Jhoan Duran, Emmanuel Clase, Camilo Doval, Griffin Jax, Kyle Leahy, and Ryan Walker all finished with three SV+HLDs this week, with Duran picking up 4. Duran has been awesome this year, especially since his first outing back in March, as he holds 30.3% K and 17% SwStr rates, a 2.12 SIERA, and 128 Stuff+ over his past 17 IP. This also comes with a 72.5% GB rate, second-best amongst closers, just behind Andrés Muñoz. Duran has turned to his splitter as his primary offering this season, so the uptick in groundballs checks out, as does the uptick in swing and miss. Duran came into last week with just two saves and was a nice buy-low option, but that window has likely shut after the past week.
Not sure I understand how Gaddis and Garrett are 45 and 51 respectively. Both have 10 Holds each and right among the top options.
I read a post from The New York Times a few days ago about how Moises Chace has suffered a 2+ mph velocity drop in his fastball this season so far compared to 2024. How concerned should we be about this development?
Where is this week’s update? Am I blind?
