Camilo Doval, Cade Smith, Bryan Abreu, Kyle Finnegan, Hunter Gaddis, Josh Hader, Griffin Jax, and Bryan King all finished with three SV+HLDs this week, with Smith and Doval picking up four. Doval has gotten off to a great start this year, but before you go rushing to add him, just keep in mind that this isn’t exactly “prime” Doval. His velo is down 1.6 MPH from 2024 and 2.3 MPH from 2023, which in turn has led to a higher zone rate, but the swing and miss has disappeared as a result. Through 12 IP, Doval has just a 6.3% K-BB ratio as well as career lows in SwStr% (11.7%) and CSW% (27.5%). He has been very lucky so far with a .182 BABIP.
Vest is climbing. He’ll be in top 30 soon.
