José Alvarado, Jared Koenig, Andrés Muñoz, Tanner Scott, Gregory Soto, Gabe Speier, Abner Uribe, Carlos Vargas, Luke Weaver, Devin Williams, and Kirby Yates all finished with three SV+HLD’s this week. Of the eleven relievers listed, three are not on the top 100 list this week in Soto, Koenig and Vargas. All three are on the holds list, so they just missed the top 100 here. Soto is still a WHIP liability, and the swing and miss isn’t good enough to make him worth the risk, especially considering how deep that Orioles bullpen is. Koenig struggles to generate swing and miss (9.9% this year, 9.1% for his career), and he doesn’t have any plus offering really (maybe the curveball?). Vargas throws hard and has some “future closer” type traits, but command has always been an issue and he’s currently struggling to miss bats as well (16% K, 9% SwStr rates)
