shown the fastball can still have some juice, but I think there’s still going to be volatility with how inconsistent his command is at times. Guys like Williams and Andrés Muñoz have incredible stuff, but every other outing, they would be walking four guys a night if the other team just refused to swing.
- A.J. Minter continues to look shark, and that is probably bad news for Huascar Brazobán, who had been acting as that fourth high-leverage option for most of the season.

I’m not sure that can or will last, but either way, Cruz remains fairly consistent when it comes to his numbers. You know what you are going to get, and as long as you have someone (or someone’s) on your roster to offset his high WHIP, he’s still
- I appreciate that Camilo Doval is trying to learn a new changeup and is trying to find a way out of this current rut, but I want to take a break from him for now and see him reel off a good week or two before jumping back in.

I’m concerned about the walks coming back recently, and we are even seeing the fastball velocity lower than usual. Hopefully, it’s nothing health-related, and he can get back on track, but I have some concerns.

With that, however, we get a 4.27 SIERA and just a 16% K rate (9.4% SwStr, 26% CSW). I think Winn may be a good, but not great, reliever. That said, he may be the team’s closer now, so all of a sudden, he has save-only league appeal.

| Edwin Díaz | Elbow. On his second set of back-to-back throwing sessions, playing catch at Dodger Stadium per Roberts. Recovery “coming along really well.” Post-All-Star break return is still the target. |
| A.J. Puk | TJS (Internal Brace). Made his fifth rehab outing on 6/6 with Triple-A Reno; topped out at 95.6 mph in his Reno debut. Two or three more rehab appearances are expected before activation. |
| Ryan Helsley | Elbow. Faced live hitters on 6/8, checking off another box in his recovery after multiple bullpens over the last two weeks. If everything checks out, he could start a rehab assignment later this week. |
| Erik Sabrowski | Elbow. Resumed mound work after being cleared to throw earlier this month. No firm timetable for facing hitters yet. MLB.com’s report suggested a possible July return. |
| Justin Martinez | TJS. Still working through the 15-bullpen progression Lovullo laid out before next steps. Late August best-case return; a 2027 reappearance remains the more likely outcome. |
| Jeremiah Estrada | Knee. Placed on the IL with right knee inflammation. Stammen said it was “just bothering him pushing off the mound.” Earliest return is 6/19, and it’s not expected to be a lengthy absence. |
| Emilio Pagán | Hamstring. Re-assessed for strength deficit on 6/8; pending those results, he could move to throwing off a mound immediately after. A late June return feels realistic given the steps still left. |
| Matt Brash | Lat. Placed on the IL 6/10 with a right lat strain. |
| Edwin Uceta | Shoulder. Still no mound work. Eligible off the 60-day IL, but a return remains weeks (months?) away. |
| Graham Ashcraft | Elbow. Received the PRP injection for the UCL sprain and is still gathering a second opinion to confirm he can avoid Tommy John surgery. Multi-month absence expected at least. |
| Carlos Estévez | Shoulder. Continuing the throwing progression that began with him playing catch on 5/28. No bullpens or rehab outings yet; late June remains the earliest return target. |
| Evan Phillips | Elbow. Began a rehab assignment at Triple-A on 6/4, after three live BP sessions. Just past 12 months post-Tommy John; July/August return target. |
| Yimi García | Elbow. Two rehab outings in the books with Single-A Dunedin (6/4 and 6/7). Fastball sitting 94-96 mph. Nearing activation, maybe next week? |
| Ben Joyce | Shoulder. Still on the 60-day IL, working through the resumed throwing program in Arizona. No firm timetable, buildup remains slow and deliberate. |
| Andrew Nardi | Rib. On the 60-day IL with the left rib cage stress reaction. McCullough said he could miss approximately three months from the original IL placement. |
| Tyler Kinley | Elbow. Placed on the IL 6/10 with elbow inflammation. |
| Robert Garcia | Shoulder. Schumaker said he’s still weeks away. Has been doing light throwing work since early May, but hasn’t progressed to bullpens. Looking at a potential July return. |
| Hunter Harvey | Triceps. Rehabbing in Arizona after the four-week shutdown. Counsell suggested a return closer to the All-Star break, given the bullpen sessions and rehab assignment still ahead of him. |
| Brock Stewart | Foot. Bone spur still “not totally responding,” per Roberts. Surgery isn’t on the table yet, but the timeline keeps slipping with no formal rehab assignment in sight. |
| Bennett Sousa | Elbow. Continuing his throwing progression as he works back from the low-grade flexor/pronator strain. No firm return date yet. |
