Welcome back to the final week of Reliever Rankings! Thank you for reading this season, and I’m already excited for 2027 (what lockout?). I’m hoping to get some early 2027 rankings out in the next two weeks.
Mason Fluharty, Hunter Gaddis, Mason Montgomery, and Cade Smith each had three SV+HLDs over the past week.
| CLOSER SITUATION | ||
|---|---|---|
| Role | Pitcher | Save Chances |
| Co-Closer | Juan Morillo | 25% |
| Co-Closer | Justin Martinez | 20% |
| Co-Closer | Brandyn Garcia | 20% |
| Co-Closer | Jonathan Loáisiga | 15% |
- It looks like we are going to finish the year with a closer committee here, although it’s safe to say Juan Morillo is the slight favorite for saves. Justin Martinez has looked amazing since returning from the IL, but there’s still no indication that he may get his job back.
| CLOSER SITUATION | ||
|---|---|---|
| Role | Pitcher | Save Chances |
| Co-Closer | Elvis Alvarado | 45% |
| Co-Closer | Hogan Harris | 35% |
| Setup Role | Luis Medina | 10% |
| Middle Relief | Scott Blewett | 5% |
- Elvis Alvarado may finish the year in the closer role for the A’s, but he has not looked particularly appealing as of late. The velocity is down, and the slider is absent once again. It would be nice to see the A’s add a closer this offseason, or at least someone who could potentially win the job in a camp battle.
| CLOSER SITUATION | ||
|---|---|---|
| Role | Pitcher | Save Chances |
| Closer | Raisel Iglesias | 65% |
| Setup Role | Didier Fuentes | 10% |
| Setup Role | Dylan Dodd | 10% |
| Middle Relief | Robert Suarez | 10% |
- Robert Suarez is returning this week, and I can’t wait to see how he looks, as it sounds like his bullpen and live BP sessions went well (touching 98 MPH). With Dylan Lee continuing to struggle, this bullpen really needs a shot in the arm heading into the postseason.
| CLOSER SITUATION | ||
|---|---|---|
| Role | Pitcher | Save Chances |
| Closer | Rico Garcia | 50% |
| Setup Role | Andrew Kittredge | 25% |
| Setup Role | Yennier Cano | 10% |
| Middle Relief | Félix Bautista | 10% |
- Rico Garcia continues to act as the closer here, so we finally get a week with no change at the top. And that’s even with the return of Félix Bautista, who, despite the low velocity, hasn’t looked that bad this month at AAA and in his one MLB appearance. I’m not sure he’s going to help you much this year, but assuming he’s healthy heading into the offseason, he should be back on the closer radar again next year.
| CLOSER SITUATION | ||
|---|---|---|
| Role | Pitcher | Save Chances |
| Closer | Aroldis Chapman | 70% |
| Setup Role | Garrett Whitlock | 15% |
| Setup Role | Erik Miller | 5% |
| Middle Relief | Tyron Guerrero | 5% |
- Aroldis Chapman should be healthy and ready to pitch this week after getting some time off to deal with a lat issue. The Sox also got some bullpen reinforcements, with Tyron Guerrero returning and showing good velocity on his sinker in his first game back.
| CLOSER SITUATION | ||
|---|---|---|
| Role | Pitcher | Save Chances |
| Co-Closer | Ryan Zeferjahn | 40% |
| Co-Closer | Daniel Palencia | 30% |
| Co-Closer | Jacob Webb | 20% |
| Middle Relief | Ryan Rolison | 5% |
- Daniel Palencia. Ryan Zeferjahn appears as the frontrunner in this closer committee of sorts, but Daniel Palencia has looked pretty good the past few times out. The fastball isn’t back to its peak level, but he seems to be getting better each time out. We all know how volatile Zeferjahn can be, but he’s throwing the ball well right now, so I get it if the Cubs let him rip in the ninth.
| CLOSER SITUATION | ||
|---|---|---|
| Role | Pitcher | Save Chances |
| Co-Closer | Grant Taylor | 50% |
| Co-Closer | Bryan Hudson | 25% |
| Setup Role | Jordan Hicks | 10% |
| Middle Relief | Hagen Smith | 10% |
- Grant Taylor continues to be the 1A closer option for the White Sox, but this just isn’t as exciting anymore. Or at least fatigue is settling in, as he’s not as dominant as he once was. Taylor, currently sitting at 82 IP this season, totalled 63.1 IP last year, 27 in 2024 (including AFL), missed all of 2023, and threw 52 IP in 2022 between LSU and summer ball on the Cape. So he’s thrown more innings this year than he ever has (unless he was topping 82 innings a year in high school).
| CLOSER SITUATION | ||
|---|---|---|
| Role | Pitcher | Save Chances |
| Closer | Emilio Pagán | 70% |
| Setup Role | Brock Burke | 10% |
| Setup Role | Tejay Antone | 10% |
| Middle Relief | Graham Ashcraft | 5% |
- Emilio Pagán is finishing the year strong, and at this point, I’d lean towards him declining his $10M player option, as he can at least get that on the open market and possibly tack on a second year as well. That leaves this Reds bullpen with plenty of question marks for 2027.
| CLOSER SITUATION | ||
|---|---|---|
| Role | Pitcher | Save Chances |
| Closer | Cade Smith | 85% |
| Setup Role | Hunter Gaddis | 5% |
| Setup Role | Erik Sabrowski | 5% |
| Middle Relief | Tim Herrin | 5% |
- Cade Smith has been on fire lately and looks likely to finish as the second-ranked reliever in standard H2H category formats. He currently ranks first in reliever innings pitched since the start of 2024 (220.1 IP + his 13.1 IP in the postseason are 7th most amongst relievers) and second in total appearances (216 + 12 postseason appearances), trailing only Tyler Rogers. For a guy who throws as hard as him, I’m not sure if we can expect another 70+ inning season from him next year (especially with the Guardians playing in October once again), but maybe he’s just different?
| CLOSER SITUATION | ||
|---|---|---|
| Role | Pitcher | Save Chances |
| Closer | Jordan Romano | 70% |
| Setup Role | Brennan Bernardino | 15% |
| Setup Role | Jimmy Herget | 5% |
| Middle Relief | Juan Mejia | 5% |
- The old Rockies regime would have already given Jordan Romano an extension by now. The new one may very well bring him back, but I still would want no part of this at all (ok, maybe if he is throwing 96-97 MPH in the spring).
| CLOSER SITUATION | ||
|---|---|---|
| Role | Pitcher | Save Chances |
| Closer | Kenley Jansen | 70% |
| Setup Role | Drew Sommers | 10% |
| Setup Role | Tyler Holton | 10% |
| Middle Relief | Jacob Waguespack | 5% |
- Kenley Jansen is just three saves away from 500, and I doubt he gets there this week, but that could be the incentive that gets him to come back for one more season. He’s proving he still has something left in the tank.
| CLOSER SITUATION | ||
|---|---|---|
| Role | Pitcher | Save Chances |
| Closer | Josh Hader | 80% |
| Setup Role | Bryan Abreu | 5% |
| Setup Role | Bennett Sousa | 5% |
| Middle Relief | AJ Blubaugh | 5% |
- Bryan Abreu is still going to be hit or miss with his command any given night, but the stuff is back to normal for him, and I’m excited for him to potentially lock down a closer role somewhere next season.
| CLOSER SITUATION | ||
|---|---|---|
| Role | Pitcher | Save Chances |
| Closer | Steven Cruz | 60% |
| Setup Role | Nate Pearson | 20% |
| Setup Role | Craig Kimbrel | 10% |
| Middle Relief | Lucas Erceg | 5% |
- Steven Cruz continues to frustrate me, and while he’s generally pitched well for the most part, it just hasn’t all come together and clicked quite yet. The four-seamer can be dominant, but the secondaries are meh. The home runs are still an issue. Consistency in general will be the key to Cruz taking a step forward in 2027 (and improving his secondaries).
| CLOSER SITUATION | ||
|---|---|---|
| Role | Pitcher | Save Chances |
| C0-Closer | Ben Joyce | 50% |
| C0-Closer | Ryan Watson | 25% |
| Setup Role | José Fermín | 10% |
| Middle Relief | Sam Bachman | 10% |
- Ben Joyce is a conundrum for next year, which, if the Angels go out and sign a closer, this doesn’t matter, but if this bullpen basically remains as is, I feel like Joyce’s price will be inflated by draft time. He’s had a few outings where he looks like the best reliever in baseball, a few where he’s the worst, and a few that are just very ho-hum. After pick 250/300, I’m fine with taking a flier, but there’s also the real chance he gives you absolutely nothing.
- Sam Bachman returned this past week, and while the velocity isn’t at its peak, it’s good to see him back and pitching as we enter the offseason.
| CLOSER SITUATION | ||
|---|---|---|
| Role | Pitcher | Save Chances |
| Closer? | Tanner Scott | 50% |
| Setup Role | Evan Phillips | 25% |
| Setup Role | Brock Stewart | 10% |
| Middle Relief | Edwin Díaz | 10% |
- Edwin Díaz looks much better this time around, and while it’s only been two outings, I’m hopeful he’s more or less back to his usual self. What his role will look like in October, that’s the question.
| CLOSER SITUATION | ||
|---|---|---|
| Role | Pitcher | Save Chances |
| Co-Closer | Michael Petersen | 40% |
| Co-Closer | Calvin Faucher | 30% |
| Co-Closer | Josh Ekness | 10% |
| Co-Closer | Victor Vodnik | 10% |
- There may not be a closer here for the rest of the season, but will they have a closer for 2027? McCullough has been fine with the committee approach, so he may prefer that next year, but this roster does have plenty of closer-quality arms.
| CLOSER SITUATION | ||
|---|---|---|
| Role | Pitcher | Save Chances |
| Closer | Trevor Megill | 75% |
| Setup Role | Abner Uribe | 10% |
| Setup Role | Aaron Ashby | 5% |
| Middle Relief | DL Hall | 5% |
- JoJo Romero put together a nice week, but I’m still not sure how he figures in with Ashby and Hall also throwing well from the left side (not to mention Drohan as a potential reliever).
| CLOSER SITUATION | ||
|---|---|---|
| Role | Pitcher | Save Chances |
| Closer? | A.J. Minter | 50% |
| Setup Role | Jeff Hoffman | 30% |
| Setup Role | Yoendrys Gómez | 10% |
| Middle Relief | Andrew Morris | 5% |
- A.J. Minter seems to have taken over the closer role here, although he hasn’t exactly been lights out in September. Jeff Hoffman, on the other hand, has allowed just one hit in September (9 appearances) while striking out 15 and walking just 3.
| CLOSER SITUATION | ||
|---|---|---|
| Role | Pitcher | Save Chances |
| Closer? | Devin Williams | 40% |
| Setup Role | Dedniel Núñez | 30% |
| Setup Role | Nate Lavender | 10% |
| Middle Relief | Kodai Senga | 10% |
- Devin Williams is back in the Mets bullpen, but we don’t know what his role will be yet. Regardless, it does appear that Kodai Senga is not closing anymore, and that’s probably for the best. If Williams isn’t getting the next save chance, I’d imagine it will go to Dedniel Núñez, who absolutely deserves it.
| CLOSER SITUATION | ||
|---|---|---|
| Role | Pitcher | Save Chances |
| Closer | David Bednar | 80% |
| Setup Role | Brent Headrick | 5% |
| Setup Role | Paul Blackburn | 5% |
| Middle Relief | John Schreiber | 5% |
- Brent Headrick may be hitting a wall here (he’s kind of been hitting said wall for a month now) as the velocity has been down about a MPH in September. They desperately need him ready for October so they could take it easy with him this week.
| CLOSER SITUATION | ||
|---|---|---|
| Role | Pitcher | Save Chances |
| Closer | Jhoan Duran | 85% |
| Setup Role | Jonathan Bowlan | 5% |
| Setup Role | Alex McFarlane | 5% |
| Middle Relief | Brooks Raley | 5% |
- The big question here is: how in the world do the Phillies get the ball to Jhoan Duran in the ninth? They at least have the luxury of a rotation that can go deep into games, but even still, who are they trusting in the 7th and 8th innings of a playoff game if needed? Jonathan Bowlan, if healthy, should be one of those, but who else? Alex McFarlane has the best stuff of anyone, but is inexperiences not as consistent as you’d hope for. Raley and Alvarado from the left side have all sorts of issues, especially lately. Kerkering is in AAA, and Kilian is hurt. Andrew Painter, the reliever, could be interesting…
| CLOSER SITUATION | ||
|---|---|---|
| Role | Pitcher | Save Chances |
| Closer | Mason Montgomery | 70% |
| Setup Role | Luke Weaver | 10% |
| Setup Role | Gregory Soto | 10% |
| Middle Relief | Yohan Ramírez | 5% |
- Luke Weaver’s velocity has dipped back down below 95 MPH lately, but he’s been able to make up for it (somewhat). He’ll be back in this bullpen next year, likely setting up for Mason Montgomery.
| CLOSER SITUATION | ||
|---|---|---|
| Role | Pitcher | Save Chances |
| Closer | Mason Miller | 80% |
| Setup Role | Adrian Morejon | 10% |
| Setup Role | Bradgley Rodriguez | 5% |
| Middle Relief | Yuki Matsui | 5% |
- Bradgley Rodriguez gave us a scare last week with back-to-back games in which his fastball was down more than a MPH, but in the past two outings, the velocity was actually up a bit from normal, so hopefully he’s just fine. Jason Adam could return this week at some point, but his rehab outings at AAA were a disaster (0.1 IP, 7 H, 9 ER, 2 BB in his last two appearances).
| CLOSER SITUATION | ||
|---|---|---|
| Role | Pitcher | Save Chances |
| Closer | Trent Harris | 50% |
| Setup Role | Dylan Smith | 30% |
| Setup Role | Carson Seymour | 10% |
| Middle Relief | Jason Foley | 5% |
- Trent Harris has definitely emerged now as the favorite for saves here, outpitching Dylan Smith over the past month. I like Harris, but if the Giants open the season with him in the closer role, their offseason was once again a disaster.
| CLOSER SITUATION | ||
|---|---|---|
| Role | Pitcher | Save Chances |
| Closer | Andrés Muñoz | 60% |
| Setup Role | Seranthony Domínguez | 25% |
| Setup Role | Eduard Bazardo | 5% |
| Middle Relief | Gabe Speier | 5% |
- Andrés Muñoz is questionable for this week after tweaking his knee over the weekend, and if he is not available, we could see Seranthony Domínguez finish the year as the closer in Seattle. There’s no real reason to push Muñoz at this point, so an IL stint wouldn’t surprise me. However, if he is active tonight, then he should be good to go.
| CLOSER SITUATION | ||
|---|---|---|
| Role | Pitcher | Save Chances |
| Closer | Riley O’Brien | 70% |
| Setup Role | Ryne Stanek | 10% |
| Setup Role | Luis Gastelum | 5% |
| Middle Relief | Gordon Graceffo | 5% |
- Riley O’Brien continues to chug along, and as ugly as it has been, he’s got a real shot at 40 saves for the season (as well as 10 losses and/or blown saves).
| CLOSER SITUATION | ||
|---|---|---|
| Role | Pitcher | Save Chances |
| Closer | Bryan Baker | 70% |
| Setup Role | Kevin Kelly | 10% |
| Setup Role | Cam Booser | 5% |
| Middle Relief | Cole Sulser | 5% |
- Kevin Kelly had some velo concerns last week, but seems to have overcome those and is still throwing the ball well. Bryan Baker, on the other hand, has not. Baker was averaging 97.1 MPH on his fastball heading into the All-Star break, but since then, he’s been sitting at 95.4 MPH. Losing 1.7 MPH on your fastball mid-season with no injury is wild. My guess is they will give Baker a chance to close out games in October, but with a very short leash. One meltdown and they probably move on.
| CLOSER SITUATION | ||
|---|---|---|
| Role | Pitcher | Save Chances |
| Closer | Jacob Latz | 80% |
| Setup Role | Robert Garcia | 5% |
| Setup Role | Jakob Junis | 5% |
| Middle Relief | Chase Silseth | 5% |
- Robert Garcia had been looking great, up until this past week at least, as his velocity in the past three outings has been down almost 2 MPH from where he sat last season.
| CLOSER SITUATION | ||
|---|---|---|
| Role | Pitcher | Save Chances |
| Closer | Louis Varland | 80% |
| Setup Role | Tyler Rogers | 10% |
| Setup Role | Spencer Miles | 5% |
| Middle Relief | Mason Fluharty | 5% |
- Louis Varland has been OK in September, but the biggest issue is that the Jays aren’t getting him save chances anymore. He has just one save since September 6th and has just four more days of games remaining.
| CLOSER SITUATION | ||
|---|---|---|
| Role | Pitcher | Save Chances |
| Co-Closer | Erik Tolman | 50% |
| Co-Closer | Jack Sinclair | 20% |
| Setup Role | Will Dion | 10% |
| Middle Relief | Yovanny Cruz | 10% |
- Erik Tolman has struggled as the team’s closer (some bad luck involved), but I still really like the skills. There’s some talent in this bullpen now, but they still need to find themselves a true closer.
Injured List
<
| Ryan Helsley | Elbow. Season over. Mike Elias said on 9/19 that Helsley is shut down for the remainder of the season, per Andy Kostka. He threw a scoreless inning for Triple-A Norfolk on 9/12 in what became his only rehab appearance, and Baltimore opted not to force him back. Testing had shown inflammation around the UCL with the ligament intact, so surgery was never the plan. |
| Pete Fairbanks | Shoulder. Season over. Fairbanks has been diagnosed with thoracic outlet syndrome and will require surgery, per Christina De Nicola on 9/18. He was placed on the 15-day IL on 9/15 with right median nerve irritation after exiting his 9/14 appearance in Arizona with a sharp sensation in the right brachial plexus, six pitches into the outing. |
| Edgardo Henriquez | Back. Imaging revealed a “low-grade” back strain, and the Dodgers are “hopeful” Henriquez returns for the postseason, Dave Roberts said on 9/16, per Fabian Ardaya. He was shut down from throwing for a few days and is ineligible to be activated before the end of the regular season. He went on the 15-day IL on 9/14. |
| Tyler Wells | Forearm. Imaging on 9/14 showed no structural damage, and Wells resumed playing catch on 9/19, with Tampa Bay listing an expected return for the postseason. He felt tightness in the forearm after pitching on 9/12 and was placed on the 15-day IL on 9/15, retroactive to 9/13, making him eligible on 9/28. He expects a minimum stint that leaves him healthy for October. |
| Jason Adam | Shoulder. Made three rehab appearances with Triple-A El Paso and was scheduled to throw a live batting practice session at Petco Park on 9/21, with San Diego saying he could be activated within days. He began the assignment on 9/13 by retiring the side in order. The MRI had shown no structural damage, just the subscapularis strain. |
| Justin Slaten | Elbow. Season over. Interim manager Chad Tracy said on 9/15 that Slaten will not return from the injured list this season, per Chris Cotillo. He had been shut down from throwing on 9/7 after symptoms failed to resolve. Slaten went on the 15-day IL on 8/16, retroactive to 8/13, and the MRI showed no structural damage. |
| Steven Okert | Hamstring. Okert will miss the rest of the regular season but could return at some point in the postseason, per Brian McTaggart on 9/19. He was playing catch as of 9/20 and continues a throwing program in West Palm Beach. He was placed on the 15-day IL on 9/4, retroactive to 9/1, with a right hamstring strain, per Chandler Rome. |
| Samy Natera Jr. | Forearm. Season over. Placed on the 15-day IL on 9/16, retroactive to 9/13, with left forearm inflammation. An MRI revealed no structural damage, and Natera said on 9/18 that he is looking at a six-week recovery and expects a normal offseason. The Angels list an expected return of 2027. He had been reinstated from an earlier back-related IL stint on 9/1. |
| Jeremiah Estrada | Shoulder. Rehabbing in Arizona and had not resumed throwing as of 9/8, with San Diego listing a possible October return. He passed his 9/9 eligibility date without activation. The 8/26 placement, retroactive to 8/25, was his third IL stint of 2026 with three different injuries. |
| Garrett Cleavinger | Forearm. Was slated to resume mound work on 9/19 before progressing to bullpen sessions, per the club, after resuming catch play earlier in the week. Marc Topkin reported on 9/15 that Cleavinger still had no timetable. He went on the 15-day IL on 9/5 after unsuccessfully trying to pitch through the condition, surrendering 10 runs over his last 8 2/3 innings. |
| Caleb Kilian | Oblique. Season over. Philadelphia transferred Kilian to the 60-day IL on 9/17, per Todd Zolecki, ending any chance he pitches again in the regular season. He had resumed throwing after three weeks shut down. He suffered the left oblique strain on his final pitch of the 8/9 win at Toronto and went on the 15-day IL on 8/10. |
| Gavin Hollowell | Shoulder. Threw live batting practice as of 9/22, per MLB.com. He began a rehab assignment with Triple-A Iowa on 9/5 and has since come off the Cubs’ published injury page. He had a 2.51 ERA with one save and one hold over 14.1 innings before the 7/31 placement with right shoulder inflammation. |
| Colin Holderman | Wrist. Setback. Holderman exited his first rehab outing with Triple-A Columbus on 9/17 after aggravating the right wrist, per Tim Stebbins. He received an injection and was expected to resume throwing early in the week of 9/21. The wrist first flared up on a warmup pitch before his 9/3 relief appearance. He intends to undergo a procedure after the season. |
| Grant Anderson | Biceps. Began a rehab assignment with Triple-A Nashville on 9/16, needing nine pitches and six strikes for a 1-2-3 inning, and logged another rehab appearance as of 9/22. Anderson felt tightness after throwing back-to-back games in Cincinnati on 9/5 and 9/6, was examined by two Reds doctors, and went on the 15-day IL on 9/7. |
| Manuel Rodríguez | Back. Expected to be activated at some point this week, Marc Topkin reported on 9/22. Rodríguez made rehab appearances with Triple-A Durham on 9/13 and 9/16 and threw a scoreless inning on 9/19. “Doing well,” Kevin Cash said. He went on the 15-day IL on 9/4, retroactive to 9/3, with a lower back strain, and has been eligible since 9/18. |
| Fernando Cruz | Elbow. Cruz still has not resumed throwing, a status the Yankees reiterated on 9/22 and that Aaron Boone first described on 9/13. He met with Dr. Keith Meister, who advised a conservative approach for now. Cruz was diagnosed with a partial tear of the right UCL on 8/26, the same day New York placed him on the IL, and he passed his eligibility date without activation. |
| Hunter Harvey | Triceps. Season over. The Cubs have shut Harvey down after he tried to come back in-season but struggled with recovery between appearances, per the club on 9/15. Chicago lists an expected return of 2027. The 4/12 placement was first called triceps inflammation before a 5/8 diagnosis of a stress reaction near the right triceps and shoulder. |
| Kyle Finnegan | Groin. Season over. Detroit placed him on the 15-day IL on 9/17, retroactive to 9/16, with left groin inflammation, and has not published a further update. He finishes 3-1 with a 4.30 ERA, two saves, 14 holds, and 47 strikeouts over 60.2 innings. |
| Enyel De Los Santos | Knee. Season over. Placed on the 15-day IL on 9/19 with right knee tendinitis, per Matt Kawahara, with an eligibility date of 10/4 that falls past the end of the regular season. Houston has published no timetable. He finishes 3-3 with a 4.79 ERA, five saves, 10 holds and 67 strikeouts over 71.1 innings in 66 games (the heaviest workload of any arm on this list). |
| Daniel Duarte | Hamstring. Season over. Placed on the 15-day IL on 9/16 with a left hamstring strain, which he suffered in the 10th inning of the 9/15 loss while jumping for a throw from Francisco Alvarez and nearly colliding with Christian Encarnacion-Strand on a play at the plate. New York lists an expected return of 2027. |
| Orlando Ribalta | Forearm. Has progressed to playing catch with increased intensity, per Washington’s 9/15 update, after the 9/8 MRI came back clean with no further damage. The Nationals list an expected return in late September or 2027. He went on the 15-day IL on 9/7, retroactive to 9/4. |
| Joe Jiménez | Knee. Began a rehab assignment with Triple-A Gwinnett on 9/15, his first game action since the 2024 postseason, and made another rehab appearance as of 9/20. Atlanta has since dropped him from its published injury page, and the club has called him a long shot to pitch in 2026. The assignment follows April left knee surgery, his third operation on that knee since 2024. |
| Tony Santillán | Hip. Season over. Placed on the 15-day IL on 9/22 with a left hip labral tear, with Cincinnati recalling Connor Phillips from Triple-A Louisville in the corresponding move. It is not yet clear whether Santillán will need surgery to repair it. |
| Julian García | Elbow. Season over. Placed on the 15-day IL on 9/18 with loose bodies in the right elbow, and Cincinnati says he will undergo season-ending surgery to remove them before the season ends so he is ready for spring training 2027. |
| Shawn Armstrong | Calf. Made rehab appearances with Triple-A Columbus on 9/11, 9/15, 9/17, and 9/20 and is on track for activation during the week of 9/21, per the club. Cleveland lists a September return, a change from the 8/3 transfer to the 60-day IL that had set his earliest activation at 9/23. He was carried off the field on 7/24 with what he was told was “a pretty significant calf tear.” |
