Agustín Ramírez (MIA) 46% on Yahoo – Ramirez is back to his early-season form, batting .314 with four home runs in the past two weeks. He’s likely rostered in deep leagues, but at 44% ownership on Yahoo, he’s out there in plenty of 10- or 12-team leagues. If you lost Rutschman or Herrera and have been searching for a long-term replacement, Ramirez looks like your next target. Ramirez sees more time at DH than he does behind the plate, so he gets a boost from availability alone. Pair that with his 91.6 mph average exit velocity and his solid 18.0 K%, and you’re looking at a great fantasy player.
Drake Baldwin (ATL) 20% on Yahoo – Speaking of great fantasy players, Baldwin is having a stellar season, too. There’s a lot to like with Baldwin; his average EV is even higher than Ramirez’s at 92.5 mph (90th percentile), and his K% is even lower at 15.7%. The results are in Baldwin’s favor too, earning him a .829 OPS compared to Ramirez’s .759. But the presence of Sean Murphy cuts into his playing time: the pair split playing time right down the middle. Baldwin notably sits against lefties, and the Braves will face three southpaws in the next week.
Gary Sánchez (BAL) 6% on Yahoo – After Adley Rutschman hit the IL, the Orioles elected to give Sanchez the starting job over rookie Maverick Handley. Sanchez is running with the role, batting .310 with three home runs in the past two weeks. He hasn’t had enough plate appearances to draw any meaningful conclusions from his advanced stats, but his early numbers are encouraging. Baltimore liked what they were seeing enough to give him two starts at DH in the seven games since Rutschman’s injury. Sanchez could well be your best option at this level of availability.
Willie MacIver (ATH) 0% on Yahoo – If you want to roll the dice on someone in an AL-only league, MacIver is your guy. His season has been bland at best, but he’s had games that are anything but. Most of his production has come from individual high-impact games, like one last week with a double, a home run, and a steal. He maintained an OPS north of .900 in Triple-A both last year and this year, so better days should be ahead as he continues to adjust. His days are numbered with Shea Langeliers working his way back from an oblique injury, but I could see MacIver proving to be a fantasy asset in the interim.
